It is finally time to bid adieu to this tale, I have procrastinated long enough in writing this out for it would mean that this story is done, in all respects.

This is my first novella I have ever written, the characters are from the popular TV serial - SwaRagini, telecast on the Colours Channel. I have not made any changes from the version I posted in India Forums, bar that a few minor grammatical corrections. I was apprehensive, and still am, about posting this story though the lovely feedback has left me feeling thrilled and happy.

When I first started this story, as mentioned in the Preface, I was sure it would be a slow gentle love story, with no startling twists or tragic events. I was also determined not to have any of my characters as outright evil; flawed, definitely yes, but not that 'I-will-kill-to-have-my-way' types. That meant a complete departure from the serial portrayal of one of the main female leads, Ragini. This was a difficult decision, for as the story progressed, it was her voice that grew stronger and there were times when I felt uneasy, for I knew that most of the readers, who are used to seeing and writing her as an evil minded, selfish person, might not accept this version. There was no denying the fact that despite Swara and Sanskaar being the protagonists of this tale, at most points, Ragini became the main character. However hard I tried, I could not subdue Ragini and in the end, this story is hers as much as it is about Swara and Sanskaar.

But what surprised me, still does, and leaves me elated, is the universal acceptance of Ragini; for me that is a greater compliment than any other that I received for this story. It gives me the courage to continue to listen to what my story demands rather than give in to what I want to write. And for this, I owe you, my readers.

I thank all the invisible readers who opened this book and hopefully read and enjoyed it. To all the silent readers who left a vote as appreciation. And to all the wonderful voluble readers, who took time to read and leave comments, some small, some lengthy and some detailed, but each one is cherished. I have not been able to thank each one of you individually, but every word is appreciated and cherished. Thank you.

love,

Nyna
