Chapter One

Sweet Desire

Chapter 1

"We're all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; just different Devils"

~~~~~
Today is the 4th of the month of Azurren; his month people would say. That was because he was, and still is an Azure. He'd always been an Azure, that was his blood. It was in him.
Aiden Azure, the first of the Azures to be recorded in history. Nearly a thousand years ago, was when Emedo was established due to the brilliant leadership of that Azure. He was regarded as a hero of sorts to the homeless refuges of the war that tore through the 5 original kingdoms. And thus became Emedo's first king.
When Adam was younger he felt that whenever he was in trouble he could always rely on his ancestor, that was what his mother told him of course. When she was still alive.
Together the two of them would sing the old children's song that honored his great ancestor and Adam would sleep peacefully in his mother's embrace.
Now Adam wonder if he prayed or even singed for that matter would he get an answer? Probably not, each time he did he felt even more at a loss, like what he was doing was actually wrong. That Adam had abandoned Emedo, his birthplace, his home. But that wasn't true, he intended fully to return once the war was over and to dispel any confusions as to his whereabouts.
However it was the end of the war that Adam feared.
He sighed and rolled over onto his side, gazing out of the window into the star-filled sky from his bed.
It was only a matter of time before the end of the war occurred, only a matter of time he and Jordan would infiltrate the castle and stop their father. But could he was the question. He had so many other things he wanted to ask his father, nothing made sense anymore, how was he supposed to cope with the outcome if he couldn't get any answers?
4 years ago while Adam laid detained in the rebel "hospital" tent with one annoyed Ty and a broken arm. He remembered lying there one day, staring off into space wondering where Seto had gone, cursing himself for not being able to help, and almost crying for his failures as a prince and a human being.
But Jordan came to visit one day.
"Adam, are you awake?" Adam groaned and saw Jordan walk into the tent. Followed by Alesa, and Travis.
"No."
Jordan chuckled, "While most people still want to keep you detained, even worse, for now we have come to a compromise. Until further notice you will be detained, but nothing more."
"That's good I suppose, guess I'm not dying anytime soon then..." Adam looked away, "Any news about Seto?"
"None so far," Travis spoke up, "Ever since Tyler returned we've sent a couple people to the portal he described, and just like he said. The portal has been damaged, and it won't be easily fixed."
"I see."
"Adam, should you really be worrying about that? Look at you, you're letting your own health slip away in a medical tent! Do you not see the irony?" Alesa said.
Jordan held up a hand to both his companions and took a step closer to Adam before sitting on the floor beside Adam's bed. Adam glanced at Jordan who look up at the top of the tent and with eyes closed removed his sunglasses. Adam had never seen him do that before.
"Tell me Adam, if you could see your brother again would you?"
"Of course I would! I never got to apologize to him!"
"Apologize, what for?"
"For...for breaking our promise. Before he left for the army he told me to wait for him. And that after we would go on an adventure. You know, no you wouldn't know," Adam sat back almost sadly laughing, "I think that was the first promise I'd ever made to anyone, and I broke it."
Jordan stood up, "What nonsense or you going on about!" Jordan looked angry at Adam and Adam noticed the familiar blue eyes before arms wrapped around Adam's body.
"Wha--"
"I should be the one to apologize for breaking my promise to you!"
And just like that Adam discovered his beloved, dead brother was anything but dead. Adam was at a loss of words for a long while as they both hugged and suddenly Adam felt tears down his face.
And now 4 years later the two brothers were supposed to apprehend their father. What sort of twisted fate was this? And then what? Jordan would have to be king obviously.
Surprisingly, with all this in his head he was calm, much calmer than he thought he would be. He didn't think he was ready to face his father, but knowing it was coming seemed to make him more ready.
He doubted that made much sense.
Tomorrow is a new day he supposed. More of this and more of that. More arguing on what the best course of action should be and more questions on what he should even be doing.
He wondered how Seto was faring in the nether, if running off into some foreign world was really the only option he felt he was faced. And was it really worth it? Four years of solitude is quite a long time.
~~~~~

Two bodies slammed through a door, one of them slid until their back slammed against a solid object. That man felt dizzy, everything around him was red and hot and he realized his sword was out of reach.

"What the nether did you do!" Another man screamed and dragged himself to the first. He placed his hands around the first man's neck. The first man thought to himself, all those explosions, the pain was getting to him, he wouldn't be able to fight back this time. Fingers tightened around the first man's neck, he couldn't fight back. The first man, a redhead, couldn't stop the second man, blonde haired with black streaks. He wasn't able to--

The redhead's eyes widened as the hands around his neck loosened and left all together. He felt a force lift him to his feet, and saw the blonde had the same thing happen to him. The redhead hardly believed what was happening, his eyes fell upon a figure sitting behind a desk. The desk being the solid surface the redhead's back slammed against.

"I'd appreciate it if you kept your voices down. I'd like to continue reading my book, thank you."

The magical force kept the two in the air for several more moments before letting them down and releasing them. The redhead stumbled but kept his eyes on the man before him. A pale skinned man with violet eyes sat in the chair reading a book and not once glancing up at him or Jin.

"Wh-who a--"

"Why you, I could kill you for that!"

"I'd like to see you try," the man retorted to Jin, "Max was it?"

"H-huh?" How did he know his name.

"To answer your question, my name is Seto Magi. To answer how I knew your name and if I was reading your mind, well that's because I was expecting you, and no I didn't read your mind. We've crossed paths before, though never actually met face to face." Seto flipped to the next page in his book. Jin gritted his teeth and clenched the edge of the desk with his hands until the surface began to turn black.

Seto dog eared the page he was on and sighed, he placed the book down on the desk and pushed back his chair, "You must all have questions--"

"Why did you stop me!"

"You would be making a mistake." Seto walked around the table and Max moved aside to let the shorter man through, "Max put away your sword and the both of you follow me."

Seto exited the room and took a right down a long stretching hallway. Max, the redhead, glanced over at Jin in an unsure manner. But he was met only with glares. Max decided to follow Seto and he hurried by, only stopping to pick up his sword. He wasn't sure how to make it disappear, but he didn't feel comfortable with Jin the way he was, so he'll keep the sword around for now.

"What is this place? Is it the nether?"

"Yes," Seto answered, "It's a part of the nether. The portal you fell through is a direct link to this fortress, and before you ask who it belongs to, it belongs to Herobrine."

"Hero...brine?" Max muttered, he glanced behind him to see Jin trudging behind.

"I should mention, there are certain areas of this fortress you shouldn't go to, only because this is someone else's home, you should go only to places I go."

Seto entered a room and waited for Max and Jin to arrive. The room had but one bed and chest. When Max and Jin arrived Seto opened the chest and pulled out a journal.

Max and Jin looked in interest as Seto flipped to a certain page.

"The both of you have curses on you, or well Max, you had a curse. But it has been lifted. I am not talking about the Wither's curse, I'm talking about the Void curses."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Jin narrowed his eyes.

"Most people who into the void should die, but the two of you lived. But upon exiting the void, the two of you had certain curses or side effects placed on you. Max, your memories were erased, and you..." Seto looked at Jin, "Your existence was erased. Hence why no one who should know you, remembers you."

"What?" Jin hissed, "Lies, I've been lied to. I don't believe you--"

Seto sighed and smiled sheepishly, "Look, in less than a month or so, a portal will open. This portal will be our only way back home into the overworld, I know this because I can see the future, and Jin, in your future I don't see hate or anger for that matter. The curse that has erased your existence will be lifted and it will be lifted the only way possible. Someone knows your name, someone who you haven't told your name to since leaving the void, knows it, and they will tell you exactly what your name is."

Seto sighed again, he closed his journal, "The two of you need to get along, no one is dying here, it would be rude to our host who is letting us stay on this side of the fortress." Seto started to leave Max and Jin, but paused to say one last thing, "We have about one month, so make yourselves comfortable and travel only along this hallway."

With that, Seto left leaving Max and Jin alone.

"Someone will know my name that I haven't told it to, bah! If my existence was erased like he said, then that would be impossible!" Jin grumbled, he turned and glared at Max, "You, it's your fault. You lied, you lied."

Before Max could say a word Jin left the room leaving only Max now.

Max sighed, he knew Jin's name, and he was sure Jin hadn't told him since leaving the void like him. But why was he able to remember, but no one else could? Why did he remember all the times Jin, Ross, Red, Barney, and him spent as a child before Jin mysteriously vanished for 10 years before coming back like him with mysterious powers. Why did no one else remember when he remembered that they did?

If Jin's existence was erased from the world and everyone's memories, then what allowed him to remember after he regained his memories?

~~~~~
It was morning in the Duhitian palace, Adam was awake, dressed, and ready. A knock came at his door and he answered, "Yes?"
"Adam, may I have a quick word?"
Adam recognized the sound of his brother's voice, "Sure thing, come in."
The door clicked and was pushed open to allow Jordan to walk in. Adam was merely fixing his hair to be smoothed and less unruly. He had to keep up appearances. He did miss wearing a ponytail though, it was far less maintenance than what he was doing now.
"Is something wrong?" Adam asked.
"Oh no, nothing like that, I couldn't find King Mitchell so I came to you. Can you deliver a message from me to him?"
"Do you even need to ask?" Adam chuckled, "Of course I will you idiot."
Jordan smiled, "Thank you. Just tell the King when you see him that I won't be attending any War Council meetings for the next few days. I need to head back to the Rebel camp to make sure everything is sound over there."
Adam snorted, "You worried that Tom, Tucker, and Sonja can't handle things over there?"
"N-no, not that...uhm, I just figured it isn't good to leave the camp for too long. I need to make sure I remain up to date on all that goes on so that our attack remains accurate. I can't do that if my information on my own men isn't accurate. And besides, I'm sure Lady Alesa can keep those three in check even if they were messing around."
Adam snorted more then cursed as a part of his hair that he tried to keep down continued to spring back up. Ignoring that he added, "Yeah, Alesa's pretty head strong and determined in making sure everyone is well....Oh, Jordan, I have a small favor since you are heading in that direction, I'm assuming today."
"Yes, I leave today, what is it?"
"Check up on Tyler, will you? You know how it has been...since Seto vanished..."
"Yes...I do..."Jordan sighed, "I'll do my best to check up on him, it is a little out of the way since he moved out of the rebel camp and into the forests alone. But I'll make sure he's doing alright."
Adam smiled, "Thank you, I know he doesn't want much to do with me, or Mitch or well most of us. He's still pretty mad about 2 years ago...when we...when we had to postpone all methods of bringing Seto home to focus on the war."
Adam stopped trying to smooth his hair and looked down, he felt guilty about that. But they had tried everything. Gathering the obsidian to fix the hole in the portal was tricky enough, but lighting it once it was done was easy. The only problem was that when it was lit, Mitch said that where it lead was not the same place it lead before.
Afterwards they had even tried to get Wag's advice, but he said the only thing he could think of was that the portal was forcibly connected to a specific location in the nether, a location that wasn't where the portal would open up to if activated regularly.
After that they tried to figure out how they could find the location of the fortress, but it was bad news from the start. Plenty of people were injured and had died in that Notch-forsaken place. Eventually Mitch had to call off all work on finding Seto, for the sake of the war that was going on, and the lives of people. It wasn't right to sacrifice people's lives for a man they didn't know, not while a bigger threat was occurring.
"Don't worry Adam I'll check up on him."
"Thank you," Adam smiled and turned to face Jordan.
Jordan held back a snicker and pointed at Adam's hair.
"H-hey! Shut up! You know these dumb hair products hate me! I can never get them to work right, my hair is just too curly!"
"Like mother's," Jordan managed to choke out.
Adam stuck out his tongue and turned back around to finish his hair, "Also, tell Ian to write that letter to his sister. I'm sure he keeps putting it off because the dumb dork keeps saying that he's too busy. Even if you have to slap him, make sure he writes that letter."
"I will, and don't forg--"
"To tell Mitch you won't be attending the next few meetings, I know," Adam waved.
"And?"
"And....uh....what else did you tell me?"
"It's what I told you yesterday."
"Oh! I remember right! How the nether do I go about doing that again? Ty isn't due for a return for several days you know."
"Yes I know Adam, I'm just saying, when he does. Try your best to make peace with him--"
"I know that, he just doesn't like me..."
"Just do it. Anyways I'm off. Don't spend too long on that hair of yours!"
Adam heard the door to his room close shut and he furrowed his brows in concentration as he tried to keep his hair flat.
There was much going on and so much to do.
~~~~~

Was this a good chapter? Hopefully not too boring. I'll probably have some time skiping involved so we can get to the good stuff. You know the death of the Emedo king and what not. I also made some slight unnoticible changes to some things, a new character will be introduced after the war. A youtube character who I feel will be very needed in the times ahead.

 Anyone recognize the Destiny Calls scene?

I remember in Destiny Calls everyone guessed it was Herobrine that spoke >:) no one could've have even fathomed until the end of Grasping Fate that it was actually Seto! :D Muhahahaha

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed, any theories bubbling yet?
