Abbie POV:

It was a normal day, I was at the coffee shop sipping my drink and watching Zach Hutch, (my crush, since like, ever) order a drink.

I was basically drooling over him when my best friend, Riley walks up to me with her drink.

"You want a cookie or you gonna keep eating your lip while stalking Zach Hutch?" Riley asks me.

I shake myself out of my daze and meet her eyes.

"Huh?" I ask and Riley laughs.

"Wow. You must have it bad if you're put in such a trance by him. " Riley says as she sits down at the table beside me.

"What do you mean?" I ask and Riley snickers.

"Wow. You're totally clueless." Riley says.

I give her a confused look.

"You totally have it all in for Zach Hutch." Riley says and I cover her mouth.

"Do not! And shush! He'll hear you!" I say shushing her.

She smirks and removes my hand from her mouth.

Zach looks in our direction and smiles, while waving.

I turn to Riley. "He waved at me! What do I do??" I say panicking.

"Idiot. You wave back, like a normal human being." Riley says.

Zach starts walking in our direction and I sink down under the table.

"Abbie! Come on!" Riley says as Zach comes over.

She looks up from yelling at me to greet Zach.

"Hey, Zach!" Riley says.

"Hi, Riley." Zach says. He looks at where I'm hiding under the table.

"Uh..Hi, Abbie." Zach says and just the sound of his voice makes me blush.

He sits down at the table, which just makes me even more nervous.

"U-U-u-h-h-h H-h-h-hi Z-." I continue to stutter and mutter other inhuman mumbles until Riley cuts me off.

"She said Hi." Riley covers for me.

I mouth "thank you." To her and she motions at Zach and mouths back "Talk to him." I shake my head and she glares at me.

"Uhh. Oh..Kay then." Zach says.

"Zach! Come on!" A guy yells.

"Coming!" Zach replies and turns back to us while getting up.

"Well, I gotta go. But maybe I'll see you guys, later.." Zach says still staring at me from ynder the table.

"Bye, Zach." Riley says as she pokes me to say goodbye to him.

"B-Bye Z-Z-Zach." I manage to stutter out.

I come out from my spot under the table and swoon as I watch Zach walk away laughing his adorable laugh.

I sigh happily as Riley rolls her eyes. "For God's sake, Abbs." Riley says.

"I know. I totally suck at talking to Zach, but I can't help it. He's so perfect that I can't even make up a single sentance around him. When I look into his eyes, I lose all control and my world slows. I get butterflies in my stomach and my knees fell weak. And you saw how talking to him went." I say and Riley sighs.

"We so have to work on that, girl." Riley says.

"I know." I sigh.

"Well, come on. Let's go." Riley says getting up.

I follow her and we laugh, talking about just whatever.

We're walking back when we run into the most annoying guy I've ever met.

Hunter Cody.

He was Zach's twin brother.

It was so weird how they were born from the same genes but soo diffrent.

Zach was sweet  and cute. He was perfect. Evreyone adored him. I've known him ever since we were kids and I've liked him ever since we met.

But Hunter, was a totally diffrent story.

He knew I was head over heels in love with his brother, and he always flirts with me. I think he only flirts with me to toy with my emotions.

He just wants to make me mad and annoy me, which he does. On a daily  basis.

We run into him and we all fall on the side walk.

"Hey! Watch it!" I say as stand and help Riley up.

I look to see who it is and groan. My eyes rolling over the moon.

Speak of the devil.

"Hello, Riley. Hey, Abbie." Hunter says.

I exhale.

"Whatever. Just leave us alone, Hunter." I say.

"Why, that's awfully rude, Abbie." Hunter says.

"Do I look like I care about that? Come on, Riley." I say and grab Riley's hand, pushing past and dragging her away from..him.

From the corner of my eye I see Hunter looking back at us, but I didn't care.

"Abbs! Abbs! Abbie, slow down!" Riley says.

"Sorry, Riles. I just want to be as far away from him." I say, throwing shade.

"Why do you hate Hunter so much, bestie?" Riley asks me.

"He's just SOO flirty and childish. It gets on my nerves, he just gets under my skin."

"Or maybe you secretly like him and think that you like Zach. So you're pushing Hunter away because you think you belong with Zach when your heart actually lies with Hunter. " Riley says and I stop walking and look at her in surprise.

"Riley? Where did all that come from?" I ask her.

"You know I watch a lot of romance movies. I'm a natural romantic." Riley says dramically.

"And my crush-dar is telling me that you feel something towards Hunter, something that you refuse to admit, Abbs." Riley says and I roll my eyes.

"Hunter is the most annoying person ever. Your crush-dar HAS to be wrong." I say.

"Honey, my crush-dar is NEVER wrong." Riley says.

"Well, it is this time."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive, thank you very much. Hunter has always annoyed the heck out of me. I don't think there's anything that could change that. There's nothing that will ever make me feel anything even friendly towards him. Forget romantically. Nothing will make me like Hunter "

"Yeah, Yeah, right. If you say so, Abbs." Riley says in doubt.

"Ugh. Can we stop talking about this? Come on!" I say as I pull hard on her arm towards my house.

"Ow! Abbs that hurts!" Riley whines.

"Ugh." I say and loosten my grip, a little.

We get to my house and I pull out my keys and unlock the door.

We go in and put our stuff down and take off our shoes.

"Movie marathon?" I ask Riley and she beams and says back, "you know it!"

"You pick out a movie and I'll make popcorn." I say as I walk to go make snacks.

I mentally prepare myself to sit through whatever sappy mess Riley is gonna force me to watch.

Riley loves Disney and true love's kiss.

Not that I didn't. Just not as much as her.

I much preferred art and having adventures and listening to music, then waiting for a Prince Charming to come to my rescue.

In my opinion, why should we wait around for them when we could just go find them ourselves?

(A/N: Says someone that can barely talk to Zachhh. 😏.)

(Also, I need to take my own advice, once and a while. Lol. Wish I was this brave in real life, but I'm not. I want love but I've never expiredned it for myself. Only watched people in love. But what can ya do? Am I right?

*sigh* c'est la vie, mon ami (Ce- la- Vee. Mon- ami. Means "That's Life, my friend. In French) Alright, I'mma stop talking and go back to the story now..)

I make the snacks and come back to the couch where Riley's eyes are glued to the TV screen watching some random movie.

I chuckle slightly at my best friend. She's super passionate and excited about things, it's one of the things I love about her.

She's not a friend I ever thought that I'd ever make, but I wouldn't trade her for anything.

We've been super close since we met in kindergarten.

She's always been there for me and I love her . Riley is my best friend and we live like sisters.

*Time Skip. A few hours later*

A few hours had gone by and Riley and I were still watching movies.

The movie rolled the credits and Riley's phone chimes.

Riley picks it up and reads the text.

"Sorry, Abbs. That's my mom. She wants me home." Riley says as she pushes the blanket that was over both of us off her.

"It's fine, Riles. You want me to walk with you?" I ask her as she walks to the door and gets her boots on.

"No, it's fine. Mom probably wants me to eat dinner and then go to my brother's baseball game." Riley rolls her eyes. "Yawn. See ya, Abbs."

"Bye, Riles." I say as we hug.

"See ya tomorrow, Abbie." Riley says as she opens the door to leave.

"See ya, Riley." I say and she leaves.

I grab my bag and go into my room to finish some unregarded homework.

I sit on my bed and work on my homework.

I'm finishing up on working it when my phones chimes with a text from a number I don't recognize.

(Abbie- normal. Zach- bold. Riley-italic)

Hey, Abbie

Uh, hey. Who is this?

It's Zach

Z-Z-Zach? H-How did you get my number?

Riley gave it to me

(Riley will have some explaining to do later...)

Ugh, Riley. I'm gonna kill her.

Anyway, there's this huge party this weekend. The whole school is going.

So?

I was wondering if you would wanna come. You can invite Riley, if you want.

U-uh m-maybe. I-I'll uh a-ask her.

Okay, I gtg. I'll talk to you l8ter, Abbie. :)

U-uh B-bye Z-Z-Zach.

Riley, did you give Zach my number??

Uh, maybe...

W-why?

Um, because he asked for it?

Z-Zach asked for it??

Duh.

Well, he invited me to a party.

Shut up. Zach invited you to a party?? That's amazing, Abbs!

And he said you could come too. You are coming right??

Of course I am. 1. Riley Erickson doesn't pass up the chance of a killer party.

2. Someone has to make sure you don't pass out while talking to Zach. You can't even look at him with out blushing. And you make inhuman noises around him instead of actual words. Someone has to cover for your mistakes. What are best friends for, right?

I set my phone down and bury my face into my bed.

I grew tired so I put my phone away and get changed thinking of all that just happend.

Did Zach, my childhood crush seriously ask my best friend and I to possibly one of the coolest parties of the year??!

I might never get this chance again!

I can't wait!

I really hope it's not a trap or setup, but Zach would never do that, he's an angel.

Would he?

I put my face head down on the bed, sleepily.

I eventually fell  asleep while dreaming of slow dancing at the party with Zach.

Just the thought made me swoon.
