Hey, y'all! I just finished my last fan fiction, and now I'm onto the next! I hope y'all enjoy this one too!
Deku pov
"Sorry, kid. It's not going to happen."
Those words hit like a truck. "Not going to happen?", Mom questions. She looks over at me, her expression turning pained at the sight of my broken face. I drop my All Might figurine and pinch myself, trying to make it seem like a dream.
But it's not.
I exit the doctors office, still shaken up.
It's not going to happen
It's not going to happen
It's not going to happen
It's not goi-
"Izuku! Are you okay?" I look over at Mom, her face full of concern. I nod and droop my head while stepping into the car. We drive home, Mom trying to cheer me up the entire way.
I look out the window, thinking about what the others will say.
What will Kacchan think? What will my friends think?
My thoughts are cut off by the sound of a car door opening and closing. I look around, realizing that we are home already. I step out of the car and head inside the house. "Do you want Katsudon? It's your favorite!", Mom says cheerfully.
I nod unenthusiastically, earning a small sigh from my mother. I head up to my room and take a look at the posters surrounding me. Posters of All Might. The hero I'll never get to be.
I sink down onto the floor, feeling tears slip down my cheeks. I sob into my arms, my dreams slowly slipping away from me.
A few moments later, Mom comes in calling for dinner. I walk downstairs and sit down at the table, the smell of Katsudon filling the kitchen. I eat my dinner slowly, not wanting to be anywhere or talk to anyone.
After clearing the table, I walk back up to my room. I sit at my deku, watching the same video, over and over again.
"Do you think I can be a hero too?"
The next day I go back to school, ashamed and nervous. "I heard Izuku doesn't have a quirk!" "That's so lame!"
I sniff, feeling my emotions start to well up again. I sit down on the ground, Kacchan behind me, laughing and pointing. "P-please stop...", I say.
Small tears pour down my cheeks, catching Kacchan's attention. "Look at him! He's crying!", he laughs.
It's not funny.
Stop laughing.
I wipe my tears and move away from him, feeling hopeless. I pick up my crayon and begin to draw myself as a hero, but stop midway.
What's the point? It's not like I can even try without a quirk...
I shake away the thoughts and continue to draw, not minding the others stares and whispers.
I make it through the day, feeling just about nothing. When I get asked what I want for dinner, I hum. When I get asked what I want to do, hum. Hum, hum, hum. It's the only answer that I can muster right now.
I sigh, looking down and scuffing my feet. "It'll be okay, Izuku. I know you can do it!", Mom says sweetly. I nod and sigh, too emotionally tired to deal with anything else.
When we get back to the house, there are a few men in black business suits waiting outside. "May I help you?", Mom asks suspiciously. "Yes, we'll talk inside.", one of the men say. We look at each other and nod, realizing that these men were not to be messed with.
A few minutes later and Mom has tea ready for the guests. "We are from an organization called the QAA, or the Quirkless Assassins Academy. We offer a program for the quirkless to become assassins. Of course this academy is approved by the government, though they have no say in any of our jobs and assassinations. This is a one time opportunity, but we understand if you wish to decli-" "I'll do it.", I interrupt.
Mom chokes on her tea, looking at me with wild, scared eyes. "Izuku..."
"I can't do anything else, so why not do this.", I shrug. She purses her lips and grips the cup a bit tighter. After a few seconds, she smiles and turns to me. "If you want to do it, I'll allow you. Just...be careful okay?", she says nervously.
I nod my head and smile wildly, the guests handing Mom the papers. She reads over them, signing as she goes. I peek over her shoulder, trying to look at the contract. Once she's done, the guests turn to me. "We leave tomorrow, so start packing now."
I raise my eyebrows and rush up to my room. I take out my suitcase and fold my clothes messily, not minding where I was putting things. "This is kind of sudden, yeah?", Mom says. I nod, looking up at her with shining eyes.
The next day, the same men come by with a black car and other children inside. I wave my goodbyes to my Mom and get inside, the other kids smiling the same way I am.
We drive to a giant building, presumably the academy. It's modern features stand out, making it look prestigious and serious. Sunlight reflects off of the giant glass windows, making it look shiny and majestic. The dew on the perfectly trimmed grass sparkles in the morning light, calming it down.
We get out of the car and make our way to our dormitories, unpacking and settling in. Every year we get to pick a new dorm style, while we can also have the academy pick it for us. But it seems that everyone wanted theirs customized.
I smile at my new home, and the home that I will be living in for most of my life, until I decide to live out on my own as an assassin for a larger company.
Hey guys! I hope y'all liked chapter one! This idea has been in my mind for a while, so I decided to write it! Well, chapter two will be out either in a few hours or in about a day! Love y'all sm!
