28. Light blue
"Baby, where are you?"
I hear the frown in his voice and feel bad I left him alone in the bed. But I had to do my hair and make-up!
"I'm in the bathroom, come here," I shout and see him walking to me in the huge mirror. He wraps his arms around me from behind and overwhelms my neck with kisses. I giggle and push him away softly.
He makes a sound of unapproval, then frowns when he sees what I'm doing. "What are you doing?" I shrug. "Putting on make-up. You want to show off with me, right?"
He nods. "Yes. But that make-up is hiding the one thing I want to show off. It's ruining it." Really? I look at myself in the mirror. He's kinda right...
I hear a zip and he hands me a make-up remover. "Who told you you need make-up? I like you more without," he says and wipes the make-up away.
I smile. I really can be myself with him.
He takes my hand in his and we walk to the breakfast room. Everyone of our friend group is already there, and they smirk at us. Tyson cocks an eyebrow at me. "Young lady, Dane has to be back home at ten pm. What is the reason he wasn't? You?"
I giggle and nod. "We were sleeping," I say and sit down. Dane clicks his tongue and I look up. He grins and me and sits down next to men, then picks me up and sets me down on his lap. I giggle and lean into him.
Oliver chuckles. "Sleeping, sure," he jokes and I nod. "Yes. Right, Dane?" I ask, but he seems unfocused. He's playing with my hair and not paying attention at all. "Your back-up sucks," Oliver teases and I roll my eyes.
Dane gives me a kiss. I smile.
A teacher interrupts us by shouting across the room.
"We're going to the Eiffel tower today."
I yelp in excitement. I've always wanted to visit the Eiffel tower!
I turn around to look at Dane, but he still seems focused on my hair. Is there something wrong with it?
"What's with my hair?" I ask, but he shakes his head. "Nothing. I'm just trying something. It's nothing special."
Nick chuckles and punches Tyson in the side, then points at my hair. I cringe. Shit. "Dane, what are you doing?" I ask again, but he doesn't answer.
I plea Noah with my eyes. I found out that he's the softie, so he'll break down and tell me. But he just shrugs. "He's braiding your hair again. But with light blue elastics this time."
Dane glares at Noah. "Shut up, dude. Why are you so soft?" he snaps and Noah looks down at his plate. "Dane, chill. What is wrong with you?"
I stand up, shocked Dane can snap that grimly. I take Noah's hand and sit down with him on another table, leaving the boys alone. He seems surprised I do this, but he doesn't know me long enough, I guess.
"I'm sorry, Noah. You didn't deserve that," I say and he sighs. "He's right. I am soft." I shrug. "So? Girls like that."
He seems very uncomfortable with my comment. Huh? I meant it as a compliment. But before I can speak, he inhales deeply and looks in my eyes before he starts to speak.
"Willow, there's something I need to get off my chest. I haven't told the boys yet, and it's kinda very close to you and your family."
I swallow and nod, listening. What could he possibly mean by that?
"I'm gay. And kinda in love with... Jack."
He blurts it out and looks down after. I smile and take his hand in mine. The movements shocks him, I can see that in his gaze. "So what if you're gay? I don't mind. It's better than being in love with your best friend's girlfriend."
I give him a friendly wink and he chuckles softly. Then, he seems nervous again. "And the Jack part?" he asks. I shrug. "I don't care about the love interests from my brother. Has he been liking you too?"
He hesitates a moment. "Well, we're in the same class. Only my parents paid too late for this trip, so I'm with you guys. Not that I mind, by the way. And he always chooses me as partner for some project. And he always sits down next to me at the lunch table. But I don't really know if it's meant as friends or more."
He sighs. Poor baby. I smile reassuring at him. "I'm sure you'll find your love. Even if it isn't Jack. But I'm sure they guy you'll find will make you happy, because you deserve that."
He smiles, but panics when he sees the other boys coming our way. "Please don't tell them yet, Willow. I trust you," he begs. "I won't tell them. Take your time, and when you're ready, I'll be happy to help you."
I smile and he nods, relieved. Dane is the first one to approach us. He looks guilty. "Noah, I'm sorry man. You didn't deserve that. I was just kinda pissed you told her," he apologizes. Noah nods hesitantly.
"Yeah, okay. I'll try to not be so soft anymore." Dane lets out a short laugh. "Nah, man. I like that you're soft. It's cool," he shrugs. Noah's jaw drops, but he quickly recovers himself and smiles.
Dane looks at me. "I'm sorry, Willow. Forgive me?" He looks at me, hopeful. I smile and reach for him. "If you tell me what happened with my hair," I smirk and he chuckles.
"I braided it again. It's much nicer now, I tell you," he says and gives me a kiss. I look at the boys, who are snickering. "It's not nice, is it?" I sigh.
Dane cocks an eyebrow. "You don't believe me? You don't trust me? Ow, my heart," he says and dramatically falls on the floor. I roll my eyes and walk over to a mirror.
It's... okay... I mean, it could be better, but the light blue is cute. I smile and walk back.
"You're lucky it's done well," I say and he chuckles, kissing me again. "I like light blue. Do your nails in that color too."
I giggle. I know why he wants that...
