Bella hadn't wanted to go to the beach with Jessica, but now that she was here she had to admit that she was having great day. The weather was perfect, for the first time in a week the sun was shining, even the water of the ocean was nice enough for her to take off her cover up, and go for a swim. The girls had just laid out their beach towels to dry off a bit before heading home, when Jessica's crush Edward Cullen made his way over to where they were, inviting Jessica to go for a swim. "I don't know, I mean I'm here with Bella, she's new and I can't just leave her alone." Bella wanted to remain Jessica that she wasn't actually new, at least not anymore. But she didn't, it was kinda nice to know that Jessica was turning down an opportunity to spend time with her crush in order to stay with her, and that's why Bella said "It's alright, Jess I don't mind. You should go, I'll be fine!" "See beautiful, your friend doesn't mind, besides she can keep my younger brother company." Edward says as he waves over a boy standing far enough away that neither girl seemed to notice him until he'd made over and sat down right on Bella's towel. Bella knew that the boy's name was Jasper, but she had no idea that the 2 were related considering the fact that they looked nothing alike, not to mention the fact that they had different last names. Jessica looked confused as she sat there for a second looking up at Edward's outstretched hand, it wasn't until Bella leans over to whisper "Well go on!" that Jessica put her hand in Edward's letting him pull her up, Bella couldn't keep the smile off her face as she watched Edward keep Jessica's hand in his as they walked out towards the ocean.

Bella may have only been at Forks High School, for a few months now, but she knew that Jasper was the captain of the baseball team, and that he was popular, far more popular than her, even though Jessica and her group of friends had taken her in. Which was probably why he'd been so far away when Edward came over to talk with Jessica, for all she knew the other boy didn't have enough courage to make the walk over alone, so he'd made his brother come too. And now he'd rather be anywhere but sitting with here, which is what had her turning in his direction before saying "You don't have to stay here with me, I'll be fine if there's somewhere or someone you'd rather be with!" Jasper looks over to see that Bella is sitting farther away than she had been when he first sat down, and this upset him a little bit, but he still asked his question "Why would you think that I want to be anywhere else?" "Because you're popular, and I'm not! Your gorgeous, while I'm barely pretty, I'm not nearly pretty enough for you. Last but not least because your brother and Jess have been gone for a few minutes now, and you've not said a single word to me." Hearing the the dark haired girl say these things made Jasper happy, he couldn't believe that the girl he'd been crushing on since the 1st time he seen her walking down the hallways at school, thought she was barely pretty. He really wanted to find out who told her that, and knock some scene into him or her (not that Jasper would really hit a girl, but he would have one of his sisters do it) not wanting to scare her or freak her out had Jasper starting their conversation out small "Just so you know I'm not the only one who can start a conversation, (now what Jasper wanted to say is your mouth seems works just fine, which is a theory I'd like to test. But he didn't want to freak her out to much so instead he says "Contrary to popular belief, you're more than capable of talking to me as well. Also what makes you think that I am popular?" then coping her final words "I'm glad you think I'm gorgeous, but you are far prettier than you give yourself credit for, whomever has made you think less needs a beat down!" he says as he quickly brought her hand to his lips, kissing it sweetly, like they did back in the old western movies that his sister Alice liked so much. He smiled as Bella begun to blush, before saying "You're crazy!" before she turned her attention back toward the ocean, she was secretly hoping to see Jessica and Edward heading back, not because she wanted to ruin her friends fun, but because she had to pee, and she didn't want to leave their stuff alone, of course Jasper was still sitting there, and she could've asked him to watch it, but that would mean telling him where she needed to go, and she definitely didn't want to do that, so she continued to watch the water, unfortunately she couldn't see the person she was looking for. Jasper wasn't sure what else to say, he'd given her an opening yet she turned her attention back towards the water, sadly he says "Well okay then, Bella I guess that's it then, I'll just go." "WHAT?? NO, YOU CANNOT GO! realizing how loud she was had Bella lowering her voice as she whispering "what I meant is, NO, I don't want you to go, please don't go! I just can't really think right now, much less talk because...." "Because why?" Jasper asked her very confused, "Because I need to you know..." seeing Jasper looking at her like she was crazy had her lowering her voice even more as she said "Pee... I need to pee like really bad! I had been about to go a little bit ago, then Jessica seen Edward walking this way, so she asked me, no she begged me not to leave her,  she thought it would make her look like a loser, that came to the beach alone. Then however your brother didn't just walk by us, he stopped and invited her to swim, which don't get me wrong I am happy for her. And I really would love to talk to you, because I'm curious to know how you manage to play baseball so well without your glasses? But right now I really can't think about anything except how badly I need to you know."  Hearing her confession made Jasper laugh, as he said "Why didn't you tell me sooner? I don't mind staying here with yours and Jessica belongings, while you run to the bathroom." "Thank you SO much, you're a lifesaver!" Bella said as she jumped up, kissing Jasper's check before she ran in the direction of the bathroom, she and Jessica passed as they walked toward the sand, luckily for Bella there wasn't a line, and she'd been able to get in quickly. As she sat on the toilet finishing up, she reflected on the fact that she had just kissed Jasper Hale on the cheek, although he'd kissed her hand a few minutes before so technically... no she didn't want to think about any of that, so instead she washed her hands and left the bathroom, stopping at a small snack bar to buy herself and Jasper a drink before returning towards their stuff, she had to admit that Jasper looked even more adorable than normal sitting on her pink beach towel. Sitting back down she says "Thanks again! I got you a Coke, I hope that's alright, if not you can have my Dr. Pepper, although I've already taken a few drinks from it." Jasper doesn't answer, instead he reaches his long arms up, grabs her wrist to pull her down, now his goal had been to get her to sit next to him, but somehow she lost her footing causing her to land on his lap. "This wasn't my plan, but it's actually better!" he said before wrapping his arms around her waist, then taking a big drink of her soda right from the straw. The two of them had been staring into each other's eyes when they heard someone clearing their throats behind them. Jasper figured it was his brother, and he was ready to kill him fr ruining his moment, which had taken far to long in his opinion. Jasper looks past Bella, to see his ex-girlfriend Lauren, although why she looks pissed was beyond him, since she had been the one that ended their 4 year relationship, last December. "WTF?? Are you thinking, you skank! Sitting on my boyfriends lap out in the middle of the beach! I didn't realize that you were stupid!" Bella may have not been attending Forks High School for long, but she didn't need to turn around to know who was talking to her, Lauren hadn't liked Bella since she transferred here. The more Bella tried to move out of his lap, the tighter his arms got around her waist, until she was right against his chest. It wasn't until she stopped moving that Jasper (who was still holding her against his chest) stood up and said "Are you CRAZY? We... No, scratch that you ended our 4year relationship, when you broke up with me, a week before Christmas. So you don't get to give call Bella or anyone else that I might want to be any kind of grief, and you most certainly don't get to call them names now back off!" Jasper says as he carried Bella down towards the ocean, it wasn't until they reached the warm water and Jasper was standing sideways with it up to his knees that he leans forward to whispered "I am not with anyone else anyone, nor do I want to be. I have liked you since day one, which is why when I seen you looking so beautiful, Jessica too I guess... sitting up there all alone that I paid Edward $20 bucks to go over there and invite Jessica to go swimming with him. I knew I needed an in, and this was it, only my plans didn't actually go the way I'd hoped they would, since you needed a bathroom break. Then when I finally got your attention, my ex comes over ruining my plans." Bella was trying to act tough as she asked him "And what were your plans?" "Obviously to talk to you for a while, then ask you to dinner, if you said Yes, than I'd take you out and at the end of the night I would have.... before he could finish however a huge wave came, knocking them into the water. This made Bella laugh, she was finally able to stand on her own again before saying "What if they weren't ruined?" as she leans closer to kiss his cheek before swimming out into the deeper waters.

Seeing as how Edward and Jasper are out at the beach, in the sun in the middle of the afternoon. I don't think they are vampires. Hopefully you'll all enjoy this story.
