Extreme Aggressor - V

Continuation of Extreme Aggressor - IV

Derek Morgan never felt so relieved than when he saw Spencer Reid and Annabel Lee trail behind Hotch into the crowded police office, Annabel holding a to-go cup with what Derek assumed was coffee, knowing fully well that she didn't drink while on a case and Spencer clutching his jacket in his hands.

Neither seemed annoyed which was a good sign and Hotch didn't have his I'm going to kill these two geniuses frown on which was also a good sign.

"What did you find out?" Gideon questioned as soon as the trio entered a separate room next to the general office, "Our victim was in the market for a pretty sweet car, the time-delayed virus might have been a picture of the car which the victim hid in the background." Annabel told the other two team members, plopping down on a seat on one side of the table.

Spencer narrowly sat on the other side, staying as far away from her as he could, "The UnSub probably offered the victim a test ride and that's how he got her." Hotch added, "Okay so that gives us a how he kidnapped her but it doesn't give us a reason." Derek countered.

Hotch took a seat next to Annabel and opened all the files, displaying them across the large table, "There is nothing that links the victims together except their closeness in age, we know that." Annabel reminded, taking a long sip of her warm beverage.

Spencer began to spin in his chair, looking like a proper child while Gideon kept looking at the boards. "Okay, then how about the fact that on one hand, we have paranoid psychosis... But the autopsy protocol says what?" Derek began, pacing from one side of the room to the other, "Adhesive reside shows he put layer after layer of duct tape over his victims' eyes." Spencer replied.

"He knows he wants to kill them, but he still covers their eyes. He doesn't want 'em looking at him, apparently." He turned to the other two members on the other side of the table, "But then he takes the body and dumps it right out in the open, murder weapon nearby." his voice sounded exasperated and annoyed, which was understandable, at least in their eyes.

"Not the M.O. of a paranoid convinced he's being watched or surveilled." Spencer told the group, still spinning around while he spoke, "Paranoid psychosis, but behavior that's not paranoid." Derek added with a sigh.

"What if he does that on purpose?" Annabel told the team, "What if he dumps them out in the open and leaves the murder weapon on purpose because he's that paranoid, because he's paranoid that if he does it near where he lives someone will recognize them but leaving them in the middle of open and populated areas gives him a certain sense of anonymity? That would back up the M.O. of paranoid psychosis"

The team looked at her and thought about it, Spencer pursed his lips for a moment as he finally stopped his spinning, "Honestly I don't know which is worse." Hotch muttered quietly as he threw a file back onto the table.

There was a couple more moments of silence before Gideon startled them all by declaring "All right, Hotch tell them we're ready." his words made Derek look at him with wide eyes trying to comprehend what he meant by those words, even though he knew exactly what they meant, watching as he walked out of the room.

"We're ready? Reid. You're good with this?" the dark-skinned man questioned baffled, turning to one of the young geniuses, while the other one took one more sip out of her cup, her last sip, "We've got a woman who's only got a few hours left to live, an incomplete profile, and a unit chief on the verge of a nervous breakdown."

Gideon walked back into the room while he was speaking and countered "They don't call them nervous breakdowns anymore." grabbing a cable from the desk and walking back out, "It's called a major depressive episode." Spencer reminded, not at all helping Derek's mood.

"I know, Reid." Morgan sighed.
