Extreme Aggressor - III
Continuation of Extreme Aggressor - II
Sooner rather later the group arrived at the police station, Annabel walked with Hotch, having spent the ride from the airport to the station sitting next to Spencer, her mouth was shut knowing how much Hotch hated hearing her or Spencer complain about the other, while Derek, Penelope Garcia and JJ just listened to them and constantly told them to get over their problems and just grow up out of their petty phase.
"You're quiet." Hotch commented as the two stood at the front desk waiting for the confirmation that they were cleared to enter, "I know you don't like listening to me complain about Boy Gen- I mean Reid." Annabel replied, correcting herself when she remembered that they weren't in the office. Hotch cracked a teeny tiny smile at her correction and turned back to the secretary, who gave them the all-clear.
"Have you and Haley decided on the name for the baby?" Annabel decided to question, changing the subject, her brown eyes shifting to his face, watching as a full loving smile broke onto his usually stoic face, "We're going over them." he replied, "Well you can always name the kid Luke and the next one Leia" Annabel teased, "Don't tell Haley that, she might actually follow through with that." Hotch told her, his eyes staring back at her.
"It's not a bad name sir." Annabel laughed, shaking her head slightly as his eyes narrowed just so slightly. The two stepped away from the front desk and began to follow behind Spender and Morgan, who were, unfortunately, walking at a slow pace, much to both profilers' taste.
"He never stands with his back to a window. When I was between him and a doorway, he asked me to move." Morgan commented, looking at Gideon who was speed walking towards the office, not really caring if their clearance had been processed or not, "That's hypervigilance. It's not uncommon in post-traumatic stress disorder." Spencer replied without missing a beat, stopping to turn to his colleague, forcing his other two team members to stop as well.
Hotch looked at them like he was ready to murder them for stopping and losing precious time while Annabel merely rolled her eyes and pushed through the both of them, not wanting to deal with either of them at the moment. Her feet carried her to the crowded office, catching up with Gideon easily, neither of them talked, Gideon, preferring to focus on the case at hand while Annabel knew better than to blabber around Gideon, especially when he was in a mood.
Once all of them were in the room filled with hardworking agents Hotch began to introduce the team "This is special agent Gideon, special agent Morgan, our expert on obsessional crimes, special agent Reid..." "Dr. Reid." Gideon corrected the second he introduced Spencer prompting Hotch to correct himself "Dr. Reid, and Dr. Lee our experts on... Well, everything." adding the correction to his introduction of Annabel before Gideon interrupted as well.
"And after 2 years busting my butt in this office, I hope you all remember me." Everyone laughed at Hotch's small joke, including Annabel who cracked a small smile, "He's willing to travel with the body." Gideon claims expertly, looking at the boards around the front of the room, "Then he drives a vehicle capable of concealing one."
"1 in 7.4 drivers in Seattle owns an SUV." Spencer told as he too looked at the boards that were in display, "Explorer with tinted windows." Morgan offered, buttoning his blazer, "Explorers rate higher with women, you should know that Derek, I own one." Annabel countered, looking over the new stuff that they didn't previously have.
"Trust me princess, I know your car. But how do we know it's his car? Ted Bundy drove a VW Bug." Morgan replied, winking at Annabel who smiled back at him teasingly, "What about a Jeep Cherokee?" Hotch questioned from where he stood, "Jeep's are more masculine. We all know how an unsub feels about asserting his masculinity." Gideon replied, turning around to look at his partner.
"When did the bureau become involved in the case?" Hotch questioned, even though they already knew the answer from going over the files in the jet. "After the fourth body. He dumped that one out of state." one of the local officers replied, his face looking rather grim at his own answer.
"On purpose." Hotch assumed, "If so, knowledge of law enforcement does suggest a criminal record." Reid told the group, "Or that he watches television." Morgan chuckled, "Or that he works in law enforcement, not necessarily a cop." Annabel concluded, looking at the pictures herself, hoping to see something that the cops might've missed, Derek asked for the file that one of the officers was holding, wasting no time in opening it as soon as it was in his hands.
"So you wanna see our suspect list?" the officer questioned, starting to get hopeful about the case, "No, we won't look at a suspect list until after we come up with a profile." Hotch replied, shaking his head and looking at the man in question, "It keeps our perspective unbiased." The man nodded and Spencer reached for the board that Annabel was watching, causing her to make a disgusted face and scoot away from him.
An action that only fueled him to do it again, this time purposely brushing his arm with her, causing her to let out the tiniest thinnest disgusted squeak he could ever imagine, one that had him smirking slightly while she attempted to wipe his touch from her blouse, making sure it looked like she was merely scratching her arm.
"I have to burn this shirt now." she commented as lowly as she could, although just lightly enough for the boy genius next to her to hear before she stepped away from him and moved to the other side of Morgan, using him as a barrier, never losing her composure as to not allert the strangers to her dislike of the other dr.
"When do we sit down with your task force?" Gideon questioned, his face demonstrating that his brain was already coming up with a profile, "4:00." the officer next to him replied, making Derek look up from the file and chuckle unamusedly "An accurate profile by 4:00 today?"
"We've worked with less than that Derek." Annabel told him, placing a calming hand on his arm, something that he smiled at, knowing that she was trying to keep his annoyance in check. "That's not a problem." Gideon replied, walking across the front of the room, in front of everyone to the board that contained information about the latest victim.
"Jason, where would you like to start?" Hotch questioned, a quiet offer with the subliminal order, so well disguised that no one but the team knew it was an order, but still baffling how he could display such different orders and emotions at the same time. "Let's start at the site of the last murder." Gideon replied, pointing his finger at the picture.
