Adanma's Pov
After an agonizing thirty minutes of Mrs Loretta's storytelling, Joseph comes into the room.
"Grandma, we should leave Nene to rest. She's not feeling very well, remember?" He says, cutting her story short.
"But I'm not causing any trouble. I'm helping her. Am I not helping you?" She asks, her neck stretching out to me.
Nothing she has said in the past thirty minutes seem familiar to me. That and I stopped listening to her story a long while ago.
"I'm really tired. Maybe you should tell me the rest later." I say with an exaggerated yawn.
"Oh oh, no problem. No problem, my child. Rest very well, inu (you hear)?" She says and leaves the room in her usual slow pace.
Joseph falls back on the other bed, releasing a loud groan. "I'm so exhausted mehn."
I hum as a form of response. I'm already dressed in the gown Mrs Loretta gave me. It was light and really long. A suitable night wear. I could tell that midnight was only a few minutes away. The darkness outside coupled with my heavy eyelids say so.
The curtains fly around as the cold night wind pushes through, sending along with it the thirsty mosquitoes that somehow find ways of getting in despite the strong nets on the windows.
"So err mum and I would be taking you to your school abi tutorial centre tomorrow. You'd see your friends and hopefully remember something." He says as he awaits my reply.
I look at him with the side of my eyes. "Isn't it too early for that? I just got back from the hospital today."
"Nene, the sooner the better for you. Don't you want to regain your memory fast?" He asks and I sigh.
"Do you think I'd remember?" I ask in a small voice.
"The doctor said to surround you with a familiar environment. Your friends are like your sisters. You'd surely remember them na. Abi?" He asks and I shrug.
I guess tomorrow will tell.

Kene's Pov
"It's a lie." I say loudly, widening my eyes.
"I'm serious. Why would I lie?" Rebecca asks laughing.
Ahh omo. Somebody should wake me up please.
"Are you sure? Goldberg Academy? Like the Goldberg Academy everybody knows?" I ask, immensely surprised.
"Yes na. How many times will I say it?"
Jesu Kristi.
We were climbing up the stairs to Adamma's room when Rebecca told me Adamma went to GBA, as in Goldberg Academy.
That school is freaking expensive. It's like the most expensive in the whole of Lagos. Surely entering top five most expensive schools in the whole of Nigeria. Maybe even top three.
I shouldn't be that shocked, i mean she's a politician's daughter after all but I can't help it.
"You kor? Which school do you go to?" Rebecca asks once we get into the room.
I hiss before replying. "School? I go to one tutorial centre like that. Mr Paulo's Tutorials, do you know it?" I ask, already knowing what her answer would be.
"Mr Paulo? I don't think I've heard of it before." She replies as expected. I nod and sit on the bed. Rebecca surprises me by sitting next to me on the bed.
"Why aren't you going to a normal secondary school?"
"No money." I reply and she nods slowly.
"So are you going to the school tomorrow?"
My lips tug up and I scoff. "No now. That's just going to be crazy. Very crazy. I can't go to that school na."
"What's there? It'd just be a for a day and besides everybody's going to think you're Adamma."
"You're not serious." I laugh and stand from the bed. "But wait o..." I sit back on the bed.
Imagine me, going to that school. If I tell Anita this one she'll just die.
"If I were in your shoes ehn, Lord knows I'll be very happy. Girl do you know the kind of luck you have to go to that school, even if it's just for a day?" Rebecca says dramatically.
"And again I heard that school has fine boys. As in fine boys. Not ordinary fine o. Beautiful creatures laidis." She adds and I immediately sit up.
"Yes yes yes. That's the same thing I heard o."
I remember that day. We were gisting in the class. I don't even know who brought it up. I just know the girls were talking about how fine the boys from GBA are while the boys were talking about how endowed and pretty the girls were.
"In fact," I say a little loudly, jumping down from the bed. "I'm going to that school."
The Lord has offered me this opportunity to bless my eyes. Who am I to reject it?
"Now you're talking." She hails and gives me a high five.
There's a brief moment of silence before Rebecca speaks.
"How do you feel about all this?"
I glance at her, allowing myself to get a little lost in my thoughts before replying.
"I don't even know how to feel. It's not everyday you find out you have a stinkingly rich twin sister, you know." I say and we share a small laugh.
"It still feels like I'm reading someone else's story." I stop for a second and continue. "What I sha know is that when I finally get back home, my mum has a lot of explaining to do."
"Have you tried talking to the Senator?"
"Yes but we weren't able to talk very well. He hasn't been around." I shrug. "I don't even want to say anything to him. Let me just go back to my own house tomorrow, that's my own."
"After you go to GBA." She interjects.
"Yeah after that." I reply with a laugh.
Later, we start talking about nothing and everything. Turns out Rebecca is a huge fan of Davido. Can you imagine? Of all people.
"Davido is so eww. His songs are trash, his face sef, trash." I say, releasing a fake gag.
"What did you just say?" She asks in a dangerously quiet voice.
"Davido is trash." I repeat, laying emphasis on the last word.
"He. Is. Tr-" A pillow hits me square in the face, interrupting what I'm about to say.
"Take that back." Rebecca screams hitting me repeatedly with the pillow.
"Never." I yell, struggling to block the pillow attacks. "He's...trash." I barely make out as she continues to attack me with pillows.
Loud honks followed by the sound of the gate downstairs opening, interrupts our fight.
"You're such a bully." I tell her adjusting my hair and top she had already wrinkled.
"You're such a bully." She mimicks, heading towards the window. "Senator Peters is back."
I go to stand beside her.
"Goodnight then." She says and makes her way out of the room.
"Goodnight."
"If you like don't wake up early tomorrow." She says before shutting the door behind her.
I fall back on the bed with a wide grin.
Tomorrow should come fast.
