Welcome
Third person's POV
A smile made its way onto Faya's lips, she had headphones covering her ears with gentle music flowing through them. She had a bag on her back, two suitcases in her hands and a smile seeing all the different students. Being a mind fairy sucked, she loved it but believes it shows who she was as a person, relating to her personality. The music drowned out the outside world, giving her peace and relaxation. She glanced at a boy who she walked past, who was flipping a knife around. She shook her head, smiling and continued on her way.
Faya didn't really know her way around but enough to navigate to where she needed to go. Kinda helped having a family that went to the school and a family friend the teaches at the school. She headed for the Fairy hall, walked inside and looked for her dorm. The word Winx on a plaque above the doors. The main doors to the dormitory were opened and she entered, looking around to see a bunch of plants.
Earth Fairy.
She confirmed, she was in a room of three. The room was quite large to accommodate three students, desks and have their own little areas. Faya was in a far corner, a room she had a little window nook. That had an arch way frame and pillows on the seating area. She placed her bags down, sitting on her new bed and started unpacking all her clothes and stuff.
Her roommates are named Terra and Musa. She guessed Terra was the Earth Fairy as she was the one who placed plants everywhere. Then Musa... she hadn't figured that out yet. Her headphones stayed on her head, lyrics and piano chords filling her ears. She decorated her part of the room with photos, books and posters of icons and things she liked.
Faya didn't want to seem rude, so she turned to her two roommates, sliding her headphones off. She glanced at them, reading their thoughts and smiled, believing they were decent people. Terra was very optimistic, Musa seemed to find it annoying and Terra's thoughts were changing one minute to the next.
"It's Faya, right?" Musa asked as Terra left the room with more plants.
"Yeah, that's me." She nodded with a soft smile, fiddling with her hands. Musa nodded, smiling and pointed to Faya's headphones.
"Mind fairy?" She questioned, Faya nodded, chuckling nervously and pointed to Musa's headphones.
"Mind fairy?" Musa nodded, with a smile. Faya had placed her bags under the bed, so they were out of mind and out of sight.
"What magic of the mind?" Faya asked, sitting on her bed. Looking at Musa curiously.
"Emotions, you?"
"Mainly thoughts, but once in a blue moon I can read emotions." Faya answered and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to block out the overwhelming feeling of having to deal with all the thoughts. Musa was easy to deal with, but everyone else was hard and painful.
"What's your story?" Musa asked, scanning Faya's face.
"My family travels between the worlds, sometimes Eraklyon and then sometimes Earth. For a couple of weeks I had to be in a human school. It was horrible, I was in the school cafeteria and their thoughts were overwhelming, I could hear everything they were all thinking, all at once. It was one of the worst experiences I had with my powers. I couldn't have my headphones on me to block it all out, I was hurt, it was traumatising, I became weak and for a little while I stopped using my powers to the point were they pretty much didn't exist. But they're coming back, slowly and Headmistress Dowling says she's going to help with getting them back and stronger as well as suitable for me." She explained, trying to not feel anything so Musa didn't have to put up with it. She nodded, sitting next to Faya and gave her a sad smile.
"Well, I'm sure it will be better here and suitable." Faya smiled, thanking Musa and stood up.
"I have to go to the Specialists hall, I'll see you at that orientation thing." She nodded, waving and Faya placed her headphones back on and walked out. She headed for the training grounds. Putting her hands behind her back and stood behind the first year group. Smiling as she saw Saul, Faya quickly turned her music down to listen to him.
"Faya, come here." She nodded, placing her headphones around her neck and turned to look at all the first year Specialists.
"What's a fairy doing here?" A boy rudely asked, she grimaced at the boy's thoughts. Insulting and rude.
"She's here to train as well, she's better than all of you. I can say this right now. Now don't go giving her crap just because she's a fairy. She knows what she is doing." He handed the girl a sword and pointed to the ring. A small formed on her lips, taking the headphones off and placed them down with her phone. Faya slid her jacket off, trying her best to block out the constant thoughts from the students.
"Sky!" Faya turned around to see a blonde boy, a lost little puppy dog look in his eyes. He walked over and looked at Saul.
"Both of you on the ring." Sky helped Faya up, smiling softly and waited for Saul's count.
"Now!" She made the first move, swinging her sword and listened to the cling of the metal. Their fight sped up, like they were in an actual battle. Making swift and tactical moves. Faya had gotten one of his swords from him and let a smirk appear on her lips and threw both down. Challenging him to do the same, a fist fight started, everyone who wasn't doing anything stopped to watch.
He got both of her arms, holding them so they were locked, their bodies were close. She intertwined one of their legs, tripping him over and stood back. Faya, being the nice person helped him up, giving him a small smile and hopped off the ring.
"Do not underestimate her, are we clear?" Saul asked, they all nodded and stared at her as she grabbed her things. Saul gave Faya a nod and smiled. She did the same in return, placing her headphones on and walked off. A sigh left her lips, as the headache disappeared almost instantly. Faya could feel someone following behind her, she turned around and saw the boy. She took her headphones off, smiling at him gently.
"You were pretty good out there." He said, smiling at her.
"Thanks, you were too."
"First year?" He asked, she nodded, fiddling with her bracelet.
"Don't listen to what they say, they're rude and obnoxious. They just have to get use to the change." Her cheeks changed to a tint of pink, glancing to her watch and smiled apologetically.
"I'm really sorry, but I have to go..." She trailed off, then started to run back to the Fairy hall. Faya drowned out everyone's thoughts by placing on her headphones. She stepped into the dorm, showing quickly and then got dressed as her other clothes were sweaty and started walking to the party.
There were a lot of people, even with the headphones she felt overwhelmed. Faya grabbed a drink, sipping on and stood in a corner. She watched people talk with each other, seeing people pass by. Faya zoned out to the music, thinking of her own thoughts and emotions.
"HELLO!" Faya jumped, looking at Musa and grinned sheepishly.
"I'm not allowing you to stand in a corner, you're coming with me." Faya followed her to a table, standing behind the table and made some quiet conversation ever now and again. She flinched at some thumps hitting her head at an overwhelming feeling of a headache. It was her body's way of telling her that the thoughts of other students was getting overwhelming.
Faya inhaled sharply, closing her eyes and placed a fake smile on. Turing towards Musa and exhaled tensely.
"I'll be back in a little while." She quietly said, hurriedly walking out and turned around a corner. Squeaking as she ran into someone's chest. She looked up, seeing it was the blonde boy from earlier and stood back.
"Are you alright?" He asked, she nodded, fiddling with her bracelet again.
"Yes, thank you." She lied, knowing he didn't believe her, even without reading his thoughts.
"I didn't catch a name." He said, seeing she wasn't in the mood to explain her emotions.
"Faya." She introduced, holding her hand out for him to shake.
"Sky." He said, shaking it. She smiled and turned her head to see Stella walking closer.
Act nice, otherwise Sky will hate you more. Be nice. Stella's thoughts repeated in her head, getting harsher every time. She flinched slightly, waving goodbye and quickly walked off. She headed to the training grounds, sitting on one of stone fighting rings. Letting her legs dangle off the edge and stare at the pond in front of her.
