I walked up to my house with the feeling of someone watching me.I turned around and saw nothing.I walked into my house and heard crying.I walked to the sound and saw my sister,Emily Kepler on the couch with a pair of dog tags in her hand.Emily and mine boyfriends went to the army 2 years ago and about a year later we received a call about them being dead.Today was the anniversary of their death.My sister is 18 and I'm 15.Johnny and Kevin(our boyfriends)pretended to be 18 so they could go to the army."Emily."I said sitting next to her.She put the dog tags around her neck and looked at me."I miss him,Ara."She admitted as tears came down her face."I miss them,too Emily.But we can't cry forever."I say trying to comfort her."I know but...everything reminds me of him.I can't just sit and wait for them to come home and then I realize they never are."Emily said as she played with Kevin's dog tags."I know,Em.But you have to accept that they're gone."I said putting my hand on her shoulder."I think about him everyday.It's my fault he's dead.I should've never let him go back to base."She admitted and I hugged her."Kevin's death was not your fault.You know nothing would have stopped them from going."I said as she cried on my shoulder.
"How about we move.Away from mystic falls."I suggested as we pulled apart."Really?"She asked wiping her tear stained face."Yeah really.No one will even notice we're gone."I said and she smiled."Ok lets go."She said and we got off the couch."We can start packing tomorrow because it's getting late."Emily said and I sighed."Fine Emily."I said and walked up to my room.I put on my nightclothes and put on my dog tags I keep in my nightstand.I looked at the picture of me and Johnny at the park.That was the day before he was deployed and I never saw him again."I love you Johnny."I whispered and turned on my side then fell asleep.
*Dream*
I looked at my surroundings.It was Johnny and I's spot.It was a small abandoned park with a meadow.It was still in good shape.There was a small swings set that was connected to a tree.There was a small pond with a bench next to it.It was almost nighttime and the stars were showing in the purple sky."Hey Bella."I heard a familiar voice say.I spun around to see my DEAD boyfriend Johnny."J-Johnny."I said looking up at him.He walked up to me and I hugged him.I put my face in the crook of his neck and cried."Hey don't cry,Bella."Johnny whispered in my ear.I felt him kiss the top of my head and I pulled away from him.He put his hands on the side of my face and wiped my tears away with his thumbs."Please stop crying.I don't like to see you sad."Johnny pleaded with sad eyes."I-I...how are you even here right now?"I asked as he grabbed my hands in his."I can't tell you that right now.I need to tell you something else though."He said rubbing circles on the back of my hands with his thumbs."What is it?"I asked quietly."I love you.I always have and I always will,but you need to forget about me and move on."He said and I looked up at him in disbelief."Why-Why would you w-want me to-to do t-that?"I asked pulling away from him."Please...just listen,Bella.You need to move on.You can't hang on to me forever."He said taking a step closer to me but I took a step back."I'm trying,Johnny,but I can't stop.I walk around this town everyday and everything reminds me of you.I wait for you to call or your next letter but-but then I realize I'll never get one,because...because you're d-dead.You-You're n-never coming home to me.I-I'll never see you again."I said angrily as tears streamed down my face."I'm sorry for that,Arabella."He said stepping closer."I'm sorry too.I'm sorry,that I'll never stop loving you.I'm sorry that I'll-I'll never forget about you.I'm sorry that your death was my fault."I said and he moved closer to me so our faces were inches apart."My death was never your fault.It was my choice to leave.It's my own fault.I'll never stop loving you either,but you have to let me go."He said and I looked up at him."Please don't make me."I begged as he put his hand on my cheek."Here take this."He said putting something in my hand.I looked down to see a bracelet."What is this for?"I asked him in a small voice."You'll know soon."He said and he put the bracelet on my wrist."I love you,Arabella."He said and I put my small hand on his hand that was on my cheek."I love you,too Johnny."I said and he just looked at me with an unexplainable expression.Before I knew it his lips were on mine.I missed his kisses.I could never get enough of them."I'm sorry."He whispered once we pulled apart.The next thing I knew he was gone."John-Johnny."I said looking around."Johnny where are you?"I yelled out,looking around.Tears streamed down my face as I heard nothing."Please come back!"I yelled again and fell to my knees.
*Dream over*
"Ara.Arabella wake up."I heard and shot up from my sleep."Johnny!"I whispered and looked up at her."He's gone,Emily.He's gone."I said crying as she hugged me."He-He left us.He left me."I sobbed into her shoulder."I know,Ara.It's ok.Everything is going to be fine."She said quietly."H-He told me to-to forget about him.I can't,Em.I can't forget about him."I said as she tried to calm me down."Just calm down,Ara.You're going to be fine."She said soothingly."He-He gave me this,right before he l-left."I said holding up my wrist where my bracelet was.Her eyes widened as she looked at her own wrist."Kevin gave me one exactly like that.I-I saw him,in my dream.He told me I-I should forget about him."Emily said her voice breaking."Do you think everything will change now?"I asked looking up at her."I-I don't know,Ara.Just get some sleep."Emily said patting me on the shoulder.I nodded and laid back down."I love you,Em."I said pulling the covers over me."I love you,too Ara."She said and walked out of the door.I grabbed the bear,Johnny bought me and pulled it close to me.He always told me that I had the biggest smile on my face when he gave it to me.I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Emily p.o.v
I closed the door to Arabella's room and walked back to my room.I looked at the picture of me and Kevin before he left.I sat on my bed and cried.Kevin left me.It's my fault he's dead.I should have convinced him to stay.He would still be alive if he stayed.I cried so much that I ended up falling asleep.
*Dream*
I was in my room with Kevin.I had my back against his chest and my head against his shoulder.Our legs were mixed together."I wish we could stay like this forever."I said burying my face into his shoulder."I know,baby."He said kissing the top of my head."I can't believe we're going to be starting a family."He said putting his hand on my already swollen stomach."I can't believe it either.My vote is on a girl."I said smiling up at him."I vote on a boy."He said smiling."Oh really now."I said my face inching closer to his."Uh-huh.Really."He said and kissed me.Our moment was interrupted by the telephone ringing.We broke apart and looked at the phone annoyed.Kevin reached over me and grabbed the phone.He clicked the answer button and put the phone next to his ear."Hello."He said into the phone.A couple seconds later a sad and frustrated look came over his face."Ok.I'll be there in a week."He said and hung up.I looked at him with a worried face."What is it,Kevin?"I asked as he looked at me."I'm being deployed."He said and I looked at him in shock and disbelief."But you just got back."I said as tears streamed down my face."I know baby,but it's just the way things are."Kevin said wiping my tears off my face."When do you leave?"I asked my voice breaking a little."Next week."He answered."Will you come back?"I ask quietly."I'll always come back."He said softly.I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug.He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back."I don't want you to go."I whispered in his ear."I know,Emmy,but I'll come back.I always do."He said and kissed my cheek."You promise?"I asked looking up at him."I promise.When I get back we'll do anything you want."He said and I smiled at him."I might have a few things in mind."I said mischievously."Oh really now."He said smiling with equal amount mischief."Yeah,really."I said and kissed him.Things quickly turned into something more.
*Scene change*
Me and Arabella were currently rocking out to our favorite band Superchick.There was a knock on the door and I hopped down from the couch to get it.I opened the door to see a man in a army uniform."Are you Emily Kepler?"The man asked and I nodded.Arabella came into the room."What's going on?"She asked and I turned back to the man."This is about Kevin Johnson and Johnny James."The man said."What about them?"Ara asked."I'm so sorry.They were in helicopter..."My eyes widened,already knowing what he was going to say."No.No no no no no.Please no."I whispered shaking my head."The helicopter crashed and only their bodies were found.There were no survivors."He said sadly."What does that mean?Emily what is he saying?"Arabella asked in a panicked voice."I am so sorry for your loss."He said and pulled out two letters and two dog tags(the army ones)."They wanted to give these to you."He said and I grabbed the things from his hands.He left and I closed the door."They-They're gone,Emily."I said turning to face her."No the-they can't be.The-They just can-can't.They...They promised."She said in a heartbroken voice.We both ran up to our rooms and just cried."You promised you would-you would come home.You promised,Kevin."I said said sobbing into my pillow."You-You promised."I whispered curling up into a ball.
*Dream over*
I shot up from my sleep with tears coming down my face."You promised."I whispered.I looked out the window to see the sun was rising.I got up from my bed and walked to the dresser where I kept the note,Kevin wrote me before he died.
*Letter*
Dear Emily,
Today was interesting.There was this little prank going on at the base.It was a prank that got us all in trouble but it was a prank.Anyways I miss you so much and I can't wait to see you next week.Today might be my last day...I don't know because you never know what to expect from the army.I can't wait to see the baby.My money is on a boy but I will love him/her equally if the baby is a girl.I can't wait to hold you in my arms again.Everyday I want to get over with so I can see you again.If you get this note I want you to know that I love you so much and I can't wait to see you.

Before I could stop them tears ran down my face and onto the letter.I put the letter back into the drawer and sat back onto the bed.He was coming back a week later.A week.I got up and walked to Arabella's room.I opened the door to see she was still asleep.She was holding the bear,Johnny bought her.That was the happiest I had seen her since Johnny and Kevin were first deployed.I walked back to my room and sat on the bed."Bye bye mystic falls."I whispered to nothing.I grabbed my suitcase and started packing my clothes.I don't really shop for that much clothes so I finished packing really quickly.Arabella needed help anyways.She doesn't eat and sometimes wants to physically hurt herself.It started happening after Johnny died and she started getting bullied and when the attacks for me started.
"Johnny don't go."I heard and my head whipped to the door."Johnny...what about Emily.What about me."I heard and started inching closer to the door.I realized the voice belongs to Arabella."I don't want to see this!Make it go away.Please."I heard her say.I ran to her room and started shaking her."Wake up Ara.Wake up."I said shaking her shoulders vigorously.She shot up and looked at me with tears coming down her face."I saw it...I saw how they died."She whispered with tears streaming down her face."They were...They were in a helicopter and-and someone shot the engine.They-They were going down r-really fast and there w-was a giant ex-explosion.Make it go away,Emily.Please."She said still crying and I hugged her.I couldn't help the tears that fell down my face.I have to stay strong.For Arabella.For Kevin."Don't worry,Ara.Everything will be ok soon."I said soothingly."Come on,get up.Time to pack."I said and she pulled away from me.She got up and walked into the bathroom.I walked back to my room and finished putting all of my stuff in boxes.I took a shower,brushed my teeth and put on some jeans,an army shirt,converses and my dog tags.I walked downstairs and saw Arabella looking like she was going to throw up.
Arabella p.o.v
"Hey you ok?"I heard Emily say and I looked at her."Yeah Em.I'm fine.Just fine."I lied putting my head on the counter."You sure,because we can always move tomorrow."Emily said sitting next to me."Yeah I'm sure."I said sighing.Ok maybe I'm not fine.I mean I just saw my boyfriend and my sister's boyfriend die."Did you finish packing your stuff?"Emily said and I nodded.I didn't really want that much stuff so it took me only about half an hour to pack."Ok,Ara.I'll be back in a couple minutes."Emily said and got up and walked away.I still remember Johnny's last words to me.'I'll always love you,even if you don't love me.I'll miss you so much.'.When I heard that he was dead I didn't think I'll ever be the same again.I didn't think I would ever love again.He told me to forget him but I couldn't."Arabella go get your stuff,it's time to go."I heard Emily say.I got up from my seat and went to my room.
I grabbed my suitcase and a couple small boxes with my pictures and valuable belongings in it.I walked downstairs and put my stuff in the truck.I got in the passenger side and waited for Emily."Do you think everything will get better?"I asked quietly."I hope so."She answered and started the car.You had no idea how much she was right.
