Harley & Mallory.
"Good morning Doctor Roosevelt." Harley greeted his mate as they lay in bed, it was a snowy yet beautiful morning and Harley enjoyed waking up in his mate's arms. "Good morning Sir Roosevelt." Mal replied with a yawn that made Harley's wolf coo. "Are you somehow imposing your surname on me because I like it." Harley growled and began tickling his mate. "Stop, Har—stop!" He began to wheeze in between his giggles and laughter.
"No I won't, you're too sensitive not to do this." Harley defended as he kept on his assault on Mal's body, Mal overturned the situation when he hit Harley with a pillow, of course, the pillow burst open and feathers along with foam burst from it. "Oh you're on lover." Harley growled and lightly hit Mal, the two began bouncing on the bed as they fought, it was childish and unlike them both, but no one was there, no one would see them and no one would care anyway, they didn't.
"I'm gonna get you!" Harley exclaimed and tackled his mate onto the bed, Mal screamed as he went down but the two of them burst into another fit of laughter. "Do I win for taking you down?" Harley grinned as he snaked his way onto Mal's nipples. "Depends." Mal conceded. "On what exactly?" Harley questioned as he assaulted Mal's neck with bites and kisses. "Uhh, uhm, you help me get to the bathroom and we finish this there." Mal stated with a fond look in his eyes and Harley lifted him up with ease and walked to the bathroom.
After cleaning up and several rounds of sex Harley finally left Mal to finish his bath so he could make breakfast. It was cold as usual but lately, the cold didn't bother Mallory, he was warm and happy, he didn't need to do anything to smile, thinking of his mate made his lips curve into a goofy grin, like they were right now. He sighed knowing appointments were piling up and he needed to show up for work at some point.
He got out of the tub, dried his body along with applying lotion but his hair was moisturized with Harley's moisturizer because somehow it worked better than his own and his hair was practically glowing, he picked out a suit for his man and a somewhat semi professional attire for himself, it was a lazy day and he wasn't even going to try. "Babe breakfast." Harley called through the mind link just as he finished wearing his shoes.
Mal made his way downstairs with a smile, the smell of food reminded of dinner, Harley was spoiling him, when he got to the kitchen the breakfast sausages which were supposed to smell divine made his stomach grumble, the wrong way. "Please get that out of here." He complained and immediately Harley removed it. "You feeling okay?" He questioned but Mal was still settling his stomach. "Yeah better, I don't know what's wrong with me, I love those." Mal whined and Harley seemed concerned about his mate.
"I will make an appointment with Dr. Oldberg, he should know if something is wrong." Harley offered the rest of the food and Mal ate hungrily, he didn't argue with Harley, he could feel the literal concern dripping off him through their bond. "He said two thirty next week Wednesday." Harley informed his mate and Mal nodded gratefully, he needed to know as well.
In the time he had been living with Harley which was close to a few weeks or rather months, Mal couldn't really remember, he had taken care of his health perfectly, and had more sex in that time than his whole life which begs the question what was wrong with him, he didn't dwell on it as Harley began telling him about a case he was to work on, about a murder he wasn't too fond of. "You do know he's guilty right?" Mal asserted and Harley nodded. "My job is to make a better story, and prove he's not guilty, it's what I'm being paid for." He replied with a lopsided grin and Mal snorted.
"I hate your job, but it's your passion and I support it." He added placing a kiss on Harley's forehead, the two of them ate and finished breakfast with any conversation that came to mind, it was always easy for them to talk for hours on end. "Go change, I will clean up." Mal instructed and Harley made his way upstairs as his mate cleared the breakfast bar. Their lives were in perfect sync, it seemed effortless but it wasn't, it had taken a while to get to the point they were at now and it would always take more to go further but Mal was all for it.
"Babe can't find the keys." Harley spoke through their link and Mallory chuckled, his mate always forgot. "Your keys are in the bowl by the door babe, we never left the house yesterday and you left the keys in the bowl by the door when we got in." Mal explained and he heard a faint chuckle from his mate after he had explained. Harley quickly took his briefcase along with Mal's coat and made his way downstairs. "Let's go, babe, we've got busy days." Harley urged his mate as he helped him put his coat on.
When they got to the garage through the kitchen there were three cars and Mal couldn't choose which one they would use. "The Audi then." Harley stated with a chuckle as he opened the door to the Audi, Mal also chuckled along with him, it was always him that chose the car they would use but he never really chose because when he got to the point Harley would've chosen already. "You have to come to see ranger, he's so adorable." Mal cooed as he sat next to his man who was driving.
"So you've decided on adopting him?" Harley question with a smirk that made Mal shiver. "Yes, I have, and you're the one who brought it up since no one wants him." Mal replied as they drove past houses and mansions to get to his clinic. "Fine, we can adopt the puppy, but on one condition and this is coming from Shadow." Harley paused as his shifted to that of his wolf's. "He doesn't get more cuddles than I do, then we're good." Shadow spoke with somehow a deeper voice and Mal loved it.
"I give you my word, you're my one true love and I would never cuddly with anyone more besides you and Harley, maybe we can do that thing tonight, just remind Harley, I will be waiting for you." Mal responded biting his lip and in response Shadow licked his own. "Good mate, tonight I'm ravishing you." The wolf responded and as he did he gave over control to Harley. "So I hear you and Shadow are having some good times tonight." Harley called out making Mal blush.
"Yes we are, he also needs to be satisfied, you're both mine after all." Mal asserted trying hard not to blush further with how Harley was eyeing him, those eyes of his that bore into his soul and demanded submission in its perfect form. "He's already satisfied with what you give him, now you're just spoiling him, like how I know you'll be spoiling ranger." Harley retorted and Mal glared at him, though it was true, Harley wasn't supposed to make it true.
They finally got to the clinic just as Hilda was opening the front door. "Love you, babe." Mal waved off his mate with a kiss, Harley waited by the car till Mal was safely inside, once he was he got around the car and drove off to his own workplace.

"You're glowing, I can only imagine one activity that would have you glowing." Hilda teased as Mal got into the clinic. "Oh shut it, tavern wench, I always glow but for your sake, I will agree that it is what you think, that's making me glow, life is good." Mal confessed as he walked into his office. "I heard from Zach what happened at the ceremony, sorry you had to go through all that drama." Hilda expressed with genuine care and it warmed Mal's heart. "We are both okay and have gotten past it, now we get to live our lives just how we want." Mal asserted, it was true that now he and his mate no longer needed to worry about the pack or the patriarch, they were free of them.
"That's good to hear, let's get to work then, you missed a lot of it yesterday." Hilda informed and Mal groaned, she chuckled watching her friend whine about not being able to get a break but he still loved his job and she loved being his assistant not just because the pay was good but because she felt like she belonged.
Mal got to work, checking animals, treating them, and checking them out, the best part about his job was seeing the smiles on his client's faces when they got to see their pets well again. "Bye Mr. Perky." Mal cooed the animal as it's owner checked it out of the clinic, when lunchtime rolled in, he was exhausted, he had never worked this hard in a while.
"Is he here yet?" Mallory asked his assistant, she knew who he was asking for and he had indeed come for lunch. "He's in the patient waiting room with Ranger." Hilda replied as she turned to answer a call, Mal walked down the hall to the patient waiting room and found his mate holding the barking puppy. There was something about how the dominant alpha male was holding the little puppy that made Mal swoon, it was just utterly adorable.
So he quickly took a photo and promised himself he would get it printed. "Hey you." Mal greeted the lawyer with a kiss, the puppy whined wanting attention as well. "And you too Ranger, how are you, I see you've met your papa." Mal remarked as he scratched the bundle of cuteness wagging its tail with excitement. "We're taking you home with us." Mal asserted and he meant every word of it, his home never truly felt homey but with Harley there, it felt so warm and lively, with the new addition to their family it seemed home was becoming better with each passing day.
Harley knew this was the first of many additions to their family, and he couldn't be any happier as his mate was happy, his life had been pointless and home was a cold place with noting but passing bed warmers that never truly made him feel what Mal made him feel, so when Mal said they were going home he felt happy and fulfilled.
