The next day swiftly came and I was sat in the middle of the main lecture hall, waiting for Luke to come. While finishing up the last parts of my chorus, I kept blushing at the memories of the other day. Luke was really something. Not only was he so open about what he was thinking, but also mysterious, in a shy and cute way. Professor Stevenson entered the hall, but I took into account that Luke still wasn't around. I felt worried, "Where could he be?" I thought to myself, scanning the room.
Just then, a tall blonde boy bursted through the doors, causing everybody to fix their attention oh him.
"Um...sorry I'm late." Luke stuttered out as he took his seat next to me, flashing a quick smile as he ran his fingers through his very messy hair.
"Why are you late?" I asked, barely being able to pry my eyes off of him.
In attempt to fix his hair even more, he muttered "I kinda slept in."
I opened my mouth to say something but Professor Stevenson beat me to it, "Luke and friend, please step up to the front and present your song."
Luke, with a shocked expression, still trying to tame his hair, gave up and grabbed his paper and walked straight up to the front with me trailing behind him.
"You first." I pushed him slightly as he sat on the stool on the stage and picked up the guitar on the side. Without any introduction, he started.
"I like the summer rain," he started out smoothly as I remembered their little 'bath' yesterday.
"I like the sounds you make," he continued as I drifted back to the day before where I was laughing and luke found that very funny.
"We put the world away, yeah we're so disconnected."
"You are my get away, you are my favorite place." I flashed back to the time they were in the coffee shop, a light blush creeping up my cheeks.
"We put the world away, yeah we're so disconnected." He strummed the last chord and the professor applauded loudly as the whole hall followed suit. But Luke just stared at me, blushing red too.
"That was excellent! Bravo!" The professor cheered as the clapping lowered down.
Luke placed the guitar back down and got off the chair. "Your turn." He whispered lowly in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
I got up on the chair, grabbed the guitar, and started, not even bothering to think of a good intro.
"And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees then baby, we just gotta get out, we just gotta get out." I looked up timidly at Luke who was looking straight at me, a little trace of a smile on his lips.
"And if the the skyscrapers tumble down and crash around then baby we just gotta get out we just gotta get out." I ended quickly and got off of the chair, applauding heard from all around the room.
The professor got up from the chair and headed to the side of Luke and I and said, "That's, how you do it! Give them another round of applause!" And the whole hall erupted in another fit as me and Luke sat back down.
"Hey," I started as he looked at me, "that was a really nice song, thanks." I said almost too softly for Luke to hear.
"Your song was nice too. Thanks as well." He smiled, but seemed quite distant.
A silence filled us in and it was a little bit tense, he seemed a little bit stiff, his posture shaky and his fists balled to the sides.
"Hey," he started this time, making me look up at him.
"Yes?" I asked almost too politely.
"Can...I mean, may we meet at the coffee shop again at, say, four? I wanna talk to you about...something." He said, scratching the back of his head.
"Yah, sure!" I smiled widely as Luke's tense posture eased and he smiled back.
I couldn't focus on all of the other performances as I thought about that song that Luke wrote for me. I felt special, in a way. I looked up at him, seeing as he was already staring at me, I looked back down as a blush covered my cheeks. I felt warm all over. I didn't know how I felt towards Luke, but all I knew was that I felt a certain...blissfulness when I was around him.

Hey guys! Hope someone's actually reading this. So, this was a short chapter and also a filler, but it's pretty necessary. But I swear the juicy parts of this book are coming soon.
And about the songs, just "pretend" that Gayle actually wrote Gotta Get Out. For the story's sake :)
