37. Date
Dane recovers well.
It's been two weeks now, and he isn't dizzy anymore. He still stumbles, but that's just because of the huge bruise on his side. For the rest, he's okay.
We walk down the stairs as I hear Jack talking to my parents. "I just... I discovered something, I think. And I don't want you to be disappointed in me, or mad or something."
I hear the pain in his voice. Frowning, we walk in and Jack's eyes widen then he gulps. Mom looks scared, Dad has no expression. Jack looks down at the floor.
"I'm bi."
Dad starts laughing. Mom smiles at him. Dane just looks shocked and I smile too. Mission Noah plus Jack, here I come.
Jack looks small, so I stand up and hug him. "Why would we be disappointed in you? You just made yourself cuter," I smile, and squeeze his cheeks. He narrows his eyes at me, but smiles too. "Thanks, sis."
Mom hugs him too. "Boy, mad? What do you think of us? You're still my little Jack Russell," she grins. Jack cringes. "Mo-hom. Not where my friends are."
She giggles and sits down again. Jack steals a glance at Dad, but quickly looks down again. Dad shakes his head. "So, who made you discover that?" he asks.
I glare at Dad. Can't he be a little more supportive?
Apparently, he notices. "Oh, I'm sorry, Jack. I'm totally fine with it, it's just funny it's almost at the same time like Willow discovering hate is something else than love," he chuckles. I groan, and Dane smirks.
Every. Time.
Jack sighs relieved and smiles. "Eh, he's in my class," he hesitantly says. Now I smirk. Maybe I don't need to help...
I get up and walk to the toilet. I text Noah.
Me: How's the mission?
Noah: Pretty good, actually
Me: He's bi
Noah: ;)
I gasp, then giggle. Of course. I walk back to the living room and wink at Jack.
Me: Noah, hm?
Jack: Shut up. He's nice
Me: And crushing on u since forever
Jack: Yeah, he told me
Me: So?
Jack: I'm working on it, leave me
I roll my eyes. He doesn't have the guts to ask Noah out. I'll talk about it with him. For now, I leave it.
Dane searches attention and reaches for me. I giggle and give him a kiss on his hair. He pouts. "I need hugs," he begs. I shrug. "Maybe Jack can give you some," I smirk and walk up to my room.
And, as I expected, Dane follows me. I'm just halfway my way to my bookshelf as he picks me up and throws me on the bed. He had a murderous look in his eyes, but somehow I know he's playing. He jumps on me and starts tickling me.
"Give. Me. Hugs!"
I scream, laughing so hard, yet he's not stopping. "O-okay, you-you're getting hu-hugs!" I shout and he stops. Panting, I climb on his torso and give him his hug. He grins. "You're so easy to manipulate."
I gasp, fake-shocked. "I am not! I just can't handle tickles," I shrug and nestle into his chest. I need hugs too...
He chuckles and kisses my hair. "I love you." I melt," I love you too, baby." He smiles.

"So, what's your next step?"
He shrugs. "I don't know, he just came out, I don't want to push him." He's so cute.
I'm in a small and cozy cafe with Noah. He wanted to talk about Mission Noah Plus Jack, Mission NPJ, but none of the boys know he's gay. So we decided to do it in private.
"But he likes you. I'm sure about it. Now, what's your dream date?" I ask, opening Pinterest on my phone. He shrugs. "I do like those aesthetic picknick dates," he smiles.
He bends over the table to look at my phone. "See? That one is nice," he points. It's a picture of a guy on a blanket in the grass, with all sorts of snacks and a smile. The meadow he's in is covered by colorful flowers.
I smile. Of course. He's so soft, I wanna eat him up. "What is nice? The date or the guy who's on the blanket," I tease and he rolls his eyes. "If only it was Jack on that blanket," he muses.
Rolling my eyes, I hit his arm. "Please don't ever say that again. Just the thought of my brother having sex," I shiver. Ew. He gives me a dazed smile. "I wasn't thinking of sex, but now you've said that, I can't stop thinking about it."
I shiver again. "Okay, casanova, how are you going to ask him out?" He jumps out of his day-dream and stares at me in horror. "I have to ask him out?" Oh. My. God. How is this boy so innocent?
"Of course you do! How can you be together if you don't ask him out?" He shrugs, seeming to realize it. "I just kinda thought Jack would ask me," he whispers. Oh poor boy.
I soften my eyes and take his hand in mine. "You can do it, Noah. And I'll be waiting around the corner when you do it," I comfort him and he nods. "I just... I have really bad anxiety," he sighs. Same!
"I know how it feels. But here's your bestie to help you," I smile. He looks up, surprised. Then, he cringes, teasingly. "Oh no, please don't tell me we're besties. I'm not surviving that," he groans. I giggle. "Bad luck then."
He winks at me and stands up. "I'm going to the bathroom. I'll be back in two minutes, okay?" I nod and watch him disappear. Then, I return my gaze to my phone, but am horrified as I see someone standing next to our table.
I quickly look up, seeing it's Dane. Immediately, a smile is on my face. "Hi, baby! I didn't know you we-" He interrupts me, eyes as cold as his voice. "Oh, I know you didn't know I was standing across the street. Because if you did, you wouldn't cheat on me with one of my best friends, would you?"
I frown. "I wasn't cheating, I'm just meeting Noah here. What's wrong with that?" He narrows his eyes, glaring at me. "Oh really? You were all laughing and touchy with him. I bet he's nicer and sweeter than me, just because he's a softie."
Yes, my need to explain all of this is overwhelming, but my need to defend Noah is bigger.
"He is not a softie," I growl. He shrugs. "Whatever. He's a softie, you're a slut and we are over. Go fuck someone else, because you ain't getting it from me," he snaps and walks out of the cafe.
I gasp. Tears sting in my eyes as I see Noah walk back to me. "Hey, Willow, I had this great ide- Oh my God, are you okay? What happened?" He quickly takes my arm in his hand, pushing me back down on my chair. He forces me to look in his eyes.
"D-Dane saw us together and thought I was cheating on him. And then he called me a slut and said we're over," I sob. Noah growls, curses under his breath and pulls me in a hug. I cry into his shoulder while his hand rubs my back.
I calm down, still sobbing a little. "Am I a slut?" I whisper-ask Noah. His eyes widen and he frowns sympathetically. "Oh, poor baby. Don't believe him, he's just mad. Listen to me, you are not a slut, do you understand?"
He looks in my eyes. I nod and he smiles at me. "Let's get you home," he says and winks. I roll my eyes. Of course he's taking me home, Jack is there.
We walk in silence to my house, and as I open the front door, he inhales nervously. Now I wink at him and he smiles hesitantly. "I'm gonna do it, Willow. I'm going to ask him out," he says and walks upstairs. I nod.
"Good for you! I believe in you!"
