It had been a few months and we ended up in Chicago. Nik had gotten Stefan to remember everything about the past with him and Bekah.

Bekah and I decided to go shopping. But Stefan and Nik went with us. Bekah was trying on some dresses.
" What do you think of this one?"
" Better. Much." I said.

"Good. Now you go try one Anna."

Nik smiled.
" Now there's the sister I know. Very pretty." Bekah spoke.
" Much better. You look amazing Anna." Stefan was watching me with shock evident.
" Well. What do you think Stefan?" Bekah asked. He smiled.
" Very pretty indeed." I blushed and looked away. Bekah smiled and spoke.
" Well. Nik can you join me for a second?"
" Sure." After my siblings left Stefan walked up to me.
" You're very pretty Anna."
" Thank you." Stefan smiled then spoke.
" Why do you stay with him?" I sighed.
" I need to keep my siblings safe. The only way to do that is to stay with him."
" Then be careful. Please." I sighed and smiled.
" I've been with him for over a thousand years. I'll be fine. Besides Nik isn't awful. I know he's a good big brother when he wants to be." I put a hand on his cheek.
"Thank you for worrying about me." He nodded and then pulled away.
" I need some air. I'll be back." I smiled and nodded. Once he left I sighed and spoke.
" You two are awful." Bekah and Nik came out. Bekah skipped over.
" He's perfect for you sister." I blushed and looked down. Nik smiled.
" He is." I shook my head.
" I can't." Bekah spoke.
" Why not sister?"
" I just can't. Love isn't for me anyway." Just then Stefan came back in. Bekah pulled me away.
"Last dress." I got changed into a dress.

When I went out Nik smiled.
" Definitely a keeper sister. Don't you agree Stefan?"
" Y....yeah. It looks nice."

Later Stefan and Nik were having a drink trying to take a break. Gloria, a witch, was trying to find a necklace Bekah had that was needed to contact mother. Bekah and I had changed clothes.

I watched as the two bonded. Then I sighed. This was getting dull. I meditated for a bit trying to find anything. Then I gasped and bent down.
" Anna?!" Bekah yelled. Nik rushed over.
" What is it sister?"
" The necklace. I can sense it."
" You know where it is?" I shook my head giving my brother a look. He seemed to understand. Just then Nik turned to Stefan.
" Would you give me a minute with my sisters?" Stefan nodded and left. Once he left I held my hands out to Nik. He took them and I showed him what I had seen. He growled.
"Well well. The doppelganger lives." Nik got up then looked at me. He came over and kissed my forhead.
" I'm sorry sister. But I may have to do one more little thing to make you upset." I nodded my head. Bekah pulled me close and held me. We were leaving. Going back to Mystic Falls.

We packed up then left. We ended up back at the high school. I stayed outside trying to focus while Bekah waited for Stefan to wake up. Once he woke up they fought. I stayed there while Bekah went to go bother Elena's friends. Stefan was busy healing from the beating he took from Bekah. After a bit he woke up. I sighed and spoke.
" My siblings have nasty tempers. Sorry about that." I sped to him and forced him to drink my blood. He drank and healed quickly.
" How........"
" I'm half witch Stefan. I can make my blood heal. Now. Let's go in and you are going to be loyal to my brother because I don't need another headache."
" Why are you helping me?"
" Ever hear of mates?"
" Yeah. All vampires have them right?"
" Yep. And I have one. You Stefan. And I really care about you so please. Go in there and make up with my brother so you don't die." He nodded his head and then put a hand on my cheek.
" I will. I promise." I smiled and leaned my forhead onto his.

We went into the gym. I sped to my brother.
" Come to save your damsel, mate?"
" I came to ask for your forgiveness. And pledge my loyalty."
" Well you broke that pledge once already."
" Elena means nothing to me anymore. Not now." I blushed and looked down. Nik noticed and chuckled.
" And whatever you ask of me......I will do."
"Fair enough. Let's drink on it." Nik walked up to the couple of students he had kept.
" Kill them." When Stefan hesitated Nik spoke again.
" What are you waiting for? Kill them." Nik turned his back and Stefan tried to attack him. I stood up ready to intervene. Nik compelled Stefan to behave. Now Stefan had done it.
" Now kill them. Ripper." Stefan did so. Nik went behind Elena.
" It's always nice to see a vampire in his true element. The species has become such a broody lot."
" No. You did this to him."
" I invited him to the party, love. He's the one dancing on the table. But there is a little something. Anna." I sped over to Stefan and wiped his mouth.
" Stefan. Tell Elena the truth. I know my sister told you."
" Elena. I don't love you. I found my mate. My true mate. Anna."
" No. You compeled him." Nik spoke.
" See love that's the thing. We can compel other vampires except when it comes to mates. Mates can't be compelled to become someone's mate. True mates can break the compulsion on the other. So if Anna wanted to she could break my compulsion on Stefan. She won't but they are mates." Just then Bekah stormed in.
" Where is it? Where's my necklace?"
" What is it now?"
" She has it Nik. Look."
"Where is.....it?"
" I don't have it anymore."
" You're lying!" Bekah attacked Elena but Nik pushed her off.
"Knock it off!"
" Make her tell me where it is, Nik!" He went over and bent down.
" Where's the necklace, sweetheart. Be honest."
" I'm telling the truth. Katherine stole it."
" Katerina. Of course. Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace that would make things a whole lot easier for your witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?" Nik turned the timer on.
" 20 minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feed again. Only this time, I want you to feed on Elena. You know you want to." Nik, Bekah, and I left.
" No one leaves. If she tries to run fracture her spine."

Nik and I were walking down the halls. Just then Elena ran into us. " Well. Well." Just then I gasped.
" Nik. I know what's needed." He looked at me.
" Her blood. Not much. Just a little bit." He nodded his head.
" Good. Go tell Stefan he can stop. I nodded my head." I sped away.

I found Stefan panting hard.
" Stefan. Stop. You don't have to kill her now." He stopped and fell down. I sped over to him and put a hand on his cheek.
" See. Easyish." He chuckled and I smiled.
" Now. Let's go." We went to where Bekah was with Tyler and Caroline.

I entered with a vial of Elena's blood.
" Hey sister."
" So. Verdict?"
"The original witch tried to tell me that the doppelganger needs to die. But it's the opposite." I nodded at Bekah. She held Caroline back. Just then Nik came in. I handed a vial of Elena's blood to Tyler.
" Now. Drink. It will help you." He looked unsure but took it. It worked. He showed his wolf form. I smirked and Nik looked happy. Perfect.

Nik took Elena to a hospital while I wandered with Stefan for a bit. Then we went back to find my siblings. Stefan left while I went to my siblings.
" Is that what this is about? Your obsession with hybrids. You just don't want to be alone?" I sped to him and hugged him. He held me close then spoke.
" You two get the truck. I'll get Elena." We left to get the truck. Damon ended up rescuing Elena. So we were staying for a bit.
