●Sanable [End]

~Emerald~

sanable /●adj. able to be healed

I was so tired when I finally managed to bring all mine and Jordon's suitcases inside our old house.

"Home, sweet home." Jordon exclaimed dramatically as he ran inside and straight out the back door, into the backyard.

"Don't you dare touch that tree!" I called after him, knowing that he won't listen to me anyway.

I sighed and got to unpacking and reloading the closets and drawers. As tired as I was, it was still refreshing to be back home.

My life was back on track, I would go back to teaching at the same university, probably throw a few punches at Andrea and finally mend my personal life with Kaylen.

All feelings are sanable, if you give them time.

~Kaylen~

Two words.
Fucking hell.

My jaw hit the ground as I stood on the door of my house's living room. The bag I was gripping in my hand fell down with a thud and I tried to take the room in.

Jayden saw me while he was halfway through blowing into a balloon and on noticing my face, stopped and let the thing go. The poor balloon deflated into the air and joined its fellow hundred of the kin lying on the ground.

"Er..." My brother started as I crossed my arms, flaring my nose at a sign (made with more balloons) saying 'Welcome to the family!'

"Dad!" Jayden cried, still locking eyes with me and unable to come up with an explanation.

I heard my father's footsteps on the stairs behind me before he happily called out my name.

"Hi baby, you're home!" He said as I turned to him with the same face I was giving Jay.

"What's wrong?" He asked, giving me a hug.

"Care to explain what this is?" I said, waving my hand around the absurdity that was the living room at the moment.

"That's for the Blakes," my dad said smartly. I rolled my eyes.

"Why is the question, dad."

"Oh shut up, you. I wanted to welcome them back and into the family," he said as he pushed me inside and made me sit on the couch. Jayden continued with his operation, relieved that he had dad to back him up.

"They are not kindergarteners having a birthday party. Dad, this is embarrassing!" I sighed, dropping my face into my hands as he sat next to me.

"I don't want to hear it," he scolded before his face lit up. "Your father told me that you guys are back and coming home but I need details, baby boy."

His happy face made me smile.

I told him everything there was to tell, applying the under 16 filter to the details. Jayden wiggled his brows from the distance, hinting that he wanted those above 16 details some other time.

While I was almost finished with the story, another set of footsteps were heard coming from the hall and dad's face filled up with even more colour. I chuckled and inwardly awed at the romance that was still alive between my parents, hoping that it lasted forever.

"Pop!" Jayden called as papa came into view.

"Woah!" He remarked at the decoration as Jay tackled him in a hug. "Missed you, my favourite."

Jayden murmured something along the lines of me being the one getting all the attention these days as he made way for dad to give papa a hug.

They both exchanged no words as they hugged each other tight and then kissed. It was when the kiss lasted more than thirty seconds that Jay and I thought it was best to clear what was clogged in our throats, loud and accentuated.

"Take it upstairs, you two!" Jayden grimaced as he said so. Papa rolled his eyes as he broke the kiss and secured dad in his arms again.

"Nice decoration though." He said, holding back his laugh.

I also happened to notice a ballooned 'Kemmy' written on the left wall.

"That was the ship name you guys came up with?" I groaned as Jay and papa laughed.

"You can tell us if you have something better in your mind already," dad teased me, withdrawing from his husband finally.

I blushed, unable to come up with words and then I just went ahead and rolled my eyes again because that was the only thing I could do.

"When are they coming over though?" Papa asked, taking a seat on the opposite couch.

"At seven," I replied, recalling what Emerald had said when I dropped him and Jordon at his house.

"What do you guys want for dinner today?" Papa asked, rubbing his hands together as he stood up, already calculated that it was his turn to cook today.

"I'll do the cooking, I already have things in mind." Dad chimed in. In other words, he didn't want papa to be troubled when he had just come home tired.

"Okay, love. I'll help though." Papa said, not backing down as he kissed his husband's cheek and then went to his room to freshen up. I decided to follow but was stopped on the door by Jayden.

"I have a question," he said.

"Shoot."

"Are you considering moving in with Emerald?"

"So you can get my room? Keep dreaming." I said and walked out, hearing him whine in the background.

~~~
"They're here!" Dad sang from the kitchen as the door bell rang.
"Get the door, Kay!" Papa called from the dining room where he was busy arranging the cutlery.
I was already halfway down the staircase but sprinted on being called. I was so excited for this evening. I knew Emerald wanted to be a part of my life, the real one where I'm at home with my surroundings. And I was glad I was giving it to him.
Dad insisted that we 'welcome them into the family' where I was still apprehensive that it was all going too fast-paced for a man like me. But I wouldn't let that scare me anymore. I would handle how things go, wherever they go. Everything was sanable, as long as I gave it my love and attention.
I walked down the hall and to the door, opening it to reveal Emerald trying not to scold a complaining Jordon who had one of his hands in his father's.
"Hey, what's the fuss about?" I asked as the baby boy jumped into my open arms.
"Daddy didn't let me wear my white pants!" He cried. Emerald gave out an exasperated sigh as I made way for him to enter. He was wearing a simple white shirt and black pants.
He blushed deeply when I put my free arm around him and kissed his cheek. We were still new to this little stuff.
"Those pants of his are already so dirty," he mumbled as he explained it to me. I chuckled as we walked inside.
"Why did you want to wear white pants though?" I asked Jordon who had now calmed down in my arms and was watching my house for the second time.
"They're my favourite!" He said but was distracted soon when my dad came out from the kitchen to greet them.
"Who's this handsome boy?" My dad made all of Jordon's insecurities about his looks disappear as he kissed his cheek with the compliment. Jordon giggled and said a hello.
"You look great, Emerald." Dad said as he hugged Emerald. The guy blushed again but passed a smile so happy that it made my heart go berserk.
"You too, Mr. Lutyens." He said.
"Please call me Noah," dad insisted.
Papa came from the dining room with a welcoming smile on his face. Even though he'd been there in the town where I finally managed to convince Emerald to get back home, he hadn't got the chance to meet with him because of his busy schedules and also because I was busy having Emerald all to myself.
"Good to see you, Emerald." He said as they shook hands. Emerald passed on a shy 'you too, Mr. Lutyens'.
"Hello there, cutie." Papa said, ruffling Jordon's hair. They both had bonded a bit over ice cream the other day.
"Hello, everyone!" Jayden said as he walked down the stairs to join our party. He hugged Emerald tight, surprising all of us. And then he took Jordon from my arms.
"Let's get seated," dad ushered us into the living room where Emerald gasped at the arrangement.
His eyes were glued to the 'Welcome to the family' hung huge at the front wall. His pink mouth had fallen open as he stared and we stood, huddled around him, smiling as he had a moment. I, though, was nervous at how he'd take it. I didn't want this to be too overwhelming for him. We were only at our early stages after all.
Jordon broke the silence by shouting a 'wow' and jumping down my brother's arms to grab a couple of balloons scattered on the ground. Some of them had his name written on them (which I had done in the eve mindlessly while daydreaming) and he showed it to his father.
"Thank you so much," Emerald whispered to my dad who was standing on his right.
"Aw, don't thank us. We're so happy to have you in the family." Dad cooed, side-hugging him.
Everybody went inside and got seated. I had to shove Jayden aside to get a seat next to Emerald which he was trying to steal to tease me on purpose.
"This is so..." Emerald whispered to me, clutching my hand as he looked at the 'Kemmy' on the left and chuckled.
Dad and Jayden were talking and papa was helping Jordon pluck more balloons off the wall. I was about to say something to Emerald but then I noticed how his eyes had turned wet.
"Hey," I said softly, pulling him into my side and kissing his head. He placed his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes, causing his tear to squeeze out.
I wiped it off with my thumb and then caressed his cheek.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Are you kidding?" He chuckled as he looked up at me, "I'm the happiest I've ever been."
