Luca is my absolute favorite character in this show i stg.

SWAT hires a technical analyst who is very much not what any of them were expecting, and happens to catch a certain blond team members eye.

THIRD PERSON POV

"So, I heard that new guys coming in today, the technical analyst or whatever." Tan says in the locker room." "Yeah, apparently they want someone who can be in charge of the nerd squad." Street says, receiving an elbow in the gut from Chris. "Ow..." He groans.

"Well, whoever it is, apparently he's super smart, has busted some serious bad guys with the Feds, and young, too." They all look at Deacon when he finishes. He looks up and shrugs. "What?"

"How'd you know all that?" Luca says indignantly. "I was talking to Cortez earlier." He responds. "Name?" "TJ Andrews" 

They all make their way to the boxing ring where they see Commander Hicks talking to a woman who looked a bit out of place. Dark hair in a messy high ponytail, short black sleeve shirt showing off two full sleeve tattoos. Black jeans, boots. She turned and smiled at them.

Commander Hicks beckoned them over. "Everyone, This is Talia Andrews, our newest technical analyst."

FLASHBACK TO TJS POV
I can't help it, I cross my fingers as I walk in. I've always wanted to work with the LAPD, ever since I was a kid and now is my chance to finally make that happen.

I walk in and see Commander Hicks, he beckons me over.

"Dr. Andrews. It's good to see you again." I smile at him. I can feel the stares and hear the whispers around me.

"I'll show you where you'll be working and introduce you to your team in a bit, but feel free to take a look around and get acclimated. We're glad you're here."

I smile and shake his hand. I see him look over my shoulder and wave someone over. I turn around and see the surprised faces of 6 SWAT officers.

"Everyone, This is Talia Andrews, our new technical analyst."

I grin and reach out my hand. The woman stepped forward and shook my hand. "Chris Alonso. It's nice to meet you, Talia."

I nod. "It's nice to see some estrogen in the building." She chuckles.

I shake everyone's hand. The blond one, Luca he says his name is, is last. He's gorgeous and it's all I can do to keep from blushing. "I can't wait to work with all of you."

He winks at me as I turn away and I feel heat in my cheeks.

Shit. I really am blushing.

Commander Hicks smiles at me and pats me on the back. "Dr. Andrews will be our official technical analyst and coordinator, in charge of the technological side of this job. She'll be a great asset."

"Doctor?" The older one, Deacon I think, asks. I smile. "I have 2 PhDs, one in criminology and the other in information technology."

They each display a different reaction, a mix of awe, dumbfounded and admiration. I glance over at Luca and hes grinning at me. I wink and turn back to Hicks. 

"I believe you said  you were going to show me my station?" He nods and we walk away. I feel a fluttering in my chest.

TIME SKIP

Well, It went 0 to 60 pretty quick after that. Ended up getting involved in a bank robbery gone bad, but I did my part and everyone got out safely. 

I see them walk in to cheers and I try to hang back but Luca ends up pulling me into the crowd of people. "Don't forget about our new genius here, totally saved our asses with that whole cutting the cameras and using their own gadgets against them."

I blush and I get a couple pats on the back. 

Someone says something about drinks, and Chris looks over at me. "You coming?" She asks.

I nod. "Its friday and i don't have plans." I see Luca out of the corner of my eye perk up a bit at that and the fluttering gets a little bigger.

Chris ends up swinging by to pick me up. Shes already becoming a super close friend. I spent way too long looking through my closet to find something suitable to wear out, ended up on a sleeveless black dress with black high heeled boots. She wolf whistles as i walk out and I laugh. 

"Thanks." She grins and we walk out to her car. "You're gonna take Luca's breath away." I blush hard and look away. "I literally just met him, there's no way he is into me." 

She chuckles as we pull up. "I wouldn't be so sure of that."

We walk in and I can't help but notice Luca's eyes go wide and then turn away as we walk up. Street also wolf whistles as i walk up and i blush again. "Yall need to stop." 

Everyone laughs and I order my first drink. As the night goes on, the team slowly splits up until its just me and Luca at the table. 

He smiles at me "I didnt get a chance to say it earlier, but you really do look great." I smile. "Thank you." He gestures to my tattoos. "I love your art, they are really well done." I subconsciously rub my arm. "Thanks. Ive always wondered in the back of my head if they would make my professional life more difficult. But Ive learned that I have a chance to change the stereotypes around tattoos in the work force."

He nodded. "Thats impressive." We talk and talk for what feels like hours. As it turns out, we have a lot in common. As the night goes on, we scoot closer and closer together. 

At one point we look up and everyones either left or gone home with someone. He turns to me. "Hey, do you need me to take you home?" I blush a little and nod.

He pulls up in my apartment and parks, looking over at me. "So...Did you have a good night?" He says kinda awkwardly and I smile. "It was awesome, and it made me excited to work with you guys." He blushes slightly. 

"Hey Luca?" I say softly. "yeah?" He says. "Do you want to come inside?" He nods and He takes my hand as we walk inside.
