Susan Charming

Susan's POV

Mondays are probably the worst days in history. You have to start going back to school for the week, the weekend is over, and the stupid alarm clock. I mean, really? Who needs to wake up at 5:30 in the morning. Me apparently. The brightside, I guess, is that I have a great teacher. Ms. Autumn Blanchard. She, as well as my friends, Veronica, Gloria, Faith and Hope always seem to make school a little more bearable. Then there was my little bro, Henry. He himself was a beacon of happiness. Though, one complaint I do have about him is his book of fairytales. He kept going on and on about how I was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, and our adoptive mother, Regina Mills the Mayor, was the Evil Queen, who apparently curse every fairytale character by taking away their happily ever afters. And on days like Monday, I kinda believe it. "Sue. Sue. Susan. Suzzie." I groaned, looking up from my homework to see Henry sitting across the booth from me. The sound of talking always seemed to fill Granny's Diner, but with Henry talking, it's like we're sitting in a ghost town.

"What's up, little bro? I'm kinda busy here." I said, motioning my homework.

"I have a request for you and Ruth." The young boy said with a smirk. I sighed.

"What kind of request?"

"I want you to come on a trip with me." Henry said. A teen girl with brown hair and blue eyes set down two mugs of hot cocoa with whipped cream and cinnamon.

"Make that three, Ally. Something tells me that we'll be having a guest." I said to the girl. Ally gave me a smile.

"Coming right up, Sue." She said, before turning and walking away. I gave Henry a look, taking a sip of my hot cocoa.

"Why now?" I asked.

"Because I found my birth mother." I look at Henry with wide eyes as I place my cocoa down. I lean towards Henry, giving him a glare.

"What are you thinking, looking for her. She gave you up ten years ago wanting nothing to do with you."

"She gave me up to give me my best chance. Come on, she's your sister!"

"What are you talking about?" I growl slightly.

"Henry, Susan, is everything ok?" I turn to see a woman with blonde hair and green eyes.

"Ruth!" Henry cheered. He patted the seat next to him, causing Ruth to sit down.

"What's going on?" Ruth asked as Ally placed a mug in front of her. "Thanks, Al." Ruth said, handing Ally some money.

"Me and Sue are going on a trip, and we need a supervisor." Henry said. I looked at Ruth.

"We're not going on a trip."

"Where would we be going? It can't be very far, since I don't have a car." Ruth said. I sighed and face palmed as Henry cheered.

"You'd be a horrible mother." I said giving Ruth a deadpanned look. "Your kids would get away with everything."

"And that's a bad thing?" She turned to Henry. "Where are we going anyways, kid?"

"Boston." Ruth looked at Henry with wide eyes.

"Kid, we're in Maine. Driving to Boston alone takes somewhere around 6 hours. And like I said before, I don't have a car."

"I've already thought of that. Please Ruth. It's my mom."

"What does the Mayor have to do with this?"

"Not her, his birth mother, apparently." I said. Ruth sighed and looked at Henry.

"Kid..."

"Please! They're your two's sisters." Henry said, looking at me and Ruth. Oh yeah. There's that thing too. Apparently in Henry's storybook, me and Ruth are sisters with two other sisters. Or something.

"Is this about your book again?" Ruth asks. Henry nods and pulls out his book, showing it to us. He opened to a page with a three babies, a man, and three women. The babies all looked similar, with two having blonde hair and one having brown. The man had brown hair and greyish-blue eyes. Then the three women. They, like the babies, looked similar, though not alike. The oldest had black hair and greyish-green eyes. The next woman had blonde hair with greyish-blue eyes. The last woman, who was more like a teen had brown hair and green eyes. Henry pointed to the teen girl, looking at me.

"That's you, Susan." Henry then turns to Ruth, pointing at one of the blonde hair babies. "That's you, Ruth." He pointed to the other blonde baby. "That's my mom, Emma Swan." He then pointed to the last baby. "And that's your sister, Eva Swan. As far as I know, she's with my mom." Ruth sighed, looking at me.

"Alrighty, then." Ally came back, holding a plate with a cupcake on it. The cupcake had a purple star candle. Ruth smiled softly as Ally placed the cupcake in front of her, lighting the candle.

"Happy birthday, Ruth!" She said.

"Thanks, Ally. Another banner year." I grabbed Ruth's hand, giving her a small smile. Ruth turned back to her candle, closed her eyes and made a wish as she blew out the candle.

***Time Skip, 3rd POV***

At an upscale restaurant, a woman by the name of Emma Swan, was looking for her date. A man, Ryan, stands up. "Emma."

"Ryan? You look relieved." Emma said as the two sit down.

"Well, it is the Internet. Pictures can be..."

"Fake. Out-dated. Stolen from the Victoria's Secret catalogue. So..."

"So... tell me something about yourself, Emma."

"Oh... Uh, well, today's my birthday."

"And you're spending it with me? What about your friends?"

"Kind of a loner."

"And... you don't like your family?"

"Besides my sister, no family to like."

"Aw. Come on, everyone has family."

Technically, yeah, but not everyone knows who they are. Ready to run yet?"

"Oh, not a chance. You, Emma, are, by far, the sexiest friendless orphan that I have ever met."

"Okay! Your turn. No, wait, let me guess. Um... you are handsome, charming..."

"Go on."

"The kind of guy who... and now, stop me if I get this wrong, embezzled from your employer, got arrested, and skipped town before they were able to throw your ass in jail."

"What?"

"And the worst part of all this is your wife. Your wife loves you so much that she bailed you out, and how do you repay that loyalty? You're on a date."

"Who are you?"

"The chick who put up the rest of the money."

"The bails bondsman."

"Bail bondsperson." Ryan flips the table and runs out of the restaurant, out into the street and to his car. Emma walks calmly after him. Ryan gets into his car and starts it, but it goes nowhere. He opens the door to discover that his car has been booted. Emma walks up.

"You don't have to do this, okay? I can pay you, I've got money."

"No you don't. And if you did you should give it to your wife and take care of your family."

"The hell do you know about family, huh?" She slams his head against the steering wheel, saying nothing.

***Time Skip***

Emma walked into her apartment, kicking of her heels. "Welcome back. So... how'd it go?" Her sister, Eva Swan, asked.

"It could've gone better." Emma said promptly. Eva walked into the kitchen as Emma placed her bag on the bar.

"Would a birthday cupcake make things better?" Eva said, holding a plate with two cupcakes on it. The cupcakes each had a star candle on them, one blue and one green. Emma sighed, and gave Eva a smile as she grabbed the cupcake with the blue candle. Eva lights both the candles, standing next to her sister. Each girl looked at their candle, a feeling of emptiness and loneliness looming over the room.

"Another banner year..." Emma said, sorrowly. Eva grabbed her hand, giving her a small smile. Both girls turned back to their candles, closed their eyes and made a wish as they blew out the candles. There's a knock on the door and both sisters looked at eachother. "Expecting someone?" Emma asked. Eva shook her head, walking to the door. When she opened the door, she saw three people. Two girls and one boy.

"Uh... can I help you?" Eva asked.

"Are you Eva Swan?" The boy asked. Eva looked confused, but nodded, causing the boy to sigh in relief. "Is Emma here?" Eva turned to her sister in the other room. Emma gave Eva a look of confusion, causing Eva to shrug and shake her head. Emma walked over, looking to the boy.

"I am. Who are you?"

"My name's Henry. I'm your son."

"Way to be subtle." Susan said, looking at Henry. She turned to Emma. "You have food?" Emma and Eva both blinked, and Henry took this time to walk in.

"Whoa, hey, kid! Kid! I don't have a son! Where are your parents?" Emma walked after Henry as Eva turned to Ruth.

"Are these your kids?"

"Uh... no." Susan rolled her eyes, walking after Emma and Henry, followed by Eva and Ruth.

"Ten years ago, did you give up a baby for adoption? That was me." Henry told Emma. Emma froze for a moment.

"Give me a minute." Emma leaves, immediately followed by Eva.

"Real subtle." Susan said, giving Henry a look. Henry just shrugged and made his way to the refrigerator. Ruth looked around, spotting Eva and Emma's cupcakes, before looking out the window.

"Nice view." She then spotted an armchair, but it wasn't the chair that caught her eye, but the blankets on them. Both were white wool blankets, but one had a purple ribbon with the name Emma knitted into it and the other had a pink ribbon with the name Eva knitted into it. She looked at them in confusion, and reach out to grab one when Henry spoke up.

"Hey, do you have any juice?" Ruth quickly looked at Henry, retrieving her hand back, as she watch him and Susan ransack the refrigerator. "Never mind, found some." Ruth shook her head and looked back at the blankets as Emma and Eva walked back in. "You know, we should probably get going."

"Going where?" Emma asked.

"I want you two to come home with us."

"Okay, kid, we're calling the cops." Eva said, pulling out her phone.

"And I'll tell them you kidnapped me." Henry said with a cheeky smirk. Emma sighed.

"And they'll believe you because I'm your birth mother." Emma said, as Eva put up her phone.

"Yep."

"You're not gonna do that." Eva said, crossing her arms.

"Try me." Henry said. Emma crouched down to his level.

"You're pretty good, but here's the thing. There's not a lot we're great at in life, but we have one skill. It's called a 'superpower'. We can tell when anyone is lying, and you, kid, are."

"Wait. Please don't call the cops. Please come home with me." Emma sighed, and looked at Eva, who quickly shook her head.

"Where's home?" Emma asked Henry.

"Storybrooke, Maine." Susan said. Emma looked at Susan with bewilderment as Eva groaned.

"Storybrooke? Seriously?" Emma asked. Ruth nodded. "Alrighty, then. Let's get you back to Storybrooke."

***Time Skip, Susan's POV***

We all sat in Emma's car, with Emma and Eva up front and me, Henry and Ruth in the back. "I'm hungry. Can we stop somewhere?" Henry asked.

"This is not a road trip; we're not stopping for snacks." Eva said.

"Why not?"

"Quit complaining, kid. Remember, we could've put your butts on a bus; we still could. If you were really that hungry, you should of asked your babysitter to bring food."

"I'm no babysitter." Ruth said.

"You know, I have a name? It's Henry." It was silent for a moment as Henry looked at his book. Emma motioned to it.

"What's that?"

"I'm not sure you're ready." Henry said.

"Ready for some fairy tales?" Emma asked.

"They're not fairy tales. They're true. Every story in this book actually happened."

"Of course they did." Eva said, giving a joking look to Emma.

"Use your superpower. See if I'm lying."

"Just because you believe something doesn't make it true."

"That's exactly what makes it true. You should know more than anyone."

"Why's that?"

"Because you're all in this book."

"Ok, kid. You've got problems."

"Yup. And you're going to fix them."
