Jack paced nervously as Dr. Smiley worked to stitch Elizabeth's wound.

Lazari, Lulu, and Clockwork, did their best to keep Jack calm.

Libby was out cold as she was carried upstairs to the room that she and Jack now shared.

112 stitches were holding the flesh closed.

Jack held her delicate hand as he hung his head shamefully.

Liu and Jeff walked in and placed their hands on his shoulders.

"Jack, it'll be alright. Libs a tough girl" Jeff said with a genuine smile.

"She nearly died because of me"

"You could have just left her, but you didn't. You ran to her aid and carried her to safety" Liu responded.

".....mnngh......Jack.....?" She muttered as her eyes fluttered open slowly.

By now the brothers had left to give them privacy.

She tried sitting up only to be stopped.

"Don't try moving too much or you'll pop your stitches"

She proceeded to lay back down as she was told.

"Are you okay Jack? He didn't hurt you did he?" She grasped his hand gently.

"I'm fine, Libby, he didn't get a chance to do anything" he smiled slightly as he brushed her hair out of her face.

Slenderman walked in with Zalgo.

"Child, what happened in the woods?"

"I was attacked by Pumpkin head and I fear that now that he is dead, his sister Scarecrow will come after me next."

"Pumpkin head? My word, what in the name of Dante's inferno is Skin taker up to?" Zalgo pondered about the newly acquired information.

"Child, Lord Zalgo and I will look into these matters, but for now you need rest"

"Oh and young one.....welcome to the family" Zalgo said smirking as the two beings exited the room.

Jack looked down at her drowsy form.

"Get some rest dear" he rubbed his hand gently against her cheek.

Just as he stood to leave, her small hand clasped around his much larger one.

"Please stay with me" she uttered quietly enough for him alone to hear.

With a warm smile, he laid himself along the edge of the bed.

"As you wish"

Hours later, Jack woke up with his arm around her waist as she slept peacefully.

She too began to stir.

"Have a nice nap kiddo?" He grinned.

"Mhm. Hey Jack, I'm kinda hungry can you bring me something to eat?"

"Of course! I'll be right back"

As Jack passed the doors to Slenderman's office, he overheard the following conversation between Zalgo and Slender.

["Slender, Miss Elizabeth has a bounty on her head"

"How did you find out?"

"By asking around the underworld"

"How big of a bounty are we talking?"

"1000k alive. There's more to this than meets the eye, Adrian"

"I agree. He's not working alone"]

Jack could have puked from hearing that. His sweet star is in more danger than he thought.
