Sylvia's POV:

Not really expecting for Holly and Molly to show up, I was left surprised for a bit, considering that it was already past 7 in the night and that they should be home at 4:30 already. Right now, The two of them are inside our room, playing and telling stories; any child would usually do.

I learned from Mom and dad that they are away for a business trip. It would take 10 weeks before they can return. Well that explains why the twins didn't go home yet. No one will be able to fetch them up from school, so Tyler and I will be the ones in charge to look after them for a while.

This "Watch your sister and don't let her do stupid things while we're gone" thing isn't a problem for me. Dunno about Tyler though. From the way he nonchalantly reacted when he knew about mom and dad's business trip, he doesn't seem to grew an inch of interest about it. In fact, he's not enthusiastic about this matter, especially once he found out that he'll be watching the twins over with me. When it comes to watching over his younger siblings, he's less reliable with it. He's lazy about it, and he's just gonna let us do our thing instead. Not that he's negligent about it, he's just plain lazy about this babysitting thing.

After some long chit-chat with Sheena regarding about our lives, she introduced each of her friends to me.

So let me start from the two girls first.

The first one is Candace Birchmore. She's the girl with semi-curly blond hair, wearing a white tank top and denim shorts, matched with light makeup that smears perfectly on her complexion. From what Sheena told me and how this girl acts, she is considered as the "Flirty pie" of our class— or even the whole campus of Crystal wake I supposed. Hence the nickname she was given by the students here at school, she's known to attract a lot of boys with her stunning looks. Most of the girls at Crystal Wake dislikes Candace because of the simple reason that her flirting skills is going one step too far. Well I wouldn't be surprised now if she ever flirt, my brother, he's good looking and a gentleman at his finest. But of course I wouldn't let him fall to a girl like her. I ain't putting a dollar on a bet like that. Also, she's like the stereotypical popular girl found in movies. Pretty, fierce— a diva with a high-class type of personality. Overly cliché it is.

The next one is Chantelle Ross. She is the girl with a white t-shirt, covered mostly with a gray cardigan that matches the color of her black denim jeans; topped with a pair of brown sneakers. Her flawless straigh brown hair, with a bit of natural white highlights on it, swayed gracefully each movement she does. Base from her signature fond of books, she is the bookworm in class. Her unique baby face and her softspoken personality is what makes her super popular, especially with the boys. Most of the dudes in her room and some from the other sections either wants to hang out with her, be her study partner, or even court her. It's insane if I were to be asked. Sheena also claimed that Candace has a huge  jealousy for Chantelle because of her popularity in Crystal wake. Couldn't blame Chantelle though. She's like a complete package already; smart, kind, genuine, beautiful and so on.

So next, let's get to know the boys.

Jack Vin Wisconsin. From what I see, he's the guy with jet-black hair that is swept from one side, covering one of his natural black eyes. Wears a black t-shirt, and a pair of white jeans matched with a pair of black Vans. According to Sheena, this Guy is as cold as ice. He can also be a bully at times. Unfortunately, that isn't enough for the girls to stop drooling over him. He is also known as the Campus Heartthrob. Oh great, Another stereotypical student. Campus prince, has it all, worshipped by others regardless of his mean demeanor and shit. He's only tamed once he's around with Sheena and the others. At least somehow that's a good thing.

Next one is Timothy Vendigel. I think he's the boy with short emo hair with a hint of dark red highlights. I think he is the male version of Chantelle. Why? It's because of the dark brown eyeglasses and the Books he had with him. From what Sheena claimed; he's the shy-type of guy in the group, but also a smart one. His shyness is what makes him adored by a lot of students here in Crystal wake. Him and Chantelle both have something in common: They're both the class bookworms.

Carter Rosata. Dark brown pompadour hair, gray shirt and black leather pants— From what Sheena said, he's a total perv. A bit cocky with a hint of flirtatiousness, Carter is kinda like the ladies' men. He's really kind and all, but he's really just— I can't explain it no more.

And finally the last guy, Chase Rickson. He has short-Medium dark Blond hair that has sidebangs with it. He's clad in all black outfit. I was deceived by my mental judgement. He's not the typical bad boy that most people knew. In fact; he is the very opposite. He's kind, soft-hearted all in all, he rarely gets into fights, from what Sheena told me I supposed. And she claimed also that he's a straight 'A' student.

With the introductions done now, I decided to go outside the classroom and take a stroll around the hallways. I opened the door of the classroom that I am in at the moment, and the cool wind brushed before my face as soon as I pulled the door handle. I closed the door behind me and started roaming around the quiet hallways. Not even a single lightbulb is on, but the luminous shine of the moonlight served itself as a source of brightness around the dark hallways.

I stopped by a large window. My gaze fixed itself through the transparent glass that is right before me. Amazement lits within my aqua blue eyes as I stare at the beautiful view of the school grounds. Relief shrouded within me as I watch the full sight of the moon.

My ears flicked. Pitter-patter of shoes making contact against the floor is audible from behind me. Strangely, the footsteps doesn't seem intimidating to me. It's not your typical horror trope footsteps. For me, they seem... normal.

"Beautiful, huh?"

A voice of a male is heard from beside me. I tilt my head to the left just to see Chase staring out a window too, a dreamy grin is seen across his beautiful lips.

With that, he switched his gaze to me and asked. "You enjoyed this place?"

A genuine smile made its way across my lips as I answered. "For my first time here, Yes."

"I'm glad you did."

With a chuckle, Chase pulled out a cigarette out of his pocket. He whistled while lighting up the lighter he is holding in his other hand. The small, scorching ember lights up from the small, square can of fuel as it lights up the cigarette. With a smile, Chase took a smoke. He then blew the nicotine-scented smoke out of his mouth, not taking off his gaze and grin from the view in front of us all the while.

"You smoke?" I asked, surprised.

"Yeah." He answered. "Hey, at least I'm already 18. I'm in the legal age besides." He added in a joking manner before giving me a wink.

Giggles and small laughter escaped throughout of our mouths. Well he has a sense of humor too.

"Wow. Totally unexpected." I stated, referring to Chase's smoking habit.

"Yeah. Who says straight 'A' students don't do this kind of stuff?" He snickered, making myself chuckle in the process. "Besides, it doesn't mean I'm a reckless student. I'm just your average guy who do just fine in school." He added.

"Point taken." I replied back while giving Chase a salute with two of my fingers.

I switched my sight to the window again and proceeded to just stare out from it.

Jack Vin's POV:

I was putting some decorations around the ceiling with Carter. Boredom soon strikes me hard like a sh*tty baseball bat. Why do I even have to do this? I mean, this is definitely pointless. We're not decorating some sort of debut party. That d*mn teacher. It's just really boring around here.

"Hey Jack!" I heard Sheena yell Across the room, making me wince in annoyance.

D*mn, I hate my first name.

"Get to the point Avinson." I answered with a nonchalant tone. My expression remains to that of my tone; full of boredom.

"Can you please go with Sylvia? You guys are gonna fetch the curtain and ribbons we need for the windows. It's located in the security lounge." She said while pointing at the new girl.

I just gave a nod while walking out of the room, not even bothering to wait for the new girl to catch up. I just walked straight ahead like I own this campus. To be fairly honest, I don't wanna do this whole decorating thing. It's just really making me uncomfortable. Besides, I have zero enthusiasm about it. But in the other hand, I have to tag along 'cause they're my friends; especially if they are making an impression for the new girl and her brother.

"Hey! Wait up!" I heard a light voice from behind. I turned around and saw the new girl trying to catch up, a cheery smile plastered onto her face as she waves at me.

I rolled my eyes and went on walking, not even bothering to wait for her.

"Jeez! You're really fast." She chuckled while catching up her breath.

I just continued walking, not taking my eyes off at the front. I don't wanna talk. Not in the mood at all.

"So you're Jack Vin Wisconsin, right?" The girl— Sylvia rather, asked.

I just gave her a nod as we go down the stairs, still not bothering to utter a word.

"Just call me Vin." I told her. To be honest, I don't have any idea why I'd said that. My mouth just automatically opened for an answer.

"Oh. I'm Sylvia Savana by the way." She introduced  herself while lending her hand for a handshake.

I didn't accept the hand and proceed on walking. I heard her embarrassed chuckle, noticing that she's scratching the back of her neck in shame. To be honest, Sylvia is getting on my nerves. She's quite annoying. I usually preferred to be in quiet places. God, why did even Sheena chose me to escort this girl to the security lounge?

"Sheena is right. You ARE cold." That was enough for my ears to tick. My head tilted towards her slowly, an eyebrow is arched sharply as a frown on my lips formed.

"What did you just say?" I asked in my coldest tone, making her let out a nervous laugh in the process.

"Nothing, really."

Just as I thought.

??? POV:

"Sheena. I'm just going to take a bathroom break."

I saw the flirty look she was giving to that guy before she went out of the room. I rolled my eyes as I formed an irritated look.

Ugh. What a whore.

The guy secretly snuck out of the room while Sheena and the others aren't looking. I think he's Carter. I let out an evil smirk before standing on my feet. I secretly exited the classroom without detection, my sister following from behind.

"W-where are we going?" I heard my sister asked with a stutter.

"Well what else? We're gonna gut them like some pigs in a meat plant." I replied back with a dark voice.

I can feel it. I can sense my hunger for a carnage. My mind is aching with desire for the color of copper-taste crimson liquid on my hands. Ecstatic am I, I could not wait to give those two a nice warm bath in blood.

We followed the two teens to a specific classroom at the ground floor. We secretly peeked at the doorway, my face cringed in disgust to what I've witnessed. It was such an unbeaeable sight just to see the two making out. They are making a lustful war to each other, both are eager to savor the flavor of their lips. Their body language says it all: they are indeed hungry to such activity. I went to the trash bins  and grabbed the meat hook I have hid earlier

"You stay here." I instructed my twin while quietly sneaking into the classroom.

They are busy doing their business. I snuck from behind the boy and raised my large meat hook. With no hesitation, I sent the hook flying down to his back. Screams of agony came out from him as the pointy edge of the hook jabbed to his back.

I smirked evilly as I deepen the hook down. I can see the shocked expression that Candace has while she stood frozen to her place. She is completely paralyzed in fear.

I pulled the hook out as hard as I could, and to my delight, I have ripped a large chunk of flesh from the boy's back. Blood splashed on the floor, and thankfully, I wasn't splattered with it. Strangely, my effort left me satisfied. Just hearing flesh being ripped out with the combination of screams of pain are a lullaby to my ears.

I pulled the chunk of flesh out of the hook. In a swift motion, I sent the hook flying towards him again. The room was soon enveloped in silence. The thick pointy edge of my hook is plunged deep into Carter's skull. I pulled the hook out. The motionless body in front of me soon lied on the cold floor. My innocent smile appeared as I intently stare at Carter' soulless eyes. Adrenaline started rushing over me, and my ecstasy for more blood kicks in swiftly. I want more. I need more.

"AAAHHH!"

Candace screamed at the top of her lungs as she makes a sprint out of the room. I was surprised to see Candace lie on the ground unconsciously. At first, she was just running away from me out of fear, and now shes nothing but a girl knocked out cold.

I grinned as I watch my sister nervously entered the classroom while holding a baseball bat.

I guess she had a good home-run, I thought, giggling at my idiotic pun.

At least somehow, she has usage and importance to my plan. Doing such thing like what she did right now? And add to the fact that it was against my will? It amuses me. It left me proud. It left me nodding in satisfaction.

"I-I just found it in another classroom." She nervously stated, her hands won't stop trembling at all, making me smirk in return.

"Good job! You're the best bud ever!" I exclaimed while clapping my hands.

I gleefully skipped towards her and gave her a pat on the shoulder. "let's get to business." I exclaimed.

Ecstasy and excitement filled my system. My hands are aching in desire for blood.

Let this game of cat and mice begin.

Chantelle's POV:

I heard the screams of Carter and Candace from the ground floor. It was ear piercing— enough to impair someone's hearing. I can hear it here from the 4th floor. My non-comical gaze switched at Sheena. She was just as serious as I am. Telepathically, we knew Candace is in definite jeopardy.

I gave her a nod, and we started dashing to the door. All of us went running down the stairs towards the ground floor. We have finally reached the ground floor, and we stopped right at the bottom of the stairs. I felt my heart sank to the sight of a thick blood trail leading to a classroom. Chase took the courage to go inside. We only heard his heavy breathing from outside after that. His heavy breathing is full of... anxiety.

Because of my urge to see what's inside, I went in.

"AAAAHHH!!"

I scream and fell down crying. Seeing such macabre left me in severe despair. The lifeless body of Candace and Carter are seen lying on the floor with blood all over them. Carter's back was been ripped off, revealing nothing but red-tinted flesh. I can almost see the bones sticking out from the large wound from his back, which results my stomach to seethe. Candace... She's much more worse. Her head was been crushed, leaving nothing but chunks of smashed gray matter sprewned on the cold, white floor.

They're dead. They're no more.

"Oh my god. Th-This isn't happening... This isn't happening." Timothy keeps muttering to himself. He just sat by a corner as he rocks back and forth, as if he's in hysteria.

"Shit. We gotta call the cops!" Chase announced in a serious tone.

I backed away from the room. I was planning to call the night watch guard, so I started running down from the hallway. I was just gaining some few steps when few feet away from me, on the shiny floor, a paper is seen.

Out of curiosity, I picked the paper up. My fear bursts in like a raider as I felt the familiar smooth surface in my hands. My heart beats faster than before, and my breath stiffened like a stone. At this moment, I couldn't take the courage to read the writing on the paper. Excessive dread is already taking a step at my peek. I have never been scared like this before.

"Red as the color of blood, fresh as your crimson flesh— One is rough, but two is not enough. Run, for I am the feline, and you're the mouse in death's line. Never stop running, keep on hiding, for the game of cat and mice begins tonight."

Just as I expected. It's a warning. But the question is; who wrote the letter? Who murdered Candace and Carter?

My thoughts were interrupted to the sound of creaking noises coming from beside me. The janitor's closet is left ajar. Buzzing noise of flies flooded beside my ears. My nostrils caught the terrible scent of copper— carcass to be exact! I mustered up the courage to open the closet. How I wished that I didn't have  to open the closet at all.

"AAAHHH!!!"

The mutilated body of the night guard popped out, immediately falling onto the cold floor in a motionless state. His abdomen has a huge cut, revealing his crimson intestine. The cut was so large. So large that to the point, his lower body is gonna go out of its place horrendously. His eyes were missing, leaving nothing but empty sockets. My hands cupped my mouth as I stood there, terrified.

Just then, I heard the screech of metal scraping against the floor. It's echoing throughout the hallway. The screeches made me cringe a lot. The noise is something that you will hear out of a horror film. It's spine-tingling indeed.

I heard it coming closer. It became closer and closer until it stopped to my front. I slowly removed my hands and opened my eyes. I felt a huge goosebump on me at what I saw from the end of the hallway.

At the end of the hallway stands a girl with a long meat hook held firmly in her hands.  She is wearing a spaghetti strapped dress. She has jet black hair, and her height is the same as Sylvia's twin sisters'. What made me fear about this girl is the porcelain mask that she is wearing. Its eyes are crazed, and its cheeks had dark brownish circles on it. And the smile that reveals a row of sharp teeth made me shiver in fear.

I'm frozen like a sculpture. At the tip of my tongue, I know this girl isn't gonna play a nice game with us.

"RUN!" Tyler's voice echoed from behind.

As soon as the girl made her first step, I quickly turned myself around and sprinted with the others.

I can hear the soft pitter patter of flat shoes behind me. I didn't dare myself to turn around. I can feel the mysterious girl in hot pursuit. She's just gaining up on us.

Oh god please... let me and the others live...

Sylvia's POV:

I heard the screams of the others echoing from the distance. I hastily let go of the box I was holding and ran back to the school building.

"Hey! Wait up!" I heard Vin confusingly yelled from behind. I didn't care what his reaction is gonna be. I just need to see the others fine.

I kept dashing and dashing until I finally reached the high school building. I went inside, and the first thing that I noticed was the mutilated body of the night guard lying in the middle of the hallway. A sickening sensation is swirling inside my stomach. My bile rises up to my throat almost instantly, but thankfully I managed to hold it.

"No... She's making her move again." I thought.

D*mn it! I should've warned them earlier. It was a really stupid move for me to not warn them of what I saw earlier in the first place. I have to find them before anything bad can happen next.

"What the hell happened here?" Vin asked from behind. I could tell he's just devastated as I am.

I flinched a little when I heard some banging noise coming from the second floor of the building. My hopes lightens up. I know they're still alive.

"I have to find them!" I said urgently as I started running for the stairs.

"Wait!"

I felt Vin's grip on my hand. I tried to break free, but his grasp is iron-like.

"I ain't gonna let you roam around this school trying to find the others with a psychopath running around here somewehere." He told me.

I stare at his cold eyes for a moment. What else can I do? Of course he's gonna insist. "Fine." I simply replied before going for the stairs, him trailing from behind.

I felt my phone vibrated. I abruptly took a halt and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I received a text from an unknown number.

"Look for them, or I'll find them myself." I read the message quietly.

I put my phone back to my pocket and  continued running for the stairs, hoping all the time that my brother and the others are ok.

Tyler's POV:

We were hiding in a classroom on the 4th floor for almost 10 minutes. By the time we all saw the mysterious girl, we knew she wants us dead in her hands. The heavy tension around us won't dissapear. Each of us are just equally mortified by this twisted events. I don't know why this girl could do such things. What does she want from us?

"We have to get out of this school." Chase uttered, walking back and forth in a dead-serious manner. Clearly, he is thinking some sort of plan to escape this school alive.

"But how?" Sheena asked, almost frustrated. "It's gonna take a while for us to reach the front gate if we are gonna go for it. There is no way we could make it that far." She added.

"M-maybe we can escape from the back gate?" Another feminine voice— Chantelle.

"Are you sure about that, Chantelle?" Timothy doubted.

"Yeah. But the only problem is the gate. It is locked." She stated, almost in a downing tone. "At the moment, I know what you guys are thinking. Jumping over the brick wall will be rendered useless because it's too tall for us to reach out for it." She added straight away.

This kind of thought keeps bothering me right until now. What happened to Sylvia and Jack? Where did the twins go? I can't bear it if I saw them dead, especially the twins and Sylvia. I would be really in a breakdown if anything bad happens to them.

"The keys Sheena. Where did you put it?" Chase asked.

"Sh*t. I left it in the classroom where we found Candace and Carter." Sheena replied with a cuss. I supposed she's not really happy about leaving the keys behind accidentally.

"Great. So who's gonna fetch the keys?" Timothy asked.

"I ain't gonna step outside. Not for me." Chantelle shot back, fear is still painted from her emerald eyes.

"F*ck it. I'm not gonna go out there either." Timothy said fearfully.

I rolled my eyes. Of course I gotta expect this. There's always got to be a wuss in every horror situation. Well I'm admitting that I, just like the others, is scared too. But still, I'm keeping up my wits somehow, and so are the others.

Man up Timothy. Man up.

I stood up to my feet and dusted off my clothes. I can feel all eyes are focused on me.

"I'll do it." I said bravely while giving them each an assuring look.

"A-are you sure?" Chantelle asked. I can read the uncertainty from her eyes. She clearly doesn't want me to go out of the safety of this classroom.

"I'll do it. And I'm not gonna leave this school without Sylvia and the twins. They're family to me." I simply told them as I made my way towards the door.

"Tyler wait!"

A soft voice rang from behind me. I turned around, and I was caught off guard at two warm arms wrapping around me. I looked down to see Chantelle with a worried expression.

"Please be careful." She said, almost in a hushed tone.

In order to give her assurance, I smiled before ruffling her hair lightly.

"I'll be fine, promise." I answered.

"Be careful man." Chase chimed before patting me on the shoulder.

I gave them all a smile once again before leaving the room.

______________________________________

The whole building is deathly quiet. No sound can be heard except for the pitter-patter of my shoes on the floor and the solemn howl of my cold breath. I slowly climbed down the stairs, all the time I'm paying attention to my surroundings.

I always stop from my steps and search around my place everytime I hear even the slightest sound. Some times I could really shake my head in disappointment. As if a tiny sound could literally kill me. It's obvious that paranoia is taking a toll on me. It's just frustrating to think at first, I wasn't that scared at all. But as I step out of the safety of that classroom, my fear worsened. My courage went from 50% to 10% real quick. 10%, which means I still managed to maintain the guts to search for the keys alone while not being an absolute wuss.

Back to the main thing. I have finally reached the ground floor. I looked around my surroundings first. Nothing strange around, aside from the guard's mutilated corpse. I went inside the classroom and found the keys on the teacher's desk. I winced by the smell of blood. Once again, I noticed the bloody corpses of Candace and Carter. Just by looking at their mangled state makes me feel sick under the pit of my stomach, and the strong stench of blood just made it worse.

I didn't waste time, so I picked the keys up and quietly went out of the classroom. Just as I quietly closed the classroom door, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I slowly turned around and saw

Sylvia and Jack.

"Oh thank god you are alright!" I said in a relieving tone as I hug Sylvia tightly. I couldn't contain my joy just to see my younger sister alive.

"We were looking for you and the others for almost 20 minutes now." Jack chimed in as he's lying his back against a wall, his hands are crossed against his chest.

"Wh-where are the twins?" Sylvia asked in worriment.

"I don't know where they went off to." I replied sadly.

I saw the downing look on her face. I pat her on the shoulder before speaking. "Don't worry. We'll find them." I assured her.

We were about to ascend the stairs when---

"AAAHHH!"

We heard the screams of Chantelle and Sheena.
