●Lief
~Emerald~
lief /●adv. (as lief) as happily, as gladly
I had begun thinking that pure real happiness-- that you get when your best dreams come true-- is just an imaginary thing.
In life, you have to compromise. You have to adjust with the little happy moments you get to have and you have to learn to live with them.
I was doing the same. But I couldn't stop wondering when that big dream would come true, if it will ever. And if I could be as lief as the people who get their happily-ever-after's.
~Kaylen~
"Daddy!" A call came from outside and I panicked, quickly pulling out of Emerald, a drop of his saliva running half-way down my chin and my cock painfully aching for a release.
Zipping my pants just in time with the little kid bursting through the door, I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.
His eyes widened as he looked at me.
"K..." He began, trying to recall my name. "Kaylen!"
"Hey, buddy," My voice came out raspy as I leaned against the counter beside Emerald, panting.
"Did you come to see daddy?" He asked, coming closer to his father who was trying to catch his breath too.
We had gotten so involved in a steamy, passionate, quickie that we hadn't realized that there was a kid running around the house. And if he had happened to catch us doing the thing, he would've been scarred for life.
"Yeah," I replied with a smile and then glanced at Emerald who was blushing like crazy but smiling too. He wasn't helping the fact that my cock was still throbbing in my jeans, painful as ever.
"Baby, why don't you go to your room, I'll come with the breakfast in a while?" Emerald said to his son, who muttered an 'okay' and ran along. He was so soft and polite with his kid, quite identical to my dad, Noah.
I sighed out loud.
"You should've warned me that there was a kid in the house," I murmured, turning to him.
"As if that would've stopped you." He replied with a roll of the eyes, making me chuckle. Emerald was adorable sometimes.
Wait. What?
"So..." He trailed, crossing his arms upon his chest and giving me a 'We-Need-To-Talk' look.
"So?" I asked stupidly. I hated talking.
I hated chatting about anything serious that had anything to do with me. Why couldn't just people simply derive feelings from actions? Why did they have to use words to communicate serious stuff? Your mouth has a lot of other stuff to do, don't waste its time by talking!
"Whom did you sleep with, yesterday?" He asked, a tiny expression of hurt still evident in his eyes.
I knew I'd get this kind of reaction. I knew he won't be okay with it, but that's okay, I wasn't okay with it either. I hadn't thought I'd ever feel this way for anyone. I felt guilty. And out of all the things I've ever felt after sleeping with someone, that emotion has never been one of them.
Maybe it was because I knew Emerald wouldn't like it. He wouldn't want to sleep with someone who was sleeping around with other people. And I respected my professor, so I was bound to feel disappointed in myself when I disappoint him.
"My father's friend's son." I told him, feeling a little uncomfortable with this 'talk'. Like, okay, I admit that I did a wrong thing. Do we have to discuss it? I'd prefer going to some room and finishing what we had started.
"Last night?"
"Mhmm,"
"At his place or yours?"
"His."
"Was it your first meeting?"
"Yes,"
"Do your parents know?"
"No."
"Did you use a condom?"
I glared at him.
"Yes. Do you also want to know the position?" I asked.
He sighed.
"Never mind. Do you want breakfast?"
"I'm starving."
~
"Hey, Kaylen, do you know how to climb trees?"
"Jordon!"
I witnessed the silent argument the father-son duo were having. Glare v/s pout. And I was having an internal conflict in deciding which was cuter.
"Did you know why he isn't at school today?" Emerald turned to me.
"Nope," I replied, looking at Jordon sitting sheepishly on his seat, eating his food.
"Because he fell from the tree in the backyard!" Emerald said, going back to glaring his son. "And he still doesn't back off!"
"Emerald..." I began, chuckling and hoping he would embarrass his son a little less in front of someone whom the boy didn't even know much. "He's just a kid."
"Exactly! Just a kid! Kids don't climb trees!"
I rolled my eyes exasperatedly.
"Adults don't climb trees, Mr. Blake, kids do. And Jordon has learned his lesson, he won't do it again. Right, Jordon?"
"Yeah, daddy." The little guy nodded to his father before turning to me and subtly passing me a wink, which I equally subtly returned.
~
"Okay, so don't make noise. I'll be down here. You'll be fine, I'm watching you."
"Okay!" He whispered, giving me a thumbs up. Then I supported his tiny butt with my hands and helped him climb up.
Jordon was a very admirable kid. I mean, who climbs trees these days? And as cutely as that!
He swiftly went up the trunk, catching onto a low hanging branch and supporting his leg on it, before pushing himself further upwards. I watched the whole while carefully, ready to catch him if he happened to fall. But he was in no intention to stop.
"Kaylen!" He softly called from one of the top branches with his legs dangling in the air as he sat comfortably. "Throw me the chocolate now!"
I took the bar out of my pocket and aimed it at him. Then I tossed it upwards and it landed straight on his lap. He quickly unwrapped the chocolate and began eating it, looking around happily. He must have a great view from that height.
I stood there adoring the child while he enjoyed himself on his own. But it was about time Emerald came out of his bath and looked for us.
"Jordon! Now get down, before your dad comes." I called to him.
His eyes lit up suddenly.
"Hey, Kaylen, do you think you can catch me?"
My eyes widened.
"I can, but..."
"Please! It'll be fun!"
"Jordon, your dad won't--"
"I promise he won't know! Just promise you'll catch me. Don't drop!" He ordered.
"Alright, alright. I'll catch you just--"
"Aaahhh!" He screamed and before I knew it, he was falling down from the top of the tree. I quickly extended my arms and stepped forward right in time to catch him in my arms.
I swear, my heart stopped for a moment there.
"It was so cool!" He laughed in mirth, clinging onto my neck. I took some deep breaths to calm my frantic heartbeats. This kid was something else!
And then I looked at him and it suddenly began feeling like I didn't have a care in this world. It was just me, this moment and this little kid in my arms who was having the time of his life. And unknowingly, he was giving me the time of my life. I felt like I could be with him forever, as lief as I had ever been.
Laughter is contagious. And before I knew it, I was cackling along with him and swirling him around.
"Both of you inside. Now."
Jordon and I stopped, our eyes wide as we looked at each other on hearing the powerful command.
Shit!
