My head pounded as I forced myself to open one eye, I was scared of what I would see. But all I saw was darkness.

The more I squinted, the more I could make out; all around me I could see vague shapes of bodies and like any person in my position I believed they were all dead. But as I strained my ears to listen for any sign of life, I could hear the slow breathing of the people around me.

At first I wanted to scream, but it was like my throat was slowly closing in on itself. The only thing I could do was sit in the darkness of the room and pray someone would wake up and tell me what was going on.

Tell me how I ended up there, sleeping in a room full of people I didn't know.

Tell me how I was saved from my doomed fate.

Tell me what I was supposed to do.

And most importantly, tell me what was going on.

So this is the beginning- eek I'm so excited to write this! SciFi and me have a very close connection, so I thought why not just combine it with my other passion- fanfiction!
