Well hello, have an unexpected chapter!

Sweet Desire
Chapter 2
"We're all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; just different Devils"
~~~~~
Adam finally managed to flatten his hair, he kept his sunglasses tucked neatly in his shirt and tugged only slightly at his clothes to make sure they were on right. Appearances were everything in the world of Kings and Queens, even if he was technically neither, he was close enough that it mattered.
He would probably skip breakfast today, he had check on the Duhitian troops with Mitch's General. Afterwards he and the General would go to another War Council meeting.
Adam left his room and traveled quickly down the long hallway. Adam found himself outside the castle where he spotted General Dune waiting.
"General Dune," Adam called.
General Dune bowed, "Prince Adam."
"I must apologize if I kept you waiting too long, we should be on our way now to the academy."
"No worries, I sent a messenger over, they know we are coming by now.
"Good." The two of them exited the castle grounds into the city. Since it was early morning only shopkeepers and other early folk were awake at this time. The sun was still slowly rising over the treetops, so most of the city was still in dark shadow. This created a cool atmosphere.
"There haven't been any more training injuries I assume?"
"No, I had men check over the equipment earlier in the week, everything is fine now."
"The injured from last month's battle are still healing fine, correct?"
"Yes, most of them are back on their feet now, only the rare few who were seriously injured remain bedridden. They likely will not be ready for the coming march to Emedo."
"I see, we'll just have to make due with what we have. Ty will be returning from Keuta with Cal soon, correct? Hopefully by then we'll have a few more supplies or even fighters. Our numbers are still too small, and even with great strategies it may be difficult against my fa--the King of Emedo."
"Actually, I have word they returned earlier. They should be waiting for us in the academy."
Adam held back his surprise, this happened quite often honestly, "I see, then I'll speak with them when we get there. You should make sure everyone is ready for the next few days while final preparations are made."
Adam and General Dune approached the large towering building complex near the castle that housed the majority of Duhitian soldiers. They walked inside and Adam saw both Ty and Cal waiting. He nodded to the both of them.
"Excuse me Prince Adam."
"No worries General, excuse me as well," the two of them split up to do their respective duties. Adam walked over to where Cal and Ty were.
"Good morning," Adam greeted.
"Good morning Adam," Cal answered. Ty remained silent.
"I'm glad to see that your travels have treated you both well, there is good news I hope?"
Cal frowned, "Unfortunately no. We have not been able to gain any more support, there is quite a bit of uproar and there are too many people still against helping to fight Emedo. Understandable since Emedo has been Keuta's longest ally and friend, even after 4 years many people regrettably won't help with even a smile."
"I see," Adam frowned, he looked up at Ty, "Did Alesa's letter to her people at least make it to Neim?"
Ty's appearance had changed since 4 years prior. 4 years ago Ty was a young man (tall) who was granted terrifying powers from the god his people called the Nyx. His long reddish brown hair had grown, but Ty kept it pulled back into a short ponytail, with only his bangs covering his left eye, his blind eye. After that mysterious woman came to Ty and took his powers away, Ty has been blind in his left eye since. Ty still wore the valta around his neck but had changed from his normal Vragan clothes to sport something looser for the heat he had to grow more accustomed too.
"Yes, but in terms of an answer, they will be sending that themselves."
"I see...we may not have that kind of time," Adam muttered, "Nonetheless, I should update the both of you on the current plan for the final battle."
Adam gestured for the two of them to follow him, it would be easier to explain all this when they were seated and not standing as they were currently.
Max and Jin spent their first day and a half or so apart. Which was fine with Max, he was just glad Jin wasn't trying to strangle him anymore.
Max, having nothing to do decided to practice using his sword. His fight with Jin had showed him he was utterly useless with it...Though he didn't know why he needed to practice. There was only one thing he desired in this world. And that was to continue being around all his friends.
Max wanted to return home as soon as possible. He wanted to be with his friends, he wanted to go home to Eflido, he wanted to meet his parents. He was done with everything else, he never wanted to deal with magic, with Alista, or with Gods. Max just wanted a peaceful life.
That was all he wished for. That was all he desired.
General Dune, Adam, Cal, and Ty were on their way to the castle. Actually Ty would be heading back to the rebel camp and not go with them to the castle, since his business was with them Unfortunately Adam missed his opportunity to try and create friendship with the Vragan, but he he did need to return and prepare for the meeting soon.
Cal would be joining Adam and General Dune at the War Council meeting.
Within the castle walls Call and General Dune spoke softly on their way to the War Council. Adam trailed behind them and left himself to his thoughts.
He had many doubts. He constantly asked himself if this was the way they should be doing things, or if this is how he should be doing things. He supposed it was too late to be having doubts, the war itself was almost over.
But Adam still wished they could've done this a different way.
He always wondered if maybe, just maybe he could've done more. Maybe he could've convinced his father, persuaded him.
But he could never tell anyone that is what he wanted to do, they would say he was foolish. All of them were convinced his father was beyond talking too, and maybe they were right, but the king was still his father. His blood. He liked to believe only he could save his father.
Another thing he thought about was what would happen after the war. Like before, Jordan would have to step in as king. He was the rightful heir after all. But what would the people think, Adam and Jordan were engaged in a war against their own home, against the people of their own home, would they just welcome the two of them home like nothing happened? Of course not.
Adam gritted his teeth, "Prince Adam, the meeting is about to begin, where is your brother?"
General Dune spoke up, it appeared that they were in the War Council room, and he didn't even realize it. Mitch was looking at him expectantly.
"S-sorry, Jordan told me to let you know that for the next few meeting he would not be able to attend. He returned to the rebel camp this morning to check up on them and make sure everything remains accurate for our strategies.
"I see, then we will continue without him," Mitch nodded and looked in Jerome's direction, "Jerome, if you will."
"Of course your highness. After much deliberation."
~~~~~
Adam lay awake once more in his bed. Their final strategy was pretty much finalized. Adam and Jordan would leave with the Ambush Squad ahead of time in a few days when Jordan returned with the final rebel data. Afterwards they would remain hidden on the outskirts of the Emedo capital until the signal was given by the main troops who would leave a day after him. The main troops would fight the brute of the battle while the Ambush Squad helped he and Jordan into the castle so that the two of them could force the king to surrender.
That was the general gist of it, and of course there were more details, but that was about it. The members of the Ambush Squad has also been decided.
Since Adam helped decide the members he knew who they were.
Of the people Adam knew personal to some level, there was Ian, and Tom. General Dune choose his son and two other soldiers to join. It wasn't a very large team, which is the point, it would be easier to stay hidden. Ian would be gathering potions from Wag so that he and Jordan could sneak into the castle.
Adam sighed deeply. The light from the moon shone through his window and he raised his arms above his head to let the light filter through his fingers.
"Notch I'm so tired."
He wished he was stronger, wished everything could go back to how they used to be. Back when he was just a general of his own army, back when he held parties behind Ian's back, back when he slept in, back when he was just someone. Back when Adam used to spar with Mitch for fun, back when Adam watched his own citizens smile with joy as he strolled through the city, back when his brother was still just a prince and lived with him, back when his mother was alive. Back when everything was as simple as a fantasy, back when he dreamed of being like the princes in fairy tales. The ones that were daring, dashing, and fearless. The ones who were strong, kind, and filled with justice. The ones people admired, trusted, and loved.
He remembered when he would sing the Emedian children's song about Aiden Azure everyday, he remembered how much he would sleep in his mother's embrace as she told him all the things he would do, all the people he would save, all the people he would protect, all the people he would meet.
Adam turned on his side, he felt a tightness in his stomach. Unfortunately, he felt like he was doing everything opposite of that.
If there was one thing he wished for more than anything, was that he wished to be that kind of guy, the one people looked up too.
~~~~~
Seto sighed, he snapped the book he was reading shut and pulled out his journal. His fingers danced as he used magic to bring to him his pen that he left on the bookshelf.
He was exhausted and needed to sleep soon. But he didn't want to sleep, he's been awake for 3 days straight trying to understand the words of this text. All the texts from the old world were so dense he hardly could fathom it actually existing. But after meeting Max and getting the chance to ask him a few questions since he was in the void at one point. He was able to get Max to tell him a thing or two about the tale he had heard.
None of which was important to him, since he already knew the story, but to know someone else learned it from a being far older than Notch or Herobrine or even the Nyx allowed him to put more faith in the idea this old world existed.
Seto began writing down some of the parts he did understand and some of his research. He hoped by the time he left this world he could use his new knowledge to help the realm.
Seto wished for one thing only, he wished to see what remained of his family, and all of his friends happy. He desired more than anything to see that come true, but with the way the world was now, that was not possible without a few changes.
This was an eh chapter... I've been writing the fight scene with the King, lol, idk if it is good yet, I will say it is painful....for Adam at least.
