"Sunmi?"
Sunmi rolled her eyes and stared at Taehyung with a hateful glare.
"What do you want? You're ruining my time with daddy." Sunmi drawled, ignoring how Jeongguk gagged and tried to move away from her.
"Are you serious right now?" Taehyung asked.
Sunmi sighed, turning to face Taehyung.
"Did I give you a blowjob or something? You seem sooooo familiar."
"Are you fucking kidding?" Taehyung shouted. "You're supposed to be looking after my son!"
"Oooohhhhh! You're the guy with the sweet shop! You're out of strawberry laces, by the way. I think you sho-"
"SUNMI WHERE THE FUCK IS MY CHILD!" Taehyung screamed, beginning to frantically look for Yeonjun.
"Relaaaaaxx!" She drunkenly slurred. "I didn't leave him in the car or anything; I took him with me! I don't know where he is now, though. Stopped caring once I caught sight of this hunk right here." She winked at Jeongguk.
"Fuck. Fuck. FUCK!" Taehyung chanted, pushing and shoving his way though the grand hall, trying to find his kid. Everyone seemed to have gone back to their own conversations, which was good because Taehyung knew he wouldn't be able to handle the pressure with everyone looking at him.
"Junnie!" He called, even though he knew he couldn't be heard over the crowd. "Yeonjunnie!"
Taehyung ignored Jeongguk calling his name, and kept pushing his way through the crowd. He checked the bathrooms, the staircases, the outside area, and even the car park, but Yeonjun was nowhere to be found.
He began to hyperventilate, tears clouding his vision and panic clouding his head. A heavy sob wracked through him and his knees buckled, but instead of meeting the cold, unforgiving ground, he was swept up into the warm comforting embrace of Jeon Jeongguk.
"Shh shhhh Taehyung. S'alright. We'll find Junnie, don't worry." Jeongguk soothed.
"H-he's not safe here. H-hurt! He's g-gonna get hurt! A-and all the b-bruises a-and th-"
Jeongguk had no idea what Taehyung was talking about, but he knew it couldn't be a good thing. He wiped Taehyung's tears and stared into his eyes.
"I sent a few people to take care of Sunmi, so you don't have to worry about her anymore. Others are also looking for Junnie as well. We'll find him, okay? Let's go look around some more, yeah? Don't cry Tae." He whispered.
Taehyung nodded feebly, beginning to walk back towards the hall. Jeongguk's hand slowly slipped into his own, and Taehyung felt himself relax a little bit.
Nearly 10 more minutes of frantic searching passed, and Taehyung was on the verge of a breakdown, until he saw a familiar clump of curly brown hair, over by the fountain. He pulled his hand out of Jeongguk's hold and bolted towards the other end of the large gardens, weaving in and out of the oblivious people.
"YEONJUN!" He screamed, leaning over into the fountain and scooping up his child. Yeonjun began crying, coughing and sputtering as he bawled in Taehyung's embrace. Taehyung was also crying, sniffling and hiccupping as he patted Yeonjun's back to help him cough the water out.
How the fuck could I let this happen? Taehyung thought miserably. Yeonjun deserves so much better.
Jeongguk came running shortly after, with a first-aid kit in his arms. He took one look at Taehyung's glossy eyes and Yeonjun's shaking figure, and instantly his heart broke.
He pulled them both into his embrace, not at all minding that they were wet, and he hugged them like he was never going to let them go.
He never wanted to let them go.
********
"Y-you really don't have to!" Taehyung protested as he got into the elevator. "We can just take a cab-"
"No." Jeongguk said firmly.
"O-okay." Taehyung mumbled, rocking Junnie side to side.
The shiny doors dinged open and Jeongguk took Taehyung's hand, leading them out of the elevator and down the hallways to his office.
He pushed open the door with the golden plaque which read Jeon Jeongguk in swirly writing. It looked fucking expensive. But to be fair, his whole office looked expensive, with the seemingly eternal monochrome theme.
A tall black lamp stood next to the table with a mountain of paperwork on top.
Taehyung's heart panged.
There was a grey leather chair that sat in the open, and Taehyung wanted nothing more than to lie on that chair forever.
"You can sit down if you wanna." Jeongguk mumbled. "I'll get you guys some clothes."
"Y-you really don't have to. You've done more than en-"
"I want to, Taehyung. Let me help you guys." Jeongguk said softly, before
disappearing through a large black door. Taehyung threw himself onto the chair, still cradling a shaken up Yeonjun in his arms.
"Oh god, Junnie. I'm so sorry I let this happen to you. I should have realised that sket was nothing but trouble." He mumbled.
Yeonjun was still sniffling, soaking wet from falling inside the fountain. He was holding onto Taehyung for dear life and Taehyung's heart was breaking for him.
"Of all swear words to say infront of a kid, you said one of the worst ones." Jeongguk laughed softly as he re-entered the room. He was holding two large black tshirts and a pair of sweatpants.
"Yeonjun's too small for literally everything, so I just got him a shirt so he doesn't have to stay in wet clothes. I got you one too, because I only have black shirts with me." He laughed.
I thought it would be cute to see you two match. Jeongguk secretly thought.
"T-thanks." Taehyung mumbled as Jeongguk handed him the clothes.
"There's a bathroom behind that second door over there," Jeongguk pointed, "You and Junnie can take a bath if you want, so you don't catch a cold."
"Why do you have a bathroom in your office?" Taehyung asked in confusion.
"O-oh. Well sometimes I have to stay overnight coz I've got loads of work to do. Just makes it a bit easier to have some stuff here, I guess." Jeongguk smiled sheepishly.
Taehyung's smile dropped when he realised how stressed Jeongguk really was, all the time.
"T-thanks for the bath." Taehyung mumbled as he took Junnie into the room and closed the door. For some reason, he didn't feel like he needed to lock it.
He ran the bath, getting Yeonjun inside first before going in himself. Tae cradled his child and wiped him clean, fighting back the tears as the gravity of the situation finally settled in.
Yeonjun nearly drowned.
They got out of the bath and Taehyung carefully dressed Yeonjun in Jeongguk's shirt, smiling softly at the way Yeonjun snuggled closer towards the scent. Taehyung put on the clothes Jeongguk gave him and quietly stepped out of the bathroom, Yeonjun following behind. Jeongguk was sitting at his desk, busy with the mountain of paperwork that sat all around him.
Taehyung placed Yeonjun on the grey couch, and shuffled towards Jeongguk's desk. He opened his mouth to tell him that they were going to leave, but a choked sob escaped his lips before he could even form the words. At the sound of Taehyung crying, Jeongguk snapped his head up, looking at the blonde with sympathetic eyes as he walked round and pulled Tae into a tight hug. Jeongguk didn't say anything, just let Taehyung cry into his chest. That is until, there was some sniffling coming from across the room. Jeongguk let Taehyung go for a second, before he returned, holding Yeonjun is his arms too. Jeon rocked them both back and forth, comforting the two boys as they cried together.
"It's gonna be alright, Tae. I'm here for you two now. I'm gonna keep you safe." Jeongguk whispered.
"I promise."
*************
Jeongguk had insisted that they stayed at his place that night. The mood had naturally gotten lighter and they were all smiling together like a real family. He'd be damned if he let it end there.
"It's far too late to send you two all the way home this late at night." He said as they stood in the elevator.
"It's only 5pm, Jeongguk." Taehyung said. Jeongguk hadn't let go of Yeonjun after all that time, carrying the worn-out boy on his hip like he was a professional dad.
Taehung's heart felt fuzzy at the thought.
"Well I don't want you two to have to take a cab. There's dangerous men out there!"
"And who's to say you're not a dangerous man? You could take Junnie and run right now."
Jeongguk gasped dramatically.
"I am so offended." He pouted, "I'm not a creepy old man who steals kids! And besides, if I were to take one of you two somewhere private with me, then it would not be your kid, if you know what I'm saying." he laughed hysterically.
Taehyung chose not to say anything, ears burning bright red as he rushed out of the elevator. He could hear Jeongguk cackling behind him.
"Hey Taehyung!" He called. "Car's this way!"
"Fuck you!" Taehyung shouted from across the car park. He turned around and began to walk towards Jeongguk, laughing his head off. It was a miracle that Yeonjun hadn't woken up, considering the racket the two were making. Jeongguk stopped in front of a shiny black beast on wheels, and it looked like it was ready to eat Taehyung alive.
"Woah." Taehyung breathed in awe, "Your car is so fucking cool."
Jeongguk smiled proudly, "It's my favourite one."
"Favourite, as in, you have more than one car?" Taehyung gasped, "What happened to that 'rags to riches' shit you were saying earlier on?"
Jeongguk laughed, "There's no point going from rags to riches if I'm still gonna behave like I'm poor, is there?"
"Fair point." Taehyung mumbled as the car doors began to slide open. The interior was basically pitch black, save for the deep red leather seats and the shiny buttons on the dashboard.
"Holy shit." Taehyung gasped.
"You know, for someone with a kid, you swear like a sailor." Jeongguk laughed.
"Piss off." Taehyung laughed. "I have to get it out of my system before Junnie wakes up again. It's such a fucking hassle having to say 'oh shoot' all the time."
Jeongguk laughed, shifting Yeonjun from off his back and onto his front.
"Shit."
"What?"
"I don't have a car seat." He mumbled.
"Oh."
"..."
"..."
"Well I can drive us to-"
"Kim Taehyung you will not drive my car, or you'll fucking kill us all." Jeongguk laughed.
"Hey!" Tae pouted. "I would not kill us all. I've been driving for like 5 years!"
"Really?" Jeongguk asked.
Taehyung nodded proudly. "I drive a very sexy Toyota."
Jeongguk laughed, "You seem so...incapable, though."
"As a successful business owner, I'd like to disagree. Not everyone can be some hotshot CEO."
"Hotshot?" Jeongguk laughed.
"You know, technically I'm a CEO too."
"Shut up and get in the car, Taehyung."
"Yes sir!" Taehyung said, climbing inside the car.
"I like the sound of that." Jeongguk smirked.
"Shut up and give me my child, Jeongguk."
"Touché" Jeongguk chuckled as he sat Yeonjun in the seat next to Taehyung.
"I trust you'll take of him and make sure he doesn't fall off." Jeongguk said.
"Now you sound like you're his father." Taehyung giggled.
Jeongguk remained silent as he got into the driver's seat, cheeks a bit pink in
embarrassment.
His thoughts were swimming wildly as he pulled out of the car park and began to drive home.

Uh and that's a longass chapter
That took forever to write and I'm sorry for the long wait! 😚😚 Hopefully my hand heals quickly and I'll be able to update faster. It's only been a week tho so I don't think the wait was that bad 🤷🏽♀️ As always my shit is unedited but I physically can't go back thru that even if I wanted to 😂😂
Do you think Taehyung is a bad parent for leaving Yeonjun with Sunmi? Why/why not?
What do you think of Taekook's relationship so far?
Thanks for being patient with me and for all your kind words! ❤❤
