Epilogue

10 years later...

"Can we have the next question please?" The announcer said as more flashes lit up the stage.

I sat at a panel with my cast mates with Saoirse by my side. I felt less nervous since she was there.

"Yes, hi! I'm Jacob and can I just say you are literally an icon Amari!"

"No you are! You and everyone else who's been supporting me throughout these years have been my saving grace," I responded with a wide smile for the young brown skinned teen.

"So humble! Anyways, I wanted to ask about your first job before Fly Girls and getting famous?"

Bloody hands.

I kept my smile tight and sweet as to not scare the boy away from his inquiry.

Show no resistance. Be completely transparent.

"It's no secret that I was an assistant on the set of To Light My Fire. As a matter of fact the president of the fan club, Reagan Mills, did an amazing story on that experience and you can see her at one of the booths. Overall though it was an honor being able to work with and look up to strong women like Saoirse, of course, Kiana Washington and Claire Evans, may she Rest In Peace."

Kiana. That bitch.

I let out a breath and mentally gave myself a pat on the back.

"Next and last question for the cast," the announcer said once more.

A young man with a mess of curly blonde locs and eyes the color of freshly watered grass stood up in the front row. The stranger had the rugged stature of someone who had lived through the worst times and always remembered them.

"I have a question for Amari," the gruff but honeyed voice of the stranger echoed through the auditorium.

"What's your question darling?"

"What exactly happened at the premiere for To Light My Fire 11 years ago?"

This stranger no longer seemed anomalous.
