Annamarie pov
I was getting ready for the day. It had been a bit and things had been going well. I was constantly searching for Nik but to no avail. Today Eli and I were going to a tea party hosted in our honor.

" Remind me why we have to go to this?" My brother chuckled.
" Anna. We need these people to believe we are perfectly normal." I groaned.
" The day our family is perfectly normal is the day hell freezes over." Eli smiled and kissed my head.
" Still. We must put on appearances to........."
" I know. I know. To act as if nothing is amiss. Trust me brother I know."

"This acceptable brother?" Eli smiled.
" Very Anna. You look wonderful."
" Thank you." We left for the party.

Eli was talking to the mayor while I was going around. Just then I saw Damon going over to my brother. I went and stood next to him. Mayor Lockwood spoke.
" Elijah. Anna. I want you both to meet Damon Salvatore. His family is one of Mystic Falls founding families."
" Mhmm. Such a pleasure to meet you."
" No. Pleasure's mine."

After a bit the Salvatore drew us away.
" What can I do for you Damon?"
" I was hoping we could have a word."
" Where's Elena?"
" Safe with Stefan. They're laying low you know. Bit of a werewolf problem."
" Oh yeah. I heard about that."
"I'm sure you did since it was your witch that saved the day."
" You are welcome."
" Which adds to my confusion on exactly why you're here."
" Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe and leave the rest to me." Damon sped in front of my brother.
" Not good enough." Eli grabbed Damon by the throat and sped him into a wall. I saw Damon try to grab Eli by the throat but it had no effect.
" You young vampires, so arrogant. How dare you come in here and challenge me."
" You can't kill me, man. It's not part of the deal."
" Silence." Eli took a pencil and stabbed Damon in the neck. Then he released him.
" I'm an original. Show a little respect." Eli handed Damon his handkerchief.
" The moment you cease to be of use to me, you're dead. So, you should do what I say. Keep Elena safe." Eli came over and held out his arm to me. I linked mine with his.
" I'm sorry elskan. Shall we?"
" Please."

That night Eli went to the Salvatore house while I went to where Elena was. Trouble was brewing. I had changed clothes knowing I would get bloody.

Without weapons or glasses or headset

When I arrived I saw the wolves causing issues. I sped and handled them. Stefan and Elena looked shocked. I sighed.
" Wolves always cause trouble." I looked at Elena then realized someone was sneaking up behind me. I sped and ripped the heart out just like Elijah did.
" Well. This has been fun but I must go." I looked directly at Elena.
"Try to stay safe." I sped off.

When I made it to the flat I got undressed then ran a bath for myself. I was relaxing when my brother came in.
" So I trust your evening was productive."
" Of course brother. I always am productive." Eli smiled and kissed my head. Then he sighed.
" I think they wish to dagger me." I tensed.
" They have it then?"
" I believe so unfortunately."
" Well then. We'll just have to be extra careful." Eli sank down and looked at me.
" Anna. If they manage it I need you to be extra careful. Please don't be reckless."
" Eli. No. They can't........I mean......I won't loose you brother."
" Anna. You know what the dagger means. I won't die. Promise me sweet Anna. That you'll be cautious." I sighed and nodded.
" Of course brother. I promise." Eli smiled and kissed my head.
" Get some rest."
" Wait. Can't you stay with me Eli?"
" Of course angel." I smiled and got dried. Then I got changed and slept next to my big brother.

One day we had a tour with Jenna of a old property.
" The old Fell property actually starts just beyond that fence."
" Ah, the Fells. On of the founding families."
" Why do you say it like that?"
" My research showed me that this area was actually settled almost two full centuries earlier. It was a migration of townsfolk from the northeast, um, it was Salem, to be precise."
" Massachusetts? As in the witch trials?"
" Which means the ever lauded founding families.........they didn't actually found anything."
" Well I bet it was the men who made the deal about being founders in 1860. Men are very territorial." Eli and I both looked to see Alaric coming this way.
" Yes they are."
" Elijah. Anna. This is my friend Alaric Saltzman."
" Yeah, I got your message about walking Elijah and Anna here through the old property lines. I thought I'd tag along. You know being a history buff and all. Where to next?"
" I'm pretty curious about the freed slave property owners. Some say, you know, the descendants of the slaves are the true keepers of American history."
" Well I only brought the surveys. I got that list in the car. Just give me a sec." After Jenna left Eli spoke.
" Alaric Saltzman. You're one of the people on Elena's list of loved ones to protect."
" So is Jenna."
" You don't have to be jealous. I don't really pursue younger women. It's a joke, Ric, lighten up."
"Right." We walked back to where Jenna was.

After a bit Jenna took us to the grill. I was actually enjoying spending time with her. She saw Damon and Alaric and went over. We followed her. Damon spoke.
" So I here you had quite a meeting of historical minds today."
" Yeah, I guess you could say that." Alaric spoke.
" Well as much as I'd like to continue this I've got papers to grade." The girl with Damon spoke.
" No you know what? We should continue this. Let's have a dinner party."
" Ooh. My girl. Full of good ideas. I'll be happy to host. Say tonight, maybe?"
" It's good for me. Jenna?"
" I'm free." Eli shrugged.
" It'd be a pleasure."
" Great." I spoke.
" Well. I'm a little tired so I'm gonna go back. Eli?"
" Of course. I'll see you all tonight."

Once we made it back to the flat Eli spoke.
" You stay here tonight. Just in case." I nodded then hugged my brother tightly.
" Please be careful." Eli smiled and kissed my forhead.
" I'll be fine engill. I swear."
"Promise?"
" Of course."

That night I stayed with Jonas. He and I were trying to locate the burial ground of the witches. Suddenly I felt something. I gasped and bent down.
" Anna?"
" They've stabbed Elijah. I'm going to get them." I stood up.
" Find my brother. Now." Jonas nodded and did the spell. I found my brother. Just then the door opened and Eli came in. I sped over and wrapped my arms around him.
" You're safe."
" I am angel. I promised I would be." Jonas spoke.
" What happened?"
" I need you to find Elena. Now." Jonas nodded and searched for her. Eli and I took off.

We found the cabin they were staying. Eli picked up some stones and threw them at the door breaking it instantly. I heard Elena tell Stefan that Elijah and I couldn't come in the house and she was safe. Big mistake.
" You know, I might not be able to enter this house......But I'm a very patient man. I'll wait you out." Eli looked at me and nodded. I smirked and sped. I went in the house scaring Elena and Stefan.
" How.......You're a......."
" Hybrid darling. And as such certain rules don't apply to me. Now. Shall you come out and we can talk or you can simply invite my brother in." She walked to the door and spoke to Elijah. I sped back over to my brother.
" They shouldn't have done what they did."
" The deal is off."
"I'm renegotiating."
" You have nothing left to negotiate with." She pulled out a knife. I smirked and snorted.
" I'd like to see you lure Klaus into Mystic Falls after the doppelganger bleeds to death."
" Stefan won't let you die."
" No he won't. He'll feed me his blood to heal me and then I'll kill myself and become a vampire, just like Katherine did." Elijah looked at me and shook his head. I stepped back and let him handle it.
" So unless you want that to happen again. Promise me the same as before......promise me.......you won't harm anyone that I love. Even if they've harmed you."
" I'm sorry Elena. I'm going to have to call your bluff." She stabbed herself. Eli sped up but was stopped.
" Yes. Yes you can have your deal. Let me heal you."
" Give keep your word!"
" I give you my word." Just then Elena went to Elijah but I saw the dagger go through him.
" No!" I sped over to my brother. He looked at me and nodded. I teared up but didn't remove the dagger. Once he was unconscious I stood up.
" Big mistake loves. Big mistake." I sped off and went to the flat.

I got showered then changed. Time to show these idiots just who they were dealing with.
