Grateful
One day, a man was getting ready to leave for his important business meeting, and if everything went well, he'd end up with billions thrown into his account. He got out of his house only to realize the carriage was supposed to take him to the big building where the meeting would be held was long gone. He had no idea what to do so he went to his master to seek help.
He made it to the young man's house only to find him meditating, so he decided to sit on the couch and wait till he was done. "What brings you here, oh sweet child of God?" The young man opened his blue eyes, and for a moment, his disciple thought he was Jesus.
"Oh, master. The carriage left me before I could get on board and I have missed a very important meeting. What do I do?" His disciple took position opposite his master, and now they were both facing each other, sitting on the floor.
"I don't know. But what I do know is you should be grateful." The man spoke as he closed his eyes once again, taking slow breaths and calming his mind yet again. "Grateful!? This would've resulted in millions and billions if all went well. And you're telling me to be grateful that I missed the most important deal of my lifetime!?"
The disciple was beyond livid, and he had nothing else to do or say than to just storm out of his master's house. 'This guy has probably gone coo-coo, loco, insane! Meditating too much was never good for anyone. I'll leave the man alone for some time so he can clear his head and gain his senses.'

.
Later that evening, the man was sitting in front of one of the newest television sets there could've been at that time, watching the news. However, the town he had just moved to was poor. Due to rising wars where he grew up, in the far East, he had to move and go to a safer, low-key location. So he was among the first people to ever present a television set in his household in this town.
He was surprised to see that one of the headlines was showing that the carriage that had left this morning at 7:00 am had an accident, and everyone in it, including the coach, had lost their lives. Even the horses weren't spared! The video image began to play and the accident was horrific. Just the thought that he could've died in such a way was unimaginable.
He finally began to understand, his master was right.
The man rushed over to his master's house, getting there only to kneel down and beg for forgiveness. "I'm sorry I ever said that, master. I should've known better. I should've comprehended that what you said was indeed very wise, and I should've understood what you meant. I'm so sorry, my master, could you ever forgive me?"
"You mustn't apologize for anything, oh sweet child of God. You must only be grateful, understanding, and open-minded. Of course, it is not upon us on everything that happens on this Earth. That is the All Mighty's duty. Ours is to do the best we can to please our God, while we also do our best to live our lives the way we plan to. Everything that happens in this world is all part of God's plan. If it was his will, you wouldn't be here talking to me at this very moment. That's why we say Alhamdullilah for both the good and the bad things that happen to us. No one is the perfect human being, but we can always try by reading the stories that God wrote in his book. Shall we?"
And for the rest of the evening, they sat on the floor as the young man taught his disciple the scriptures in the holy book of God, and when he left his master's house, he went home with happiness in his heart, and the thought that God didn't give him the billions of money he wanted, but another chance to live, which he desperately needed.
