No fucking way.” Jeongguk gasped, sitting up and staring intently at Jimin.

“Yes way.” Jimin said.

“I’m gonna fucking kill you if you’re lying.” Jeongguk said, grabbing Jimin’s phone from his hands and reading the texts for himself.

“Ew gross. I didn’t need to see a picture of Yoongi’s balls.” Jeongguk gagged.

“That’s your own fault for being nosy and scrolling on a phone that’s not yours.” Jimin said, rolling his eyes and snatching his phone back.

“What made him change his mind?” Jay asked.

“Dunno.” Jimin shrugged. “Yoongi only said Tae wants to talk to Guk.”

“When?” Jeongguk asked.

“He doesn’t know either. Taehyung’s probably going to text you tomorrow then.” Jimin guessed.

“Holy shit!” Jeongguk gasped in excitement, shooting up from his seat and leaping over the chair, running up the stairs to go grab his phone charger. He came running down the stairs, two at a time, and went to plug his phone on charge right beside the tv.

“What?” He asked as Jay and Jimin stared at him. “I gotta be prepared.”

“Why don’t you go pick out an outfit while you’re at it.” Jay laughed sarcastically. “No wait Jeongguk I was just joking-” he said hastily, as Jeongguk began to stand up, obviously about to take Jay’s words literally. “Someone’s eager.”

“Well can you blame me? It's been nearly 3 weeks since I last spoke to him! I don’t want to mess this up.” Jeongguk sighed.

“It’ll be okay, Guk.” Jay reassured. “You can figure out what to wear when he texts you. But for now, don’t stress yourself out.”

“Yeah. You're right.” Jeongguk nodded. “D-do you think he wants to go on another date and patch things up?” He asked nervously.

“Honestly, I really don’t know.” Jay said. “If it wasn’t for his boyfriend, I’d probably think he wanted to give things another try, but-”

“BOYFRIEND?” Jeongguk repeated incredulously. “What the fuck do you mean boyfriend?”

“Well technically not his boyfriend but-”

“Jay.” Jeongguk glared. “What do you mean boyfriend? Why do you two keep leaving me out of things? Why can’t you just tell me?”

Jimin sighed.

“Well. Taehyung has a new “friend.” now.” Jimin said slowly.

“So a fuckbuddy?” Jeongguk asked.

Jimin winced.

“N-not quite. Yoongi told me this guy’s been crushing on Tae for years. And they’re a thing now.”

“What the fuck.” Jeongguk scoffed. “Why is he doing this to me?”

“They’re not official or anything.” Jay said. “And apparently Tae doesn’t even like the guy.”

“Yeah. They're together but not actually together. I'm not even sure if they’ve kissed.” Jimin said.

“So why the fuck are they together? Why has Tae been making me feel like shit this whole time, while he’s stringing along some crusty ass boytoy?” Jeongguk asked angrily.

“Dunno.” Jay shrugged.

“Guess he’s not totally innocent in this whole thing as well.” Jimin said.

“It’s not even been a month.” Jeongguk huffed. “How can he replace me in less than a month, and then have the audacity to play the victim?”

“This sucks.” Jimin sighed.

“Thank you captain obvious.” Jeongguk snapped sarcastically.

“I think it’s best to just wait and ask him and find out for yourself when you two meet up.” Jay said wisely. “There’s nothing else we can do.”

Jeongguk nodded slowly.

“Let’s just go to bed.” Jimin suggested. “We still have to go to work tomorrow.”

“You two have to go to work tomorrow.” Jeongguk corrected, “As the CEO, I can do wha-”

“CEO my foot.” Jimin snorted.

“All you do is trail behind your dad all day.” Jay laughed. “I’ve seen more spines at a jellyfish convention.”

“You’re like the deputy head of JJC.” Jimin said. “Nearly there but not quite.”

Jeongguk sat and glared at his friends.

“You guys are so shit. You can’t even allow me to sulk in peace.” He huffed.

“I’m gonna go brush my teeth.” Jay said, purposefully ignoring Jeongguk. “It’s the black toothbrush that’s mine, right?” He said, standing up.

“The black one’s mine.” Jeongguk said. “Yours is the red one.”

“Yeah but I feel like using the black one today.” Jay shrugged, walking towards the stairs.

“Jay!” Jeongguk called out.

“JAY!”

“JAY!” He called louder as Jay ignored him on purpose and began to walk faster to the stairs.

“JAY! YOU PRICK! DON’T YOU DARE USE MY TOOTHRBUSH!” Jeongguk yelled, chasing after Jay who was now running up the stairs and giggling.

Jimin smiled softly and slowly got up and walked up the stairs, ready to stop Jay and Jeongguk from strangling each other to death.

Hopefully things would work out with Taehyung tomorrow.

*******

“Taehyung just hurry up and text him.” Yoongi sighed. “You can’t keep stalling forever.”

Taehyung was sat at home on his bed, biting his lip nervously as he stared at his phone screen.

“I feel like such an asshole.” Tae sighed.

“Well, you certainly have been. There really is no denying that.” Yoongi said honestly, feeling bad as Taehyung’s face fell.

“But you can try to amend that, by having a proper adult conversation with him, rather than running away from your problems.” Yoongi said.

Taehyung nodded his head, his now brown hair flopping into his face. He’d decided to ditch the blonde look and go back to his natural hair colour. Yeonjun had loved the transition and was incredibly happy that he and Taehyung had matching hair.

“You’re right. I need to sort this out. For myself and for Junnie.”

“There ya go.” Yoongi smiled softly. “Now put on your big boy pants and send Jeongguk a text. He's already sent you so many.”

“Yeah.” Taehyung said, taking a deep breath and sending Jeongguk a message.

Taehyung
Hey Guk. I’m sorry for avoiding you like an idiot. I feel like we should talk things out. Let me know when you’re free.

“See! That wasn’t so bad.” Yoongi said. “Now you just wait a while and see what he-”

Taehyung’s phone pinged and cut Yoongi off.

“Never mind.” Yoongi said.

Jeongguk
I think it’s time we talk, too. Does tonight at my house work for you? You can bring Junnie if you want to.

Taehyung
We’ll come by at 5-6

Jeongguk
Okay

Taehyung sighed and sat up.

“We’re gonna meet up at his house. I'm bringing Yeonjun too.” He said.

“See! Progress!” Yoongi said.

“Yeah. But I'm nervous.” Tae said. “What if he hates me?”

“I doubt that, Tae. You were telling me about how he wanted to talk to you at the restaurant, so I don’t think he hates you. But with the way Minnie was describing it, he might be a bit pissed off.” Yoongi warned.

Taehyung sighed.

“Fingers crossed we can work things out. I can’t believe it was stupid enough to ignore him for 3 whole weeks and not wait for an explanation. Jin was right; it was irrational.”

“Yeah. I won’t lie, I do agree with him. Fair enough a couple of days, but 3 weeks was a bit dramatic.” Yoongi said.

Taehyung looked at him questioningly for a while.

“Wh-what?” Yoongi asked. “Is there something on my face?”

“No. It's not that. It's just- you were so angry at him like two days ago. How come you’re defending him now?” Taehyung asked curiously. He wasn’t mad or upset, because quite frankly, he agreed with Yoongi. He just wanted to know what caused his friend to have a change of heart.

“I just feel bad, that’s all.” Yoongi said unconvincingly.

“Yoongi.” Taehyung said, “You’re not fooling anyone with that act.”

“Wh-what!? It's the truth!” Yoongi said. “Why don’t you believe me?”

“Because I know you, Yoonie. You rarely ever change your stance in an argument, unless you find out new information.” Taehyung said.

“Pardon me, Sherlock.” Yoongi said.

“What do you know?” Taehyung asked.

“N-nothing.” Yoongi denied. “I don’t know any more than you do. I just feel bad for Jeongguk. That's all.”

“Oh my god you know something, don’t you?” Taehyung pressed. “What did you find out?”

“Tae.” Yoongi whined. “I can’t tell you.”

“But-”

“It’s not my place to tell. It wasn’t even my place to find out.” Yoongi said firmly. “I’m sure Jeongguk will tell you when the time is right.”

Taehyung huffed.

“Sorry.” Yoongi said.

“No, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have asked.” Tae said, standing up from the bed. “I gotta get Junnie ready to go, anyways. He's been asking about Gukkie for weeks. He’ll be so excited to see him later on.”

“I’m supposed to meet Minnie later anyways, so I'll just leave now.” Yoongi said, following Taehyung out of the room.

“I’ll see you later?”

“Yeah. Bye Yoonie. Love you lots.” Taehyung smiled, giving his friend a hug, before walking off to Yeonjun’s playroom downstairs.

“Junnie.” He called out, walking into the colourful room and looking at his son who was sprawled out on the floor, staring at the ceiling. “A-are you okay?”

“Yeah. M'okay daddy.” Yeonjun replied.

Why are you just lying on the floor? Did you fall?” Tae asked, sitting down on the floor beside his son.

“No. I was bored, so I wanted to go starglazing.” Yeonjun explained.

“It’s stargazing, baby. And, it needs to be night time to star gaze. And...you also need to be...outside.” Taehyung said, trying not to laugh at his son.

Yeonjun huffed.

“Well I’m doing it my way.”

“Okay then Junnie. You can do it your way.” Taehyung said calmly. “But you should finish up soon, because we have to go out later on.”

“To where? Are we going to go to the pizza shop!? You promised last time daddy!” Yeonjun asked excitedly, sitting up and staring at Taehyung.

“I know I promised, Junnie. But we won’t go today. We're going somewhere else.”

“Where?” Yeonjun pouted. “I don’t wanna go if there’s no pizza.”

“Well. We're going to Mr Gukkie’s house.” Taehyung said.

“Really?” Yeonjun gasped, standing up and jumping up and down excitedly. “We’re going to see Mr Gukkie?”

“Yeah. You don’t have to come if you don’t wa-”

“I’m gonna show him the picture I made!” Yeonjun grinned, running out of the room in search for his artwork. “And my new action figure!”

Taehyung smiled to himself.

“We’ll leave in an hour, so make sure you go to the toilet and get yourself a snack.” Taehyung instructed. “And don’t forget-”

“I need to find my ironman socks!” Yeonjun gasped.

“-to put on your socks.” Taehyung laughed, standing up from the floor and leaving the room to change clothes.

He felt nervous and unsure about how things would unfold at Jeongguk’s house, and he was both anticipating and dreading meeting him again. He changed outfits several times and spent far too long styling his hair, needing something to distract himself from the worry bubbling in his gut.

He debated on straightening his hair, but then decided against it, not wanting to look like to tried too hard. Taehyung sighed and sat down on his bed, willing his erratic heart beat to slow down.

An hour passed and the two Kims were ready to leave the house. Yeonjun would not stop talking about how much he’d missed Jeongguk and how excited he was to show him his drawings.

“You really like Mr Gukkie, huh.” Taehyung said as he buckled his son into the car

“Yeah! Mr Gukkie is awesome!” He grinned. “I was sad without him. Uncle Bogum is okay but Mr Gukkie is more fun.”

“Well you can tell him all about your toys when we get there. I'm sure he’s missed you too.” Taehyung smiled softly as they began the long drive to Jeongguk’s house. He followed the directions of the SATNAV and drove all the way there in about 40 minutes.

It was strange, seeing the house after so long, and his stomach twisted with nervousness. He pressed the button on the gate and it buzzed open, allowing him to drive down the well-lit driveway of Jeongguk’s mansion home.

He felt incredibly awkward parking his old and grey Toyota Yaris next to Jeongguk’s bright red mustang, but he brushed it off and got out, holding Yeonjun’s hand as they rang the doorbell and waited for Jeongguk to open the door.

The giant black door slid open to reveal the ever-gorgeous Jeongguk, standing there in all his muscular, six-foot glory. His long, black hair was pushed back from his face with a headband, and he was wearing a big black over-sized fluffy jumper which made him look so soft and tiny. His cheeks were tinted an adorable pink as he stared at Taehyung and Yeonjun in front of him.

Taehyung and Jeongguk stood there in silence, staring at each other and feeling a whirlwind of emotions run through their veins.

In Jeongguk's eyes, Taehyung was just as beautiful as ever. His brown hair was a small surprise, but it only served to make him look even cuter. He smelt faintly of cinnamon and Jeongguk's heart melted at the familiarity of it all. He had never knew how much he'd truly missed Taehyung, until the baker was standing in front of him in that moment, looking all soft and kissable.

“Mr Gukkie look at my socks!” Yeonjun grinned, breaking the silence by lifting his foot up for Jeongguk to see. He leant all his weight onto Taehyung and wiggled his foot in the air happily. “It has ironman on it! Daddy got them for me!”

Jeongguk finally tore his eyes away from Taehyung’s warm brown ones and smiled kindly at Yeonjun.

“Your socks are awesome, Junnie. Iron man is my favourite.” He smiled.

“Y-Yeonjunnie where are your shoes?” Taehyung asked, only just noticing his son standing there in his socks.

“I left them in the car so I wouldn’t forget to show Mr Gukkie my socks!” Yeonjun smiled proudly.

“Baby-” Taehyung sighed, about to tell Yeonjun off, but Jeongguk’s warm chuckle stopped him in his tracks.

“You’re adorable, Junnie. Always full of surprises. C’mon. Let's get you and Daddy inside so we can talk some more.” Jeongguk said, stepping out of the way and letting the Kims in before closing the door.

They sat down in the living room and Yeonjun found this was prime time to bring out his new action figure, explaining his backstory in detail to both Jeongguk and Taehyung with absolute seriousness.

“-which is why he has to save the people otherwise mr bad robot will take over the world!” He concluded.

“That’s very brave of him.” Jeongguk smiled. “Tell Mr Superhero I said thanks for all his hard work.”

Yeonjun smiled.

“C-Can I have some paper? So I can draw you a picture of Mr Superhero and he can protect you too!”

“No problem little man.” Jeongguk said kindly, leading Junnie into the downstairs office and giving him some paper and pencils. “You can stay in here and draw, because me and your daddy are going to be having a long conversation.”

“About what?” Yeonjun asked curiously.

“About boring old adult stuff.” Jeongguk smiled, ruffling Yeonjun’s hair. “Like maths and-”

“Yuck.” Yeonjun said. “I will stay in here and draw. I hate maths."

"No problem. Just call for me or your dad if you need anything." Jeongguk smiled before leaving the room and going back to Taehyung.

The baker was sitting on the couch, biting his pink lips and twiddling his fingers nervously.

He looked up as Jeongguk sat in front of him and he offered a small smile.

"It's nice to see you again, Tae." Jeongguk said genuinely.

"You too, Guk."

"Your hair is brown." Jeongguk said obviously. He sighed, not knowing how to break the ice.

"Yeah. I ditched the blonde and went back to my natural hair colour. I'm not sure if I like it though." Tae explained.

"Well I like it. You look like an adorable little prince." Jeongguk chuckled softly before he could stop himself.

Taehyung smiled shyly and stared at the ground as his cheeks turned pink.

"Th-thanks."

Jeongguk allowed the conversation to die, and soon the living room was filled with silence again. Neither one of them wanted to speak, yet both of them had a thousand things to say.

Jeongguk bit his lip, knowing they'd have to start a real conversation sooner or later.

He sighed, taking a deep breath and making direct eye contact with Taehyung.

"We have a lot to talk about." He began, "but I first just wanted to apologise. I know I've been too pushy and inconsiderate and I probably caused you a lot of stress. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry."

Taehyung stared at him for a bit.

"Me too, Guk. I don't know what came over me, and why I thought it was a good idea to ignore you this whole time, rather than try to fix things, but I-I'm sorry too." Taehyung said.

"I'm glad we're on the same page, Tae. We have a long conversation ahead of us, but this is a nice start." Jeongguk smiled softly.

"Yeah." Tae agreed. "I guess we should start then."

Jeongguk nodded.

"Do you wanna start or should I?" Tae asked, watching as Jeongguk shrugged in response.

"Dunno. Maybe I'll go first before I chicken out." Jeongguk smiled sheepishly. "You can ask me anything you want to know. Any question at all."

Taehyung sighed and bit his lip.

"I-I don't know if this is an appropriate question." He mumbled. "I just want to fix things between us, but I'm scared I'll just make it worse."

Jeongguk sighed and looked at Taehyung kindly.

"It's okay. Whatever it is you want to ask, just say it. I want to fix things between us, too."

"O-okay then. But promise you'll tell me if you're uncomfortable?" Taehyung pleaded.

"I promise."

"O-okay. My question is:

What happened between you and Hoseok?"
