A couple of days had passed, Faya had gotten a text from Musa saying they were coming back in a couple of days. She smiled texting her reply and then placed her phone down on her bed. Patting down her skirt, placed her coat on and walked outside. Once she got outside, her heels clicked against the stone a small tune escaping her lips.
Faya hadn't spoken to anyone for the last few days, just been hanging out by herself and practicing her magic. Hoping for her wings to come back, only she didn't want to drain herself too much so she didn't push herself too far. The clouds were grey, no blue sky showing. She was waiting for the storm to come, knowing it would be in the next few days.
A grin formed on her face seeing Sky, she jogged over to him stumbling in her boots and giggled as he caught her. A smirk on his lips, she had arms on his shoulders and his arms were wrapped around her waist.
"Why do you keep wearing heels? I'm sorry to say but you have trouble walking in them." She snorted, covering her mouth with a hand and looked into his eyes.
"The more I wear them, I hopefully will get better." He kissed her cheek, then her lips swaying slightly. He gave her a loving smile, keeping her wrapped in his arms.
"So, what are you doing out here?" He curiously asked, tucking some hair behind her ear.
"Just came looking for you, see how you were doing. Plus, I'm done isolating myself for no apparent reason." He chuckled, nodding and looked to the side seeing Saul. He stepped away from Faya, his joyful look slowly fading away. Faya walked over, Saul looked at her with an unreadable look.
"Everything okay?" She asked kindly, he nodded and cleared his throat.
"Are you okay, since that night?" Faya nodded and walked at Sky's side. He glanced at her, the smile returning and tugging at his lips. He turned his look towards Saul and listened to what he had to say. It was eating him from the inside out, he desperately wanted to tell her the truth and he honestly doesn't know why he hadn't told her the truth yet.
"Where's Riven?" Saul asked, looking at Sky.
"Don't know, probably getting high somewhere with Dane. Can't believe he knew this place was fucked way before I did. Didn't even take a dead dad." Sky bluntly said, Faya frowned glancing up at him, feeling bad that his friendship is coming apart.
"One day, I hope you will see everything I did was for your benefit Sky." Saul looked ashamed, like whatever he has told Sky was hurting him. Faya looked at the trees which were moving in the wind, she glanced at the birds that flapped in the skies and then back at the two men she was walking with. Saul stopped in his tracks, causing Sky and then Faya to stop.
"Faya, I need to talk with you." Faya could hear the importance in his voice and let her eyes scan over him with a concerned gaze.
"Okay..." She trailed off, her mind going over through a million things on what he had to say to her. They sat on the steps leading into part of the school, Sky sat behind a couple of steps above her. Saul sighed, rubbing his face and went to start talking about the truth.
"Faya, what I'm about to tell you will more than likely hurt you. Please remember, that I myself only found out a couple of days ago." She nodded slightly, panicking internally over the possible subjects that are going to be spoken about.
"Ericeth and Alyssa, they aren't your actual parents. They took you from your actual parents when you were seven."
"That's not possible, I remember all of my childhood. For my ninth birthday, th-they give me a guide of magical potential." Faya shook her, not believing a word he said.
"Faya, Ericeth has changed your memories, putting blocks in your mind. Have you realised things that didn't make sense? Like you blacked out and then woke up?" Faya slightly nodded, coming to realise all those moments that just felt weird.
"If what you're saying is true, who are my real parents?" She meekly asked, not looking up at him. She was afraid of the truth, really not wanting to have to face it.
"Your mother is a mind fairy, her side of the family is a very rare breed of fairies. That's why your wings were coloured and shaped the way they were. Her name is Evangeline, she's the kindest person I have ever met. She'd be proud of you."
"And my father?" Faya asked, Saul sighed and swallowed the lump that was in his throat.
"Faya... I'm your father." Her eyes widened, she stared at him and shook her head. Standing up, stressfully running her fingers through her hair. Her hands dropped down by her side, crouching down and let out a shaky breath. Her eyes flashed purple, she stared at the two men and shouted feeling everything that was taken away from her rush back. It was painful using her own magic on herself and then the emotional pain that was haunting her came like knives.
"You really are my dad." It slipped from her lips, tears running down her cheeks and sobs escaping her lips. She hugged him tightly, sobbing quietly and enjoyed the feeling of hugging her father again. He rubbed her back, pulled away and smiled sadly at her. Faya sniffled, swiped her tears away and took some shaky breaths.
"Have you contacted them?"
"Both of them haven't answered my calls, I'll make sure you're away from them." Faya smiled nodding and continued to take her shaky breaths. She was still trying to get her mind wrapped around it all. Faya felt tears swell up in her eyes, growing up believing Ericeth and Alyssa are her parents she always felt like they didn't really love her as parents should. Now she knows why, they never were her parents and they didn't seem to care.
"How are you feeling?" Saul asked, wanting to make sure she was okay with everything that she has been told.
"I mean, it sucks to know my childhood has been a lie. But I'm glad I know the truth and it's a relief to know that even though you weren't fully there, you were there." He nodded, smiling hearing her answer.
"When I was nine, there was a moment when my magic was playing up and I showed them my sixth birthday. When we went to those gardens that were by the crystal waterfall. I remember Ericeth looking at me amazed that I did it. Then he looked incredibly pissed, I was confused but it all makes sense now. He was pissed that I broke his block" She sat next to Sky, who grabbed her hand and gave her a nervous smile. When she was ten, after she had that encounter with the Burned One, she just remembers thinking she would have rathered have Saul as a father.
Both men were honestly surprised at her reaction, Sky expected instant rage that she was lied to and Saul expected her to also be annoyed but at him. Saul handed Faya two pictures, one of her with him at her seventh birthday and another when she two with Evangeline and Saul.
"We all look so happy, I wish we had more time." Saul rubbed her back, sighing quietly.
"I wish that too, but there is plenty for new memories." She smiled happily, cherishing the photos and went to hand them back to Saul.
"Keep them, I have some copies." Faya grinned, thanking him and placed them in her pockets. Many cars started pulling in, both Faya and Sky stood up. Standing at Saul's side, coming to realise they were the Solarian cars.
"Why are the Solarians here? I told them the attack was over." A car was on either side of the trio, the guards were running out and holding their weapons up. While Sky went to draw his sword, Faya used her magic, her eyes purple as normal and her hands holding the light purple energy balls.
"What the hell is going on!" Sky defensively questioned.
"Easy, hold off." Both of them slowly put their guards down, watching the scene unfold. Faya turned her head to see Queen Luna, rage building up quickly for the woman.
"Queen Luna." Sky's face was filled with confusion.
"Your Majesty." As was Saul's.
"Bitch." Faya mumbled under breath.
"Saul Silva, it's with a heavy heart I must place you under arrest." Faya and Sky both looked at Saul worried, then back at the lady dressed in pink.
"The attempted murder of Andreas of Eraklyon."
"Attempted?" Sky questioned, turning to the car and his eyes widened seeing his father alive and well.
"Hello, Sky."
"Dad." He breathed out.
"And the kidnapping of Faya Brooks." Faya swiftly turned on her heel seeing Ericeth and Alyssa walking towards them.
"He didn't kidnap me! You did!" Faya shouted, feeling her sadness and rage build up. They stood next to Andreas, listening to Queen Luna's orders. They started to cuff Saul up, quite a fair few of the Specialists gathering around them, soldier-like looks on their faces.
"Let him go!" Faya shouted, using her magic to separate the guards from Saul. Ericeth had ran in front of her, smirking evilly.
"Get out of my way bastard!" She shouted, literally sending him flying into the building. Hands grabbed her from behind, pulling her back despite hand kicks and screams.
"No! Let go of me!" Beatrix walked in front of her, placing on the same cuffs that she had on and immediately grinned as the mind fairy's magic shut off. Saul looked at her, giving her a sad look and complied with the guards' orders.
She cried out in pain, the metal tightened around her wrists and the heartache of having her father taken away from her once again.
"Let go of me!" She weakly shouted, almost going limp in the person's arms."
"Faya, calm down." It was Riven, she pushed him away and stared at him in disgust. He knew he deserved all her rage, he pretty much has betrayed her.
"Faya, let's go home." Alyssa's voice perked Faya's ears, causing the girl to run over and glare the woman down.
"I'm not going home with you, that place is not my fucking home and you are not my fucking mother nor is he my father!" She shouted, wishing she could cause them both a world full of pain after what they've put her through. Faya dropped to her knees, sobbing loudly.
"Faya, let's go." Riven gently said to her, trying to take her away from the scene. Trying to at least make it easier for her, as much as he could.
"NO!" She cried out in anguish, staying put on the ground and continued to cry. The girl must have passed out from crying, when she awoke she was in a cage. Knowing exactly where she was, she was in the room where they kept Beatrix. She stared at Rosalind, staying put on the bed.
"What do you want with me?" She asked glumly, staring at her. Looking down at her wrists and winced at the sharp stabbing pain.
"You'll find out in time."
"Oh please, enough with the dramatic hold. Tell me now and we'll deal with the shit storm sooner, rather than later." Faya rolled her eyes, crossing her arms across her chest.
"The shit storm has already landed." Faya glared at the woman, huffing and smirked looking at her wrists.
"Is this really necessary?" Rosalind chuckled dryly and nodded.
"With your magic, they really are."
"Where's Sky?" Rosalind smirked, giving a nod and placed her hands behind her back.
"Show yourself Basilia" Faya jumped off the bed, pressing her back up against the bars and stared at the Howler's creator. Basilia was trapped with the defenseless mind fairy, who was now ridden with fear.
"Do what you must." With that Rosalind walked out, Faya's screams echoing in her ears.
