Talk to me...
⚠️*TW: S*ICIDAL THOUGHTS*⚠️
"Rosa," Gina said, gently shaking Rosa awake. Rosa had insisted that she sleep on the sofa while Gina had her bed but had sleepily joined Gina half way through the night.
"Mmm?" Rosa groaned and turned over, jumping in surprise when she saw her friend standing over her. "Gina, what are you doing? Why am i in my bed-"
"You came in during the night."
"I- oh," Rosa said quietly. Gina stroked her cheek softly.
"Talk to me, please," she said. "I know you feel alone right now, and i don't know why."
Rosa shook her head but otherwise ignored her, walking over to her dressing table and brushing her hair.
"Rosa."
"I cant, okay?" she snapped. "I'm terribly sorry to let you down but you can't always be in on all the gossip. Stay out of my business Linetti."
Gina stared at her, clearly stung. "I'm trying to help," she whispered.
"I don't need your help, or anybody else's."
"Right." They continued getting ready for work in silence, Rosa crying inside. She'd never meant anything less - she did need help and wanted nobody else's more than Ginas, but she just couldn't. Her heart felt so heavy, and as was the usual lately, she found herself fighting against her own thoughts. 'You hurt Gina. Gina, of all people. You're just hurting everybody. You're worthless, causing all these problems,' her mind told her mercilessly. Her teeth pierced her lip as she struggled to hold back tears. Sometimes it was hard to not cry, sometimes she thought she was too numb to ever cry again. Both were horrible.
"Rosa!"
"YES, GINA!" Rosa bellowed.
"I- you weren't answering me. i was just saying we need to go." Gina's voice shook.
"Ok, let's go then. I'm driving, you can go another way."
"Oh. I thought you could maybe give me a ride, or..."
"I want to be alone." Rosa strode away, pulling on her coat and slamming the door, leaving a bewildered Gina standing in her room. She sighed and started up her car. She knew she was hurting Gina and hated herself for it but she was really struggling, and she'd always been taught to push people away when that happened. Maybe then if anything happened... maybe then less people would be hurt, even though she felt like nobody would care anyway. She knew something might happen - Rogers was a dangerous man.
'Come on Rosa,' the voice inside her head whispered. 'Who are you really in danger from right now?'
