Annamarie pov
I was getting changed for the day. Time for a little fun.

Time for the idiots to see the real me.

I went out to go to a luncheon.

When I arrived Mayor Lockwood greeted me.
" Anna. And where is your charming brother?"
" Ah. I'm sorry but Elijah had a emergency to handle. Some long lost item popped up and he wanted to see it first. But he sent his regards and hopes to see you soon." Just then I saw Elena and Stefan.
" If you'll excuse me." I went over.

" Hello Elena." She gasped and backed up.
" Now love. There's no need to be scared."
"Anna. I'm sorry." I sighed.
" Sorry? Sorry doesn't even begin to make up for it. See my brother was the only thing keeping me from showing you all my true power. Now that he's daggered there's nothing stopping me from ripping your baby vampires to shreds and taking you away. But I tell you what. I won't kill you or your loved ones and you don't try to kill me. Deal?"
" Deal."
" Good. Now play along and behave." I went away.

I went away and went to my flat. I was relaxing when I felt something. I spun around to find one of Klaus' witches.
" Anna. Your brother would like to see you."
" Where is he?"
" Come." I went to follow him.

I entered a flat. I went and searched till I found Katerina unconscious. I smirked.
" Perfect." Just then I noticed Alaric. The witch went over and began doing a spell I recognized. Body jumping. Just then Katerina woke up. Then Alaric stood up and walked over. No. Katerina tried to run but couldn't. He went over to her.
" Hello Katerina."
" Klaus."
" No. You need to get back in here Katerina. Come here and sit down." She walked in and sat down. Alaric, no Klaus, looked at me. 
" Hello Anna." I backed up.
" Brother." He walked over to me and put a hand on my head.
" Hello little sister. Now I know you. And I know how you are. So where's Elijah?" I glared.
" What makes you think I'll tell you Niklaus?"
" Now now sister. Please tell me."
" I don't know. The idiot Salvatore brothers daggered him."
"Hmmm. Well he'll have to stay there. Now. Go on playing your little game sister. I'll be watching you." I walked away then got tears in my eyes.
" Niklaus. I will never forgive you for harming our siblings. I want them back." I sped off.

Three days
Three days had passed and I had kept out of my brother's sight.

I was outside walking when I sensed something. I turned to see Eli standing there. I ran over and threw my arms around him. He pulled me to him.
" Relax engill. I'm right here." I saw Elena next to him.
" Now. Shall we?"
" Lijah. Wait. Niklaus. He found me. He's here." Elijah sighed and pulled me even closer. He kissed my forhead.

We went into a car. Elena drove while Elijah drank some blood. After a bit she stopped the car.
"You look better."
" Where did you get the dagger?"
" I'll tell you everything. But we have to work together, Elijah. I need your word."
"Your ability to make demands has long passed."
" No demands. I'm offering you my help. And in return I want yours."
" And why should I even consider this?"
" The same reason you haven't killed me. You need my help to kill Klaus. And I need you." Elena answered her phone just then. She told Stefan and Damon to stay put as well that she could trust us. After she hung up Eli took her phone. She explained what had happened.
" He's taken over Alaric's body."
" Of course he has. One of his favorite tricks."
" Well, what are his other tricks? What is he going to do next? You're the only one who knows him."
" Yes I do." We ended up at Mayor Lockwood's house.

She opened the door.
" Elijah. Anna. Elena. What are you doing here? What happened?"
"I've had a bit of an incident, Carol. I'm hoping you could help."
" Well, I'm on my way to a meeting, so I......."
" I won't take but a minute of your time."
" Of course. Anything you need."
" Thank you. Well, first things first. I'm going to need a change of clothing."
" Well, we can try one of my husband's suits I haven't boxed them up yet."
"Wonderful." Once the mayor left Elena spoke.
"How did you know she's not on vervain."
" Cause I'm the one that got her off it. Right before you and your friends killed me. Twice. If you'll excuse me I'll be down in a moment." Elijah went to go change. Elena looked at me.
" When you said you were a hybrid......."
"Half witch. Half vampire. The only of my kind." Just then Eli came down. Carol left but we stayed in the house.

" So I assume the Martin witches are no longer with us."
" No. I'm sorry."
" And Katerina. She should have been released from my compulsion after I died."
" Klaus took her. We think that she may be dead."
" I doubt that. Not Klaus' style. Death would be too easy for her after what she did."
"I don't understand. You say that you want Klaus dead, but you still made Katherine pay for betraying him."
" I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay. There was a time.......both Anna and I would have done anything for Klaus." Elijah told her a bit of our past.
" Yes. Klaus is our brother."
" I heard that. I'm still processing."
" Yes, I'm a little behind on the times, but I believe the term you're searching for is omg." I chuckled.
" There's a whole family of originals?" I spoke.
" Unfortunately, sometimes, but yes. We have more siblings." 
" Our father was a wealthy land owner in eastern Europe. Our mother bore eight children."
" So your parents were human?"
" Our whole family was. Our origin as vampires is a very long story, Elena. Just know......we're the oldest vampires in the world. We are the original family, and from us, all vampires were created."
" Right but Klaus is your brother. And you want him dead?" I sighed. Eli spoke.
" I need some air. I'm still feeling a tad.......dead. Come." We went off.

" So as you've seen. Nothing can kill an original. Not sun, not fire, not even a werewolf bite. Only the wood from one tree; a tree my family made sure burned."
" That's where the white ash from the dagger comes from."
" Yes. The witches won't allow anything truly immortal to walk the earth. Every creature needs to have a weakness in order to maintain the balance."
" So if the sun can't kill an original why is Klaus so obsessed with breaking the sun and moon curse." I snickered and Eli smiled.
"Right. The curse of the sun and the moon. It's all so......biblical sounding, don't you think?"
" What's so funny?" I smiled and told her about Nik drawing the Aztec sketches.
" I don't understand. So Klaus drew the Aztec sketches about the curse?"
" Roman scrolls, African tribal etchings, and any other culture or continent we felt like planting in it."
" But why?"
" Easiest way to discover the existence of a doppelganger or to get your hands on some long, lost moonstone is to have every single member of two warring species on the lookout for it."
" So it's not Aztec at all?" I smiled and spoke.
" The curse of the sun and the moon......is fake. It doesn't exist."
" What?" Eli spoke.
" Klaus, Anna, and I faked the sun and the moon curse dating back over a thousand years."
" But if there's no curse......."
" There's a curse. Just not that one. The real one's much worse. It's a curse placed on Klaus."
" What are you talking about?"
" Klaus has been trying to break it for the last thousand years. You were his only hope."
" What is this curse?" Eli sighed and took Elena's phone out.
" Your phone will not stop its incessant buzzing. Answer it, please." Elena did so and then when she hung up she spoke to us.
" Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her."
" I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement."
" She's my family, Elijah. I have to. I'll be back. You have my word."
" That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it."
" Thank you." I saw Elijah go deep in thought. I smiled sadly and took his hand. I squeezed it. Elijah smiled and kissed my head.
" I'm fine little one." I nodded and grinned. I ran away and waited. He chased after me.

After a bit we went to the mayor's house. It wasn't long before Elena came in.
" Welcome back." Eli greeted her.
"Tell me. What is Klaus' curse?"
" Please." Eli motioned for Elena to sit down.
" My family was quite close. But Klaus and my father did not get on too well. When we became vampires, we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father's son. My mother had been unfaithful many years before. This was her darkest secret. Klaus is from a different bloodline. Of course, when my father discovered this, he hunted down and he killed my mother's lover and his entire family. Not realizing, of course, that he was igniting a war between species that rages until this day."
" Between species?"
" The vampires.....and the werewolves."
" So Klaus' real father was from a werewolf bloodline? What does that make Klaus? A werewolf? Or a vampire?"
" He's both. A hybrid would be deadlier than any werewolf or vampire. Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, the servants of nature, saw to it that my brother's werewolf side would become dormant."
" That's the curse Klaus wants to break?"
" He wants to trigger that part of him that's a werewolf. If allowed, Klaus would sire his own bloodline. He'd build his own race. Endangering not just vampires, but everyone."
" But you helped him."
" I helped him because I loved him. That's changed, now he must die."
" Wait. But aren't you a hybrid?" Elena looked at me.
" Yes. I'm half vampire and half witch. But as witches are servants of nature I was able to maintain the balance as nature saw it." Elena spoke.
"We have the dagger now. We can stop him."
" When a werewolf is wounded by silver, it heals. An original can't be killed by anything but white oak ash on a silver dagger. So you see the conundrum. The dagger does not work."
" What are you saying? That Klaus can't be killed?"
" There's one way to kill any supernatural species.....at the hands of the servants of nature themselves."
" A witch. If they can channel that much power. But it would kill them."
" The curse must be broken during the full moon. When Klaus is in transition. That's when he'll be at his most vulnerable. A witch with enough power......can kill Klaus."
" What if I told you that I knew a witch that could channel that much power?"
" Then I would tell you there's one more thing that you should know." Elijah told Elena the truth.
" You found a way to save the life of the doppelganger?"
" Yes Elena. I did. But unfortunately, Katerina took matters into her own hands first. I believe you already know how that played out." Elijah handed Elena her jacket.
" You cared about her, didn't you?"
" It's a common mistake, I'm told. And it's one I won't make again."
We went to the Salvatore house. We found Damon and Stefan at odds.
" Now you've invited them in?"
" We've renewed the terms of our deal."
" Really?" Damon asked.
"The two of you will come to no harm at my or my sister's hands. I only ask for one thing in return."
" What?"
" An apology."
" A what?"
" I'm sorry for the part that I played in your death. I was protecting Elena. I will always protect Elena." Stefan said.
" I understand."
" Sacrifice is going to happen Damon. Bonnie will be able to kill Klaus without hurting herself and Elijah knows how to save my life. I told you I'd find another way and I did."
" Is that true?"
" It is." Eli said.
" And you're trusting him?"
" I am."
"You can all go to hell." He took off. This wasn't going to be easy.
