Annamarie pov
I was in the library reading when Jane came in.
" Anna. Found you finally." I smiled and spoke.
" Hey Jane. What's up?"
" Well. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me, Alec, Demetri, and Felix?" I smiled.
" I'd love to. It would be nice to get away." She grinned and pulled me up.
" Good. We should go out to that little beach." I nodded my head. I got ready to go then went out.

We went to the beach and began to relax. At one point Jane came over and laid on her stomach while the boys just had fun.
"Are you okay?" I heard Jane ask me. I sighed and lay on my back.
"I'll be fine. Eventually. Actually. Can you keep a secret?" Jane nodded her head and I knew the guys were listening.
"I'm going to stay here for a bit. I need a break. Besides I can't handle watching anymore family members die. It would hurt me too much." Jane smiled and put a hand over my own. I smiled back and squeezed her hand. I still remember the day Aro brought Jane and Alec home with him. I immediately felt a sisterly bond to both of them.

Flashback
I was in the library with Marcus when Caius came in with a rather serious expression.
"Aro's back. He has the twins he's been watching with him." I looked shocked then sped to where Aro was.

I found him in a room near a bed.
"Aro?" He smiled softly and motioned me over. I went over and saw two young people on the bed.
"Oh my god." I muttered in my native tongue. The two children had burns all over them that were healing.
"They were burned at the stake. For being witches." I frowned and sat down near the girl. I put a hand on her head and brushed some hair from her cheek.
"Go hunt. I'll stay here." He nodded and left.

I read for a bit before I heard a gasp. I looked and saw the girl awake.
"Good. You're awake." I went over and held out my hand.
"It's alright young one. I'll help you."
"Who are you?"
"Annamarie. But you can call me Anna. And what is your name?"
" Jane." I smiled and sat down.
" You have nothing to fear Jane. You won't be casted out here."
" How........"
" I'm an original darling. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Besides that, Aro's been watching you two for a bit so he knows everything." Jane looked unsure just then I felt a pain I bent down and groaned. Immediately the door was opened and Demetri rushed to me.
"Anna?"
" I'm fine Demetri." Jane looked horrified.
" I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. It just happened." I smiled softly.
" It's alright Jane. I told you I'm a original. It takes a lot to kill me. But at least now we know your power." She still looked scared so I went over and hugged her. She held onto me tightly. I brushed her hair with my fingers. I saw her brother awake and watching quietly. I felt the bond that tied me to them. I wanted to protect them like a sister would.
End of flashback

After a bit we dried and went to the castle.

When we went in I ran to Caius and gave him a hug. He smiled and hugged me back. Aro chuckled while Marcus held a fond smile.

When I had first met them they reminded me so much of my family that I couldn't help but think of them as family. It was only later that we found out, thanks to Marcus, that I see them as family.

I sat down and closed my eyes. Caius spoke.
" You haven't changed at all." I smirked and shrugged, opening my eyes.
" After thousands of years it becomes difficult to change." I looked at the three with a fond smile.
" And you three haven't changed truly. You may act like it but you're still the same people I knew." Aro smiled and sat down next to me.
" Are you alright?" I froze then looked down.
" Not really. I lost my brother and found out that someone who I thought was my mate hurt me in more ways than anyone could." Aro pulled me close and rubbed my back. I leaned into his chest and cried. Caius held my hand while Marcus stayed by me. Aro spoke.
" It's not your fault Anna." I sighed and spoke.
" It is partly. I should have been able to do something." Marcus spoke.
" Anna. Do you still feel guilty?" I looked away and didn't speak. Caius spoke.
" It wasn't your........."
" Don't you dare! It was my fault. My father tried to murder you three simply because I showed care towards you. I should have tried harder to protect you." Tears began to flow down my cheeks. Caius pulled me close and rubbed my back.
" You'll be fine Anna. We won't let you be hurt." Marcus spoke.
" Caius is right Anna. You'll be fine. We'll make sure of that." I sighed and smiled.
" Thank you." Marcus nodded and smiled back. I knew my other family would help no matter what.
