Star called Tom and Janna to tell them that Kayla was at the castle for a sleepover, which they easily agreed to. The girls were in Alex's bedroom talking about the forest encounter.

"So it didn't hurt you. No attack, no intimidation, no threat. Nothing?"
Kayla asked lying on Alex's pink queen sized bed, who was sitting on it .

"I don't get it either Kay-kay. The Naval is supposed to be this place where people should be terrified because of the known evils that could destroy you. But the one I saw just looked at me like it was just watching me. I don't think it knew who I was or maybe what I was."

"So what are you gonna do?"

Alex got off the bed and started to pace about in the room"First off research. I need to know what makes the Naval so terrifying. Next, train myself to use more combat spells. And maybe, just maybe go in for myself."

"Are you nuts?!! Something could kill you or worse."

"There are worse things than death."

"Much worse."

"Well I'm taking that chance. I need to know what it was."

Then someone knocked on the door.
"Come in." Alex ordered.
A muscular monster with a horn in his head came in.
"Your Highness, your parents are calling you and Princess Kayla for dinner."

"Okay, thanks Nat. Your excused." Alex answered before he shut the door and left.
"Let's go. After dinner, we can keep talking about it." Kayla assured.

"Okay."

The next day the two went into school early as always, to meet their gang of friends.

Alex opened her locker and put her bag in and took out her Biology and Mewni History book. She shut it, only to see her friend Rickey.

"Hey Rickey."

"Morning Alex." He answered back.

He had grown a lot over the years. He kept his usual low cut black hair, had grown more muscle and his voice got more masculine than expected. He wore a blue denim jacket with a white button shirt underneath, black jeans and silver sneakers.

"So uh where's Kayla?"

"Oh, she went to the bathroom. Had to fix her hair." Alex replied.

"Oh." Rickey looked away, still nodding. Alex looked at him with a smirk and leaned against the locker door. "Dude. Ask her out already! Or she's just gonna lose interest."

"Whaaaat! I don't know what your talking about.... wait a second! What do you mean by lose interest? Does she....?"

"Yes."

"And I...?"

"Never noticed her because you were just as clueless."

He hit his back on the wall and slid down till he was on the floor in embarrassment, then Alex came down to his level, patting him gently on his back.
" There there Richard Gozama. There there. You still have hope."

"Sure Alex. I can ask her on a date, get married and we make some beautiful babies together. Yeah there is no fixing this."

"Well if I were you, I would stop being a sarcastic chicken and ask her to the school dance. Now I am going to study hall with Eva, see ya later. " Alex got up and went to class.

"See ya later." Rickey whispered, pondering who exactly he was going make his move.

At Study hall, Eva and Alex were sharing a desk.
Eva was wearing a red short sleeved T-shirt with black and white strip long sleeves attached to them, black shorts, white socks and black work boots. Her hair now had red streaks in it and was packed in a low short ponytail. She and Alex were sharing ear buds when something caught her eye in the book Alex was reading.

"The Dark Forest of Naval?" She asked looking at the title."What is that a novel or something?"

"It's a Mewman History Book. I'm doing some research on my kingdom, something was in there that caught my attention."

"Okay." There was a moment of silence before Eva raised a finger to ask a question, Alex immediately answered her
"Yes,Hugo called. And he says hi."

Eva went back to what she was doing grinning ear to ear and blushing. Alex smiled at how funny and clueless her friends were.

After school,Alex went back home and met her grandmother Moon, who agreed to get some knights to train her in combat.
She entered a room, with a long line of knights standing shoulder to shoulder. She moved towards, and poked one gently on his chest. He immediately took a fight stance causing her to jump and land on her bum.

"Oww!" She went.

Moon came in to see her granddaughter on the floor.
"Alexandra! Are you alright my dear?"
Moon asked helping her to her feet.

"Yes Grandma. I'm fine. But it looks like I have my work cut out for me."

Moon smiled "You know, you are an amazing and talented girl. I know you can do this when you put your heart to it."

"Thank you Granny."

The knights started her off with some stands, then move to some basic moves. She was an extremely fast learner and would advance greatly on many occasions. One day, just in the middle of her training Kayla, Hugo and Lucas Pony head came in, right when she was flipping one of the knights on his back.
Alex looked in their direction to see them with their dropped jaws.
"Hey guys. What's up?"

"Well sweetheart, we were coming to hangout, but we can see your busy flipping..TRAINING!! We can see your busy training." Lucas said, avoiding Alex a little.

Lucas, son of Queen Pony Head, was a yellow pony head with a blue short mane combed into a Mohawk. He had blue lightning bolt marks on his sides. He had a green horn, and his eyes were just like his mom's.

"So uh whatcha up to?" Lucas asked

"Um Granny, can we continue tomorrow? If that's okay?" Alex asked politely

"Of course sweetie. Alright lads, were done for the day." Moon led the knights out while Alex joined her friends.

They four came to her room to hang, but it wasn't as neat as it usually was. There were books heaped next to her dresser, on her bed were what seemed to be a hundred notes, some scattered on the floor.

"Woah! Talk about messy!" Kayla exclaimed "This wouldn't have to do with you know what, does it?"

"I'm sorry, but I'm very confused. What is 'you know what' exactly?" Hugo asked

"Okay, I may have entered possibly maybe accidentally..... the Dark Forest of Naval." Alex said busy picking up some her notes.

"YOU DID WHAT?!!!" Hugo and Lucas screamed. Kayla quickly covered their mouths before any one could hear them.

"Look I know this is crazy and incredibly stupid, but she is convinced that the Naval be seen first hand before being deemed dangerous. So we are going to help her, got it?" Kayla asked tapping her foot, the boys started to look away and whistle.
And as a result, Kayla clenched her fist and fire consumed her whole body like her father, and screamed in her demon voice
"HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR!!!"
Hugo and Lucas grabbed hold of each other in fear and nodded their heads vigorously.
Then Kayla went back to normal in an instant with a cheery smile.
"Good, so when is this happening Ally?"

"In a week. And hers the plan."

Hugo will be our lookout, he can shape shift into one of the guards and stand down the hall as security detail. Lucas you're the distraction. If anything goes wrong, you're going to keep them busy with your stories. Kayla you're our actress. You have to make my  parents think that I'm in bed, and to make sure that there is no suspicions, we'll have a sleepover. And that should give me five to six hours to slip out through the window, fly on Cloudy and analyze the Naval up close and personal.

Everything had gone according to plan, and now Alexandra Butterfly Diaz was outside the Naval forest, ready to risk her life for answers.

"Here goes everything."

And she walked in.
