Donghyuck groggily sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes with his fists, before opening them slowly.
A slight wince escaped past his lips due to sudden light, and the bed besides his', belonging to Mark, creaked, indicating the elders presence in the room with him.
''Good mor-night, Donghyuck!'' The aforementioned male chirped brightly, far too excited for someone to be at- he looked over to the alarm clock on his side table- 7:30pm.
With a quiet grumble of a response to the elder, he lazily fell back into the comfort of his sheets and closed his, eyes, hoping for more sleep.
Until Mark abruptly appeared at Donghyucks side and Shook him back awake.
''Hey, Hyuckie!''
The other groaned before muttering out a low ''yes''.
''Renjun came to pick you up, he's sitting in the living room an-''
That seemed to snap the sleep out of Donghyucks eyes' and brains, and he quickly scrambled to get to his closet (almost tripping. Twice.)
Donghyuck fished out what looked like a black over-sized sweater, with the word ''Sinner'' wrote on it in a big, red font, with a pair of black jeans he had bought specifically for day outs.
Setting them both on the bed, Donghyuck told the dumbfounded Mark to let his friend know he'll be down in two before zooming into the bathroom, vigorously pushing the door shut.
Mark sighed, still on the youngers bed with his hands dangling to the side.
'God, Hyuckie, you'll never change, will you?'
He headed out to do as told.
•{•×•}•
''JAEMINNNNN~~~'' Donghyuck screamed loudly and threw himself in the said males embrace, ignoring the other five of his group who were all either rolling their eyes or grunting at the attention Jaemin always got from Donghyuck. ''Pros of being the favorite friend, y'all wouldn't know!'' Jaemin had once exclaimed, earning himself none but everlasting ignorance from 4 of his friends (mostly just Chenle because ''hyung is supposed to love me the most! Hmph!''
The elder of the two pulled back and roamed his eyes up and down (wi arae, wi wi arae-) the other, teasingly whistling at him with a sly smirk.
''PERVVVVV~~~~~~~ OMG I FEEL MOLESTED-''
Jaemin screeched and jumped back, landing right into Jenos awaiting arms causing all 6 of them to wheeze in genuine happiness.
Collecting himself, Donghyuck giddily plopped down on his seat next to Jisung on Chenles bed, pulling him closer til the kid was practically in his lap.
''Hyunggggggg'' A smile adorned his features, making Jisung whine even more more than he was already.
''Pfft don't act like you don't absolutely love hyucks affection!'' Renjun noticed his flushed cheeks and exclaimed, taking pride in being the first friend in their group who had their little baby turned into a ball of fluff, said ball reflexively turning to face Donghyuck and pointing accusingly at the Chinese.
Donghyuck, however, could only laugh at the scandalous shit eating grin that Renjun threw his way before slapping a pillow over Chenles (who was busy making kissy noises) mouth.
''HEYYYYY''
''JISUNG IS MY CHILD!''
''PFFT NO I'M NOT-''
''OMG Y'ALL''
Jeno screamed and startled the others, including Donghyuck, and they all immediately diverted their attention to him, watching him impatiently as he busily gaped at the phone in hand.
''WHAT?''
''EXOS HAVING A CONCERT TWO STREETS AWAY! THEY JUST RELEASED THE OFFIC-''
To say chaos ensued was an understatement, as Jisung threw himself to the floor, off of Donghyucks lap, to look for his wallet, and Jaemin fished open his own (while screaming), Chenle was already booking tickets (also while screaming), and sitting next to him, Donghyuck, Renjun and Jeno were- well- they were also screaming and flapping their arms around.
In short; the boys were screaming.
Chenle, however, was the first to speak up in a humane language (unfortunately in an inhumanly high pitched voice) claiming he had booked them all tickets.
Catching them all by surprise, the boys simultaneously turned their attention to him, stilling completely as he eagerly pressed the purchase button after what seemed like putting in his card info.
''Annnnddddddd- DONE!'' He looked up at the others dumbfoundedly staring at his face, before he smiled his absolutely beautiful smile and shrugged.
''Friendship anniversary gift!''
''YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT BABY-'' Jeno and Renjun spoke up at the same time, making Jisung and Donghyuck nod rapidly. Almost as if trying to prove a point.
''NOOOOO- I wanted to do it!''
''B-but those things cost 200 plus dollars, E A C H!'' Jaemin soon decided to intervene with straight facts, siding with the others' in this argument.
Seeing as though they were all extremely confused and (he thought) dissapointed, the air in the room around him suddenly grew cold and unwelcoming upon him, and the 17 year olds smile faltered into a frown, causing his shoulders to slump slightly due to embarrassment.
''Um- s-sorry. For that. I-I shouldn't have just-''
An abrupt hug cut him off, and he looked up to see himself in Jeno's embrace, the others smiling slightly at his expression through the buffer male's shoulder.
All embarrassment that he had been feeling two minutes ago had washed away just as quickly as it arrived and Chenle happily yielded into the others arms, slightly giggling.
''No apologizing, Lele! We were just mourning for your bank account!'' Jisung announced loudly a few moments later, clapping like a seal as the room erupted into a good fit of giggles and laughter, amidst which Jeno and Chenle had untangled themselves from each other.
After finally healing from their hurting lungs and teary eyes (due to laughter) the atmosphere in the room had obviously lightened, and only then did the others' take turns thanking the second youngest in the room and expressing their excitement to see the group up close (through mixes of screaming, dancing, and dramatic fake sobbing).
But Chenle just shooed them with his hands before plopping down on the bed next to Renjun, earning himself a very unneeded booty smack and a slap on the forehead, ''just because''.
Grabbing the once abandoned tv remote and switching it on, Jaemin and Jeno found themselves flipping through channels, fighting (the rest egging them on) whether they rewatch 'Toy Story 3''or 'Avengers: Endgame'.
Nonetheless the two decided on 'Toy Story 3' because Jeno is way too whipped for Jaemin and he can absolutely not say no to him. (As claimed by Donghyuck, the official match maker of the clique)
Yet somehow, as the group relaxes themselves and gets mentally prepared for the departure of Andy and the toys, Jaemin is seemingly the first one to fall asleep, head lolling around until Donghyuck grabs it and rests it on his shoulder, smirking slyly at Jenos wavering gaze on the younger.
''Make a move, man.'' He hears the youngest claim, earning himself a good glare and approx. 20 Seconds of tickle torture, best twenty seconds of the others' lives'.
Sighing contentedly for the first time since two days, Donghyuck let's his thoughts wander off into the possibilities of all those possibilities being possible- (blame Mark for embarassing both of them infront of Taeyong hyung's giant bestfriend) -that tomorrow, Donghyuck will wake up with his most beloved friends surrounding him, and the shining rays of the Sun won't have anything on him.
The adrenaline of their fun slowly seeps out, making way for the fatigue that comes after and Donghyuck finds his own head resting over Jaemins, eyes drooping close.
From two seats away Jeno rolls his eyes at the two, nonetheless forcing Jisung off his seat and taking his place, easily wrapping a limb around four shoulders and pushing himself closer to the two.
They had eachother, he thought before smiling slightly at the sight of Renjuns eyes drooping on a still energetic Chenles shoulder, coaxing the other Chinese male and Jisung to sleep too.
That night, Donghyuck found himself slowly walking along a beautiful lilac lavender field, a sad smile his face as all 5 of his dearest friends followed suit, some next to him, some before him, and some slightly behind him, all happily hopping around, their skins shining in the most breathtaking white suits, whilst Donghyuck looked like a dweeb in some regular nightwear. His eyes watered at the dreadful oddness in his heart.
Along the way, Donghyuck found himself tripping over some stones, falling straight to his face and wincing in pain as they scratched against his bare palms.
The male watched as all five of his friends rushed to help him, how their calming aura turned into that of frantic anxiety, and the shine disappeared from their beings.
Donghyuck had frowned, urging them all to calm down before reasurring them he was okay, that they he was just carelessly walking, causing them to frown and envelop him in a tight group hug.
Startled, at first Donghyuck tried to get away, soon enough giving up when the grip on his shoulders got relatively tight, yet somehow not rough enough to hurt him.
Relaxing into the little nest of bodies, Donghyuck felt light ignite within him, and when he finally pulled back from the others, their shine had returned. The frowns on their faces had turned into smiles, the dirt on their suits (from when they helped him up) had turned into sparkles, and then he felt it.
That ever so slight tingle on his arm, urging him to scratch it and he reached out for it, only making contact with a glowing sleeve.
He was no longer in his measly nightwear, Donghyuck eyed himself up and down in surprise, taking in the sight of himself before making eye contact with his friends turn by turn.
All it took was a smile and everything clicked.
Donghyuck was the reason they all shone. He was the Sun to their Moon.
Said male craned his neck in confusion, gaping bewilderedly at the others, on the verge of blurting out questions, before the lights infront of him, and behind his friends, had his breath stuck in his lungs.
At last, the Sun had rose from above the horizon, looking far more beautiful than it ever had in pictures, gleaming brightly at the dancing lavenders, shining upon the calm group of friends.
And Donghyuck saw it, he witnessed it all, he watched as the purple hue spread over the world, engulfing it in a cool, breezy weather.
He saw the Planet made of fire peek through the clouds, almost as if staring directly at him.
He saw his friends snake their arms around his shoulders, taking in the sight before them just as greedily as Donghyuck.
He saw the Sun fully shine the exact same moment he giggled.
It was Marvelous.
Donghyuck felt Marvelous.
