CH20: the vulnerable
Sheena's POV:
We've finally arrived at Ms. Hadenile's place. The house itself isn't quite big, but not so small either. It's coated in white paint. Some well-trimmed bushes that are filled with blossoming roses stood there under the porch.
We walked along a gravel path leading to the house itself. We stepped bu the front porch and pressed the doorbell. After 3 presses on the doorbell, I heard footsteps from the other side of the door. The door slowly opened, revealing Ms. Hadenile with a smile on her face.
We were surprised to see how she looks. She lost weight. Her natural black hair is tied up in a messy bun. She has dark bags under her eyes, and her arms are shivering slightly, looking like she hasn't eaten for days.
I forced a smile at her, not wanting to expose my great concern.
"Good afternoon Ms. Hadenile!" We all greet the lady in unison.
"Oh good! You're all here. Come inside!" She ushered before walking inside her house again.
Sylvia looked at me. Her expression tells me that I should go first. I shrug before going inside.
We walked around the hallway quietly, just following Ms. Hadenile's lead without muttering a letter.
We turn to the right, and we end up in the living room. The living room is well arranged. All of the furnitures around here were all cleaned neatly. The fireplace's emitting a bright glow. Above the fireplace is a painting of a beautiful woman clad in a sapphire gown.
I look around a bit, and I stumbled upon a small shelf. The small shelf contains different kinds of trophies and medals or golden plates.
There's one trophy that caught my eyes the most. I leaned closer, inspecting that specific trophy better.
"Best volleyball player. harvid University. 1995-1999" I read quietly.
I noticed a name etched to the medal's golden plate.
"Sonia Hadenile." I read it
So that's Ms. Hadenile's first name.
"So how are you doing girls?" I heard Ms. Hadenile asked
I turn my attention back to her, giving her a warm grin.
"We're quite good Ms. Hadenile." Sylvia answered politely.
"Please. Do call me Sonia for now." She spoke, waving her hand in front of us as if declining an offer. "I preferred being called by my first name when not in Crystal wake. It's less formal."
"That's a pretty name!"
Ms. Hadenile or Sonia rather, turned her attention to the owner of the voice. She approached Sylvia's twin sisters, proceeding to pinch them by the cheek.
"Thank you." She said. "You two look like angels. You both look like your sister." She added a compliment, looking up to Sylvia with a smile.
The latter just chuckled, scratching the back of her head shyly.
"Oh dear!" Sonia exclaimed. "Enough with the continuous chatter for a while. The dishes are almost done. Come! Follow me to the kitchen area!" she announced joyfully before walking away from us in a jolly way.
We all smiled to one another before following her. Somehow, I'm still worried for our teacher. Something's not quite right. It's like she's trying to hold herself back from saying something to us. But then again, maybe I am just really overfilled with too much concern.

Chantelle's POV:
We were at the dining table, having a wonderful dinner filled with laughters and joy.
"Ms. Hadeni-" but then Sylvia stopped. "I mean Sonia" she corrected herself. "This chicken fillet tastes real good. My mom's version of this dish is quite different from yours. What did you put in the fillet?" Sylvia asked, amazement is within her voice.
"Just a secret only the sole Sonia Hadenile will know." Sonia replied with a giggle.
Not able to keep my curiosity, I chimed in. "Sonia You look like you've lost weight." I said.
"Oh! Don't mind it. Just a couple of workout from the gym." She replied, pulling off a grin.
I know Sonia isn't working out from the gym. I can feel the sadness in her that she tries hard to hide. I know she lacked sleep, base from the dark circles around her eyes. Probably she was depressed by the death of my friends. I can feel it. Base from my observation, hitting the gym won't make you lose that amount of fat, unless if you're hitting yourself way too much on treadmills or somethin'. It's nearly impossible in my opinion. Besides, her body is not even. She's almost nothing but bones and skin. I know Sonia. She doesn't forget things easily. For 5 years working as a teacher in Crystal Wake, I know she's the type of woman who has a hard time burying things out of her mind.
Maybe... maybe she's depressed? Maybe the incident around Diamond field; especially Crystal Wake, are already taking a toll on her? I just hope she's doing fine all this time.
I took a bite from a piece of blueberry pie that she prepared, just erasing my previous thoughts. My eyebrows lowered in curiosity. My gaze landed onto the twins. Both of them had their heads lowered down a bit. I can see the look in their eyes. They're like knives shooting down on you like a rain shower of gun bullets. A frown is spreading across their lips. I'm gonna admit it: that made me uncomfortable from my seat.
I was about to open my mouth, wishing to utter their name, but Sylvia has beat me first to it. "Holly? Molly?"
Their expressions. Their expressions that screams mystery to my sight changed in a flash. Their once frowning face turned into a bright one, anyone but me noticed its transition.
"Are you two finish eating?" Sylvia asked, a smile across her lips exposed.
"Uh-huh!" Molly exclaimed.
"We'll be going to the bathroom to wash our hands." Holly excused, standing up from her chair with Molly in unison. The two of them started walking away the dining table, going to the bathroom.
I proceed myself to eat silently, all the while my confusion and doubt of the twins' suspicious act remains inside my mind.
------------------
After a while, Sylvia and Sheena decides to go to the convenient store around town. I want to stay behind, but due to their pressure, I ended up taking the decision of going with them.
After biding our short farewell to Ms. Hadenile and the twins, the three of us started hiking on the tree-covered narrow road.
The walk along the way is quiet, but yet comforting. To break the silence, I decided to open up a conversation.
"Man. Cold out here, huh?" I said as I rub my shoulders to ease the chill on my skin.
"Yeah." Sylvia agreed. "But not as cold as how I beat the sh*t out of Tyler one time when he's trying to piss me off in my time of the month."
We couldn't help but let out snorts and laughter. Strangely, I can feel my cheeks getting hot and red as a tomato just by hearing Sylvia mentioning Tyler. The heck is happening to me?
"I remember the time when we were in 5th grade, Sylvia." Sheena stated. "That one guy who cat called us can't speak after I gave him a fist across the face."
"Really? Can't remember that." Sylvia wondered, not able to release another chuckle.
"Yeah." Sheena replied. "Not after getting a busted jaw." She joked, making me laugh out loud.
A bond between friends. It's heartwarming for me, and I will cherish those kinds of moments for the rest of my life.
But then, I thought our moment of peace and happiness would stay longer. I was wrong. I never expect for the next thing to happen. How I wish I shouldn't come with them in the first place.

??? POV:
"Give me the phone." I commanded my twin sister.
We are alone in the living room. Sylvia and her naive little friends went out to buy something from the store.
My twin sister handed the phone to me with trembling hands. I took the phone from her and started pressing keys on the screen.
I pressed the send button, completely sending the message to Sylvia.
"A-are we going to do it right now?" She asked with a stutter.
"Of course little sister! Come with me. We'll have a wonderful game!" I said excitingly as I drag her by her arm as we went to the kitchen.
I searched through the cupboards until I found it.
The circuit breaker... I let out an evil smile as I admired the breaker.
Time to start the fun.

Sylvia's POV:
After a quite long wait at the counter, we've went outside. Sonia's house isn't far from the store, just a 20 minute walk will do.
As we're all walking down the quiet road while sharing laughs at one another, I felt my phone vibrating. I took my phone out and saw that I have two messages from the killer.
My smile worn out at the process. I already stored the killer's contact on my phone, so I know it is her.
I opened the message, and I felt goosebumps on me as I read the content of the message.
"3rd clue: In the house.
4th clue: I can see your twin sisters by the window."
I felt my knees getting weak. My heart starts beating fast as I glued my eyes on the phone screen. My breathing is uneven, a sign that I am now letting fear disturb my inner calmness. A realization smacked inside my head: The killer followed us to Sonia's house.
With trembling palms, I opened the second message.
"Thou, protectors, shall not leave the vulnerable."
I pulled the orange and green paper out of my shorts' pocket.
Two letter E from their names... I know them from school...
I read all of them carefully until I realized something.
Ms. Hadenile...
She has two letter 'E's in her last name!
My feet automatically made a sprint, Sheena and Chantelle following from behind with confusion within them.
"Sylvia! The hell's going on?!" I heard Sheena asked loudly from behind.
"We have to get back to Ms. Hadenile's house! Her and the kids are not safe!" I yelled back.
I have to go there in time... Ms. Hadenile and the twins are in danger.
