CH6: Wrong time to wake up
Tyler's POV:
"Mom? Dad?"
Nobody answered. I am in the living room. The house is fully quiet. All of the lights are off, plunging me in shadowy darkness which makes me feel unnerved. I can feel the cold touch of the air around me, worsening what I feel right now.
The silence is dreadful. There was nothing else I could hear but my heart beating, along with air coming in and out of my system. I felt uneasy about my surroundings . Why are all the lights out? I tried switching the lights in the living room on, but it didn't work.
I took my phone out and turn its flashlight on. I shined my flashlight around me. That's when things has turned from bad to worse.
There are blood splattered on the walls. Glass shards were scattered like small insects around the smooth brown floor. Chairs and tables were turned over. What happened?
"Sylvia?" I called out to my sister, but no answer came out from the latter.
"Holly? Molly?"
Still no answer.
After a few moments, I mustered up my courage to go upstairs in order to investigate. I took a deep breath before beginning myself to ascend the stairs. Every step I make, the dreadful feeling I have is getting more powerful than ever. I can feel its warmth. It's filled with dire threat.
As I am ascending half of the carpeted stairs, I noticed something from one of the windows beside me. I don't know what made me do it, but I peeked out.
There's something hanging from one of the trees. Flooded with crimson colors— There's a dead cat hanging from the tree. The cat was been gutted terribly. Its stomach was carved open, revealing its dangling intestines. Seeing the sight of a dead feline made me sick under my stomach. My bile immediately climbs up to my throat, but I manage to hold it back. My ears flicked once I heard a small thud coming from my Parents' bedroom. That was enough for my heart to skip a beat.
I slowly crept towards the door to my Parents' bedroom. The bothersome feeling is getting so close. It's so powerful beyond of what I can imagine. I can feel its definjte touch brush against my skin.
I slowly opened the door, resulting a foul odor bursting out of the room. At the moment, extreme fear starts to eat me up slowly by the limbs, but I tried my best to keep my bravery up.
With a skip of a heartbeat, my pair of eyes caught sight of my Parents— Dead.
Tears were about to fall off of my eyes. Their state left me horrified. Mom and Dad were hanging from the ceiling, all bloodied up. Mom has a lot of slashes all over her body. Her left ankle was twisted in a disturbing way. Her lifeless bloodshot eyes were staring right at me. Dad looks worser than Mom. He looks bloody as well. He got a large cut from the neck. His eyes were gouged out, leaving only a pair of empty black holes. Each of his fingers from both hands were either twisted or cut off. His intestine was hanging from his carved stomach.
I felt that I'm gonna blow up at any minute. The longer I stare at the horrible sight, the more the sickening sensation rumbles inside of me. Just then, I heard another thud from Sylvia's room. The moment I heard the noise, my mind started to panic. My feet made me run for her room, But I was already too late.
I saw her lying on the floor, dead. There are some stains of blood on her clothes. The crystal clear liquid escaped out of my eyes as I saw a knife deeply plunged to her stomach. I knelt down, too traumatized and sad at what I am seeing right now.
A small giggle is audible right from behind me. The voice has a high-pitch tone in it. I slowly turn my head around. There standing before me is a figure. Every inch of this figure screams feminine, assuming that the mysterious individual is a girl. I was frozen to my spot, resulting for me to unable to make a movement. Even if I want to run, something is preventing me from doing it. My mind keeps screaming, warning me of the girl having intentions that are filled with pure malevolence. My eyes went wide like a lens of a telescope when she raised her hand, revealing a hatchet.
It all happened so fast when she sent the hatchet flying down to me in a quick-motion.

I jolt up from my bed, gasping for air. Sweats keeps dripping down from my temples like raindrops. My heart keeps on pounding like a large drum. I can feel the coldness crawling all around my body even though my room is actually warm. My mouth felt dry and sore, and my throat is in thirst for water.
"D*mn nightmares" I muttered under my breath.
It was all just a dream. But those what I saw— It seem too real. My gaze fixated to my wall clock, seeing the time that it is now 3:15 AM.
I can still feel the soreness in my mouth, so I went downstairs to get some water from the kitchen. All the lights in the house are off, except for the ones at the porch, thanks to it 'cause I can see easily around here. I felt something strange when I was passing by the living room.
It's like I'm being watched.
I set that thought aside and went to the kitchen. I took a glass from the cabinet. Next, I pulled out the pitcher from the fridge and pour some water in the glass. After a couple of minutes, I went out of the kitchen.
I was passing by the living room, and I am having this feeling again.
I think THERE IS someone watching me.
I started ascending the stairs when I saw something... or someone.
Right from my peripheral vision, I saw a figure standing beside the tv set. I can't identify if the figure is a boy or a girl. But one thing for sure; it looks like a kid. The figure seems to follow my every move. I decide to do something to prove if I am just having some sort of imagination or not.
I secretly took out my phone and purposely dropped it on the floor. The cap and the battery fell out of place, I let out a fake cuss before crouching down in order to "fix" my phone.
"Oh this is just great. Could this night get any worse?" I said out loud, just enough for the figure to hear.
Just then, out of my peripheral vision, I can see the figure making at least 5 steps towards me, then stopped to its tracks. It goes on like that for who knows how long. I feel like I was wrapped around in ice. I can feel the numbness on my arms. I never experienced this kind of fear before. It's so different, yet terrifying at the same time. I secretly turned my eyes to my side, and there I can see the figure's shoulder shuffling, as if it is trying to hold back its laughter!
"G-guess the phone is still in shape. Time to go back to sleep." I once again spoke, not able to prevent myself from stuttering.
I fastened up my pace and went to my room. I locked the door and went to my bed. I was breathing heavily. The only thing I can hear is my breathing and the loud pump of my heart.
Is the figure real? Or is it just my imagination? Maybe my drowsiness is just getting the better of me.
I better go back to sleep now.

Sylvia's POV:
I felt the sun shining at my face along with the sound of birds chirping from outside. I turned over to my left and rubbed my eyes. My sense of smell detected a foul odor around my room. Why on earth there's a stinky smell filling my room anyway?
"D*mn Tyler. He might be at it again." I muttered to myself, thinking that my brother might be at his pranks again. I stretched my arms as I slowly got out of my bed. I let out a yawn before slowly opening my eyes.
"AAAHHH!"
I let out a horrified scream, enough for someone to be alarmed. My room is a mess. My clothes were scattered around the floor, all were drenched in blood. The walls and the floor were also splattered with a lot of crimson liquid. My bile climbed its way up to my throat as my eyes caught sight of a dead cat on the bloody floor. It was covered in blood. Huge cuts and stabs are covering its furry body. Its tail was cut in half, leaving almost only a bloody stump. A foul smell was coming out of it. Maggots can be seen crawling around its mutilated body, feasting on the flesh of the poor feline.
I turned my gaze to the wall, and that is when my eyes caught a bloody writing on the wall.
"Rise and shine meat head." I whispered it.
Mom and Dad went busting in, a worried expression was on their faces. Mommy couldn't held her scream back. Dad tries to calm her down, but mommy just broke down into tears.
"What the hell happened here?!" My Dad asked hysterically.
Mom went to me, giving me a tight hug.
"Did anybody hurt you?! Is there something painful within you?!" Mom was worried asking while checking my body to see if I had a bruise or something.
"Mom? Dad? What's happening?" I heard one of the twins asked.
I don't know which one of them asked 'cause they almost have the same voice. I turned my head at the door and saw Holly. I can recognize them 'cause they are wearing different colored night gowns. Holly is wearing a purple night gown, while Molly wears a pink one.
"Tyler. Stay the twins away from here, I don't want them to see this." Dad instructed Tyler, who was watching by the door with a serious expression. He gave dad a nod before bringing the twins to their room.
"I'm gonna call the police." Mom whimpered while running out of my room.
Dad lets out a sigh as he rubbed his temples. I felt a tear running down from my right eye. I can feel the chill crawling up to my skin, causing me to shiver. Who could've done this kind of thing? Did an intruder broke in last night?
"How did this happen Sylvia? Tell me this isn't a prank." Dad said with a serious look.
"L-look dad it wasn't! I w-woke up seeing this! I haven't even saw this mess last night!" I explained while failing to avoid from stuttering.
"Then why's there a dead cat in here? It couldn't have just magically ended up here!" He said, his voice is higher than a while ago. I can see the doubt in his eyes.
Not able to held back a scoff, I replied back defensively. "I told you dad, that thing wasn't here since last night! Don't point the blaming finger on me! I'll never do anything such as this!"
Just then, we heard Mom's scream from outside. Dad and I looked at each other for a split second before racing down the stairs, Tyler was also catching up with us. We went to the front door and saw mom backing away slowly.
I followed the direction from where mommy is staring at, and I was left horrified to what I saw. There's a dead man hanging from one of the trees. His intestine was made as a noose for him. I can clearly see how his stomach was brutally carved.
Mom went inside the house crying. Dad was getting worried, so he went after mom. Me and Tyler were the only ones who were left outside.
"This is some sort of Jack the ripper sh*t." Tyler stated as he held both hands to his hair tightly. "Bloody hell." he muttered as his distraught eyes are focused to the hanging corpse.
This isn't happening. I thought this wouldn't happen anymore. If this is a nightmare, please wake me up.
Could this be the mysterious girl's doings? That is what I'm not really sure about.
I noticed a knife sticking out from the man's forehead. I also caught sight of a small yellow paper sticking from the knife. Being the curious person that I am, I walked slowly towards the man.
"Sylvia. What are you doing?" Tyler's concerned voice flooded my ears.
"Sylvia! Don't you dare go near to that body!" I didn't took notice of Tyler's warning and went on moving.
I was almost near to the man. I was in shock when I saw the man's face. I can recognize him.
"Th- this is-"
