Sometimes it takes heartbreak to make us see we are worth so much more than we're settling for

Morning came soon as she prepared herself for busy day. Usually her day would begin with Leon pouncing her to wake up. Then she would get ready while helping Leon. Hoseok would join her often to discuss things with her and spent some time with Leon. After all he is his favorite uncle according to Hoseok.

"Leon, if you don't stop playing you will get late to school" she warned him when he refused to leave shower. "I will buy you ice cream in evening if you listen to me" he cheered listening to it and instantly got out. "Can we get the ice cream before school mommy?" he made those puppy eyes which she cannot say no to. "Only one" he jumped up and down in excitement making her laugh at him. She went to her room when she helped him get ready.

She took quick shower and dried her hair. She changed in to white shirt with black skirt which reached above her knees. She paired it with white jacket and let her hair loose. She had brown hair which reached her waist. She liked to keep her makeup bare always. She grabbed her purse and went downstairs. "Y/n, your breakfast is ready" Nadia pointed to the dining table. "Leon want ice cream so we will eat outside" Nadia frowned at her reply. Nadia is the head servant and chef of this house. She has been working in this house for past thirty years. She practically raised Y/n and Aria.

She used to adore Y/n who was full of life and kindness but now every time she look at her she can see hollow person who doesn't feel anything. That boy ruined her completely. She sighed when she realized she already left. "Should I take it away?" she turned to look at Maria. She nodded her head to which she started working. Maria and Raven were two other people who work in this house along with Nadia.

"Mommy can we eat pancakes today?" Leon was sitting in her lap as driver drove them to their destination. "Sure champ" she ordered driver to drive to their favorite store. She sat in corner and ordered their food. Leon was playing with flower placed on the table when he accidentally hit the water jug on the table. It was open restaurant so people were passing by them. To their luck it fell on a man who was passing the road.

"I am so sorry" Y/n apologized watching the said man coat is drenched with water. "That's ok" man whispered looking at his clothes. He was going to visit one of his investors but his dress was ruined. "Leon, apologize now" she told him sternly. "I am sorry sir" Leon did felt guilty for troubling him. "It's ok kid. Mistakes happen" he ruffled Leon hair smiling gently at him. "I will change this. It's just water"

"Should we drop you?" Y/n asked hoping she can help. "My car is there. I wanted to get a coffee" he informed her now turning his attention to her. He couldn't help but stare at her beauty. She wasn't gorgeous. She was average but her silky brown hair waved in air making her seem like some angel. Her brown eyes were so innocent which could make you think she is just naïve. But her dressing and words made her seem smart.

"Are you listening?" he snapped out and looked at her. "Don't bother. I will be fine" he smiled not knowing what she was saying. "I am Jin" he offered his hand to shake which she took confidently. "Y/n" she smiled seeing he is not that bad. His dress and looks gave away he is some rich boy but he do have manners. "I will see you around then" With that they parted ways but little did Jin know he is going to see her soon.

"Leon let's finish breakfast then I will drop you at school" they didn't have any more accidents luckily. She reached her office just in time. By the time she reached her room Hoseok was already waiting for her. "Hey" she greeted him before taking her seat. "You are late today" she opened her laptop and looked at the files already placed on her table. "I told Chloe to bring these files"

"How was the meeting yesterday?" she wanted to ask him about it yesterday but after she woke up Leon came and they played till dinner. In her dark life he was the only light of ray. "It went well. He is thinks we are capable enough but he wants to meet president before he finalize the deal" I frowned at this. Though Y/n is officially president of this company she has never objected something Hoseok agreed on. Hoseok works as vice president of this company.

She didn't take him cause he is a friend. But Hoseok is really good at decision making. He is smart and can be stern when he is needed to be. "He asked to meet you at his home. I sent the address and details to Chloe. Just check with her and go at four in the evening" Y/n nodded at him listening attentively. She checked the time and realized she has a meeting with her staff.

"It is time ma'am" Chloe addressed her and she walked to meeting room which on floor below hers. She walked confidently ignoring stares of others in the room. "Please seat" they all sat and started the presentation. "We have achieved our target in client acquisition but we are unable to meet end deadlines" she frowned hearing her manager speak. "Why is that?"

"We fell short of a team last month and work load was getting more" she slammed her hand on table making him flinch. "I am paying you to work. If you don't have enough team why you didn't inform HR team and hire few more?" he couldn't answer her out of fear. "How many projects are pending?" he checked the files and replied. "Four" she rubbed her head in frustration. "I want two of your teams to work over time from today till we finish the projects. Inform Stacey to start the hiring process. You will get your pay for overtime but I need all the work done by two weeks" with that she got up finishing the meeting.

She didn't care what others thought of her. For her work is the only thing she can find solace in. after all she lost all her emotions five years back. "You should stop being so hard" she heard Hoseok comment. "When I was soft no one took me seriously" he shook his head. "I am talking about yourself. You are being too harsh on yourself" she smiled which seemed dead to Hoseok. "When I was soft and nice everyone used me. When I am stern no one wants to be near me. I tried so hard to pretend to be fine that I don't even recognize myself"

"I don't remember how my old self was at all. It is like I am completely different person" Hosoek smiled sadly at his friend. She was the light of their lives. So happy and always smiling but he ruined her. He hated himself for being unable to help her. He wanted a miracle which could bring her back to him. Only if he knew bringing her back would break her more.

"I am leaving" She informed Chloe and assigned few works to her. Hoseok secretary has quit few days back due to her pregnancy and since then Chloe has been managing both of their works. Chloe is efficient so Hoseok didn't bother getting another secretary. "I will call Tom and inform him to pick Leon" she thanked Chloe before leaving. She checked the address as she got in car. Since Tom is not available she will be driving herself.

"Hi, I am here to meet Mr. Kim" she told a girl who might be maid. She waited in living room when she heard footsteps. "Hi Y/n" she looked surprised at the familiar man who she met in the morning. "Jin" he smiled gesturing her to sit. "I had my doubts when you said your name but I am sure now" he smiled which made look like the most handsome man. "I didn't know it is you"

"So shall we start?" she asked and he nodded allowing her to speak. She explained everything perfectly answering all his questions. "I believe this is the best blue print I have got so far but I liked one more quotation too" she waited for him speak as she know he wasn't finished. "I want both of you to work together for this one" working with other companies wasn't a new thing. As this is biggest project they have handled so far they can take help of other architects too.

"If you agree to work with architect of other company for this one building I can hand over the project to you. I liked your idea better" she can understand where he is coming from. This particular building which he is talking about will be the main building of this project. But her ego was hurt as he didn't completely trust them. "May I know who is that architect?"

"Are you agreeing to this deal?" she shrugged her shoulders seeing why not. She didn't tell him but they are in need of this project. They didn't have much clients and this project could bring them in to profits. She struggled a lot to bring this company out of debt which happened five years ago. To avoid such cases she needed this project.

"He is here so you can meet him" she smoothened her dress to meet the said man. She turned around when she heard the footsteps only to stop in her heels. "Hi Miss. Y/n. It is nice meeting you" he smirked knowing she didn't expect this. Min Yoongi. The man who ruined her life five years back has came back again.
