~Monday~

"Why did Paul Lahote tell people you two were an item when you weren't?" Johnny asks me when I sit down for Biology.

"Beats me" shaking my head as I pull out my notebook.

"Hello" jumping at the voice, I see Edward Cullen before us "we didn't get a chance to be introduced, I'm Edward Cullen"

"Hela" I say

He tilts his head "After the Norse goddess?" Nodding my head. We soon see Bella come in with Mike and Eric, they both want to be Bella's boyfriend but she isn't interested. When she sees Edward, he looks her way and she seems determined about something. "Hello" Edward soon says to Bella seeming stiffer than when he was talking to me, Bella looks at him "I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to introduce myself two weeks ago. I'm Edward Cullen, your Bella"

Nodding her head "Yes"

"Onion root cells" Mr. Molina tells us "that is what is on your slate right now. So separate and label the phases of mitosis and the first partners to get it right will win the golden onion" everyone boos but Johnny, Edward, Bella and I.

"Mind if I" I ask, Johnny waves his hand and I look at each of the phases before writing it down.

"Mind if I check?" Johnny asks, waving my hand he checks before nodding his head. Raising his hand, Mr. Molina comes in "we're done"

"Did you both look?" He asks, we nod our heads and he checks before announcing "and we have our winners!"

"You were gone" Bella says to Edward

"He was gone?" I ask Johnny

He nods his head "I" Edward looks at me "was gone for a week, you didn't notice?" I think about it before shrugging my shoulders "I was out of town for a couple of days for personal reasons. Are you girls enjoying the rain?"

I notice Johnny look up from his sketches to look at Edward, I'm guessing Edward talking to us is a first "your asks my me about the weather?" Bella asks amused

"I believe" Johnny interjects as I pull out my book "Edward asked both you and Helena"

She grinds her jaw "I was" Edward confirms "asking you and Helena"

"I don't really like the rain" Bella says, shaking her head "or any cold wet thing"

"And you?" Edward asks me

"Unlike Bella" I say "I don't mind the rain or cold"

"Hela?" Johnny looks at me "um...would you maybe, do you want to...go on a date?"

"Really?" I ask, he nods his head "yeah" unlike with Paul, I feel more interested in Johnny "maybe tomorrow at seven?"

"Movie?" He asks "the movie Fast and Furious?" Nodding my head, he smirks "I'll pick you up around five, get some dinner before the movie?"

"Yeah" nodding my head

~After Class~

"See you sometime" Johnny says before leaving, smiling to myself I grab the golden onion and leave.

"Helena" stopping to jump startled seeing Edward and Bella here, Bella looks at me annoyed while Edward interested. Why? "Hi, want to talk with Bella and I to your locker?" Shrugging my shoulders, we soon walk in silence before Edward asks "why not move in with your mom and Phil?"

"Well...Phil is a minor league baseball player" Bella says "and uh, he travels a lot" getting to our locker, I open mine and put my things away as Bella talks "so our mom stayed at home and we knew it made her unhappy so...uh...figured we'd stay with our dad for a while"

"And now your unhappy?" Edward asks

"No" Bella shakes her head as I grab my jacket

"What about you Helena?" Edward asks

"It's Hela"'correcting him "and at first I was unhappy, now not so much. Why do you care?"

"I'm sorry" shaking his head as Bella glared at me, what? I'm curious as to why he stayed behind to talk to me and why he's curious about us "I'm just trying to figure you both out, your both very hard to read"

"Did you get contacts?" Bella asks

"It's a genetic condition" I tell Bella, I asked Dr. Cullen and he told me that it's what brought him and Mrs. Cullen together. Their rare eyesight, so none of them are related but the children by the three dark hairs and the two blondes "he and his family have"

"Your eyes were black" Bella says "the last time I saw you...now their uh, golden brown"

"It's like your sister said" Edward says "it's a genetic thing, my siblings and I have it as well as our aunt. Carlisle, his niece and nephew also have the golden brown eye condition genetics" did that make any sense?

I leave the two awkward love birds to Bella's truck, I needed to have my car get the first oil change today so I rode with Bella. "Why doesn't Edward like me?" Bella asks, I text one of my old friends from Phoenix when Bella snaps lowly "Helena! I'm asking you a question"

"You were?" Not looking at her "normally you vent and say random shit to me"

Huffing a breath she throws her things in the back of the truck "Just get in" she moves to go into the truck, just as I put my phone away I hear this blaring of a horn. Looking over, my eyes widen seeing Tyler's van skidding this way. I push Bella out of the way just as a cold hand pushes me down.

Looking up, I see Edward Cullen above me and his hand pushes the van away. My heart pounds loudly in my chest at how he pushes the van and his eyes are pitch black, looking over I see Bella on the ground with blood coming down her head.

Edward gets up, I move away to get up as people come over towards us. Shaking my head I try to process what happened, what I know is that people are by my side and that an ambulance arrives for me, Tyler and Bella.

Once we are in the ER, Bella and Tyler are being looked over "Bella, Hela" Tyler says "I'm really sorry"

"Black ice" I answer trying to think of why I just saw, maybe I hit my head? "Can't do much about it"

Just then the doors open and in comes Charlie, he looks at us relieved "Bella! Hela! Are you both alright?" Coming towards us he looks at Tyler pointing "you and I are going to talk" looking at us "are you both alright?"

Nodding my head as Bella says "I'm fine dad, calm down" she might be ready to call him dad but I'm not.

"I'm sorry girls" Tyler says "I tried to stop"

I zone everyone out, crossing my legs on the bed "Hela?" Blinking, I see Carlisle before me.

"Hi, Dr. Cullen" I say

He flashed his light pen in my eyes "You seem alright, no head wounds" offering me a smile "you'll be just fine"

"It would have been a lot worse if Edward wasn't there" Bella said

"Edward?" Charlie asks "your boy?"

"Can I" I ask Dr. Cullen "leave? If I'm all good?"

"Your dad needs to sign some papers" he says, I look at Charlie who nods his head "I'll sign the papers" Getting off the bed, I go to call mom since my phone is blowing up with texts.

I see Edward Cullen talking harshly with Bella, I warily walk over and the two look over "Can I have a moment with Edward?" I ask Bella

Shaking her head "Not until he tells me how he saved you"

"Thank you" looking at Edward, he looks at me with his golden eyes "for saving my life" He nods his head, I leave them then going to the lobby where my friends are.

"How are you?" Lauren asks

"I'm fine" assuring them "I was lucky, Bella and I were really lucky"
