Chapter 20: Kidnapped
Tears slide down Kavita's cheeks while she parked her car on the side, exhaling a breath.
"Right. . . I didn't do anything wrong." She convinced herself and closed her eyes, leaning forward as she rested her head on the steering wheel.
"I possess something you can't afford to loose. . ." His words repeat in her mind and she began crying, unable to control her emotions.
"I'm so sorry Mumma Papa." She cried, apologising to her mother and father from the bottom of her heart.
"Shake it off Jayant. Tell me, what do you want?" Kavita questioned in a stern serious tone, staring at him again and he chuckled, taking a sip from his wine glass.
"I'm being kind." He replied, blinking at her and she scoffed, "I didn't ask for your kindness."
"If you're forgetting, we made a deal. . . Should I remind you?"
"The deal is over Jayant. I, can't betray Swara."
"But then you'll be betraying me."
She scoffed, "should I be guilty about leaving your side?"
"So you do admit you were on my side."
"I wasn't and never have been. . ." She trailed off while he glared at her, "you brought me, I didn't willingly agree to your bullshit!"
"Too bad. . ." He curled a smirk as he flapped his evil eyes at her, "I possess something you can't afford to loose. . ."
She lowered her gaze as it occupied her mind, it was true. He had something she could never afford to loose no matter what.
"I. . . I don't care anymore." She replied as she swallowed, lifting her head to face Jayant. "I'm with Swara and I'll stand with her."
He scoffed, "I guess you made your decision. Now I'll make mine. I was going easy on you, but now. . . You'll face the punishment."
"I don't care." She fearlessly remarked, walking away straight after and Jayant clenched his jaw, throwing the glass of wine on the floor in anger.
"Fine, you wanna play it this way. Then fine! I'm taking over your company!" He yelled as loud as he could and Kavita merely swallowed while disappearing.
**
"Your game is over." Swara confidently uttered while stood in front of Shekhar, who scoffed.
"And you think it really is?" Shekhar questioned, glaring at Swara, Sameer, Sheesh, Sahil and Sanskaar.
"We have your confession. . ."
"Of what?" Shekhar asked as he interrupted Sameer, "me saying how I accidentally pushed Sharmishta down the stairs?"
He smiled as he watched Swara lower her gazes while thinking, and then blinked at Sameer. "You won't even get a court hearing based on that. Accidents happen, and besides. . . It's not like I killed her. She slipped, fell and died!" Shekhar exclaimed and stormed away from the garden, leaving Swara slightly worried.
"Really?" Sahil asked and stood in front of Swara, "would that not get him arrested? Did we go through all that for nothing?"
"No." Sanskaar spoke, grabbing their attention, "he's lying to delay you from calling the police. He clearly admitted he pushed Sharmishta Aunty down the stairs, which would at least get him charged for misleading, hiding the crime and lying to the court and the police." He assured, and looked at Swara, who sighed a relief, nodding her head afterwards.
*
"I never thought you would betray me like that Nayonika. . . Why did you do it?"
Nayonika avoided eye-contact with Shekhar, crossing her arms across her chest, not bothered to answer him at all. She seemed hurt, and upset at Shekhar, maybe for behaving so disgusting that he encouraged a man to molest a woman.
"Why!" He yelled, holding her by the shoulders this time, flapping his betrayed, hurt and painful eyes at his lady love, Nayonika.
She jerked his hands away, glaring at him with anger. "Keep your hands to yourself!" She remarked in pure anger, gritting her teeth while continuing to glare at him fiercely.
"Why? You ask me why?" She questioned and then scoffed, "because this isn't about me or you anymore Shekhar. You behaving so low wasn't for me!"
He narrowed his pain-filled eyes at her, confused as he doesn't understand why she betrayed him.
Nayonika swallowed, looking down as her eyes started to well up. "You've changed Shekhar, you're crossing your limits. . . You're becoming a horrible person. You make me feel like you're not the Shekhar I fell in love with." She added, having the courage to looked at him while speaking. "You pushed your wife down the stairs and I still kept quiet, believing you'd done it by accident. But what you're doing to Swara isn't an accident. Have you forgotten who she is?"
"You're fighting me for that Swara?" He sounded heartbroken and betrayed. "You betrayed me for that Swara!"
"You promised to love me!" Nayonika raised her tone while staring at Shekhar, "when I first fell in love with you, you promised to marry me! I believed you. But you married someone else, I still stayed with you! I supported you and didn't leave your side for once! Whatever you did, I did not object and firmly stood with you! Because you promised it was for us, you promised it would be all over." She reminded as tears fall out of her eyes, "you said you wanted the property, I waited. You said. . ." She sobbed as she closed her eyes, "that we would be peaceful once you divorce Sharmishta and marry me. . . I let you marry Sharmishta. Whatever we did, was for us. But now. . ." She swallowed, opening her eyes again "it doesn't feel like that anymore. Everything you do now, isn't for us! It's for you and only you! You going crazy about the property is about you! You wanting to get rid of Swara just to have your property back is just for you. . ." She couldn't complete as her cry interrupted.
He closed his eyes, feeling the pain in his heart.
"You're becoming so blind, that. . . You don't even see what you're doing." She cried, sniffing while wiping her tears with her drape. "I don't want this anymore Shekhar, please stop. Forget about the property, I will love you even when you have nothing, just like I did. We. . ." She walked closer to him while placing her hand on his cheek, "we don't need this property. Me and you, can just move away, and live in a cottage near a lake, just like we dreamed. . . So please, stop all this now."
He opened his eyes, looking at Nayonika and tears seeped down his eyes. "You know for sure that I can never leave my property with Swara. . ." He trailed off and Nayonika blinked at him while closing her mouth.
"You don't have to do this."
He pulled her hand down and she scoffed, "you're choosing the property over me?"
He shook his head, "I still love you Nayonika and I will always love you."
"Then why. . ." She sniffed, calming herself down "why can't you let go?"
"You know why. . ." He trailed off and sniffed, wiping his tears. "She can't have our property, only Sameer has the right on it."
"Shekhar, please. . ." She pleaded with her eyes in agony but Shekhar had walked away, giving his indirect answer.
She fell on her knees, crying her heart out and Sameer, Swara, Sheesh, Sahil and Sanskaar watched her after hearing their whole conversation while stood outside their room, hiding behind the wall.
*
After a while, Swara was walking back and forth in her room while thinking about something.
"He loved Nayonika before marrying Maa. Did he really need to fall this low?" She questioned herself in a low tone and in disbelief. "How can he call that love, marrying another woman. And how did Nayonika allow him to marry my Maa and ruin her life? How can she call that love. . ." She added, sounding disappointed, yet angry and slightly upset.
Her face cocked to the side as she watches Sanskaar walking inside with a plate of food.
"What are you doing here?"
"You haven't eaten. . ." He trailed off and forwarded the plate to her with a small smile. "I've brought food." Swara looks down at it.
"Why?" She queried raising her gazes at him again.
'Why?' He asked his inner-self, speechless as he had no answer to her why.
"I. . ." He struggled to respond, pressuring himself to find a suitable answer, "I wanted to make sure. . . You're healthy. If you're not then how will you succeed?"
She creased her forehead, "are you making sense?"
He swallowed, "I wanted to make sure you're eating. You haven't eaten the whole day and if, you don't have the energy then how will you fight Shekhar?"
"That's none of your concern!" She exclaimed, rolling her eyes at him and he simply curled a small smile on his face, "Is Kavita back yet?"
"I don't know." He replied and Swara sighed, blinking down at her phone.
"I wonder where she is." Swara worriedly uttered while thinking, hoping she was okay.
"She must be fine. . ." He trailed off and then placed the plate on her bed. "Make sure to have this."
Her eyes move towards the plate and he turned, to head out.
"Have you put poison in this?" He stopped after hearing her question and turned to face her again. "Or an intoxicating drip?" She added, making her eyes meet his and he lowered his gazes, feeling guilty and ashamed.
"I'm sorry." He apologised and headed out without wasting a second there.
She glanced down at her phone and her eyes dilate as she receives a call "Kavita!" She exclaimed, sounding relieved and answered the call instantly.
"Hel. . ." She stopped, creasing her eyebrows and glanced at the phone screen. "Why did she disconnect it?"
Soon, a message from Kavita is opened by Swara and she read it. "I'm outside, come fast. I need to tell you something."
"Why is she outside?" Swara wondered and exhaled while walking out of her room.
*
He slid his hand down his pockets, "what!" He bluntly exclaimed while staring at Jayant, who was stood in front of him. "Why did you call me out?"
"I wanted to tell you something. . ." Jayant paused as he blinked at his brother Sheesh with a obvious smirk curling over his lips. "Thank you for being stupid."
"What?" Sheesh questioned as his eyebrows frowned, he was confused to see a devilish smirk on his brothers lips, hinting something was not right.
All of a sudden, few men grab onto Sheesh, kicking him down and tying his hands.
"What the. . ." Before Sheesh could yell, a hand was aggressively pressing a white cloth over his mouth.
Soon, he lost his conscious and Jayant scoffed "Throw him into the van." Jayant ordered his men and they shook their heads, dragging Sheesh.
Jayant sighed as he watched Swara walk outside the gates.
"Hi. . ." He trailed off and Swara looked at him. "W. . . What are you doing here?"
"I came here for you."
"Where's Kavita!"
"I'll take you to her." He uttered and Swara looked on, sensing something wrong.
Before she could head back inside, she was grabbed by Jayant's men, who instantly put a white cloth over her mouth, making her loose her conscious.
"Throw her in the van too." He ordered and two men drag Swara towards the van, where Kavita and Sheesh were laying unconscious and tied.
Jayant smirked, and then chuckled. "Now. . . It's my turn." His chuckle changed into a laughter, a proud yet a creepy laugh, that could make an innocent heart fear.
*
"Has anyone seen Sheesh?" Sahil questioned as he walked inside the hall, where Sameer was sat.
"No, why?" Sameer looked away from his phone and up at Sahil who sighed, "he's not in the room, and nowhere to be seen."
A thought came into Sahil's mind and he gasped, confusing Sameer, "what if Shekhar is torturing him somewhere?"
"Are you out of your mind?" Sameer asked and stood up, "what will Shekhar get by torturing Sheesh?"
"He was part of the plan. . . What if Shekhar tries to kill him?"
"Where would he do that?"
"Huh?"
"Shekhar is in this house, he hasn't stepped out so where will he torture Sheesh?" Sahil gave it a thought and Sameer shook his head in disbelief.
"Right. . . But where did Sheesh go?"
"He must be somewhere here." Sameer assured before walking away and Sahil flapped his eyes while thinking.
As he walked slightly forward, his eyes move to the side and watched Shekhar walking out of the house and creased his forehead. "Where is he going?"
**
After a while, Shekhar was sat inside his car, waiting. Soon, a knock on his window grabbed his attention and he turned his head to the side, sliding his window down.
"You can come in now." The man uttered, examining Shekhar's car and Shekhar opened the door, he moved back and Shekhar stepped out, closing the door from behind.
"I have nothing in there." He replied in a stern tone and headed towards the entrance to an old rusty, burnt factory.
After entering, he waved his hand in front of his face after an unpleasant smell tickled his nose. "Ahh, disgusting!" He mumbled to himself and continued walking, covering his nose with his palm while heading towards a figure.
"You came?"
"I had to." Shekhar replied and put his hand down, smirking at the Jayant, who faced him.
Shekhar's eyes move to the side, flapping his eyes at an unconscious Swara who was tied to the chair and unconscious Kavita and Sheesh who were on the floor.
To Be Continued. . .
Up Next - Sanskaar, Sahil, Sameer, Nayonika worried. . . Jayant to force Swara to marry him. . .
