Two Weeks Later

I was bent over the toilet, throwing up the contents of my stomach while Niall stroked my hair slowly. It was becoming a regular occurrence, I would wake up every morning and feel like my stomach was a washing machine- constantly churning.

"Morning sickness isn't very nice," I mumbled and Niall laughed loudly, sitting down on the cold tiles of the bathroom. We had secretly swapped rooms so Zara and Adam were together and finally I was back with Niall.

Standing up with shaky legs, I wiped my mouth and proceeded to brush my teeth, trying to get rid of the acidic, grotesque taste in my mouth. Sweat had made my hair stick to my forehead, and I generally looked like a mess but I was past caring at the point.

Looking down at Niall, I smiled slightly but there was still some sadness that came when we were together. Neither of us had confronted our feelings since that day that Lance interrupted us, neither of us had the courage.

After showering and getting dressed I was about to leave the room when the door was flung open by none other than Lance. I was glad that Niall had already left, we didn't want anyone to know that we had switched roommates.

"Hey Dara, looking good today!" He smirked and I shifted uncomfortably under his intimidating stare, "I wanted to talk to you since you missed the last training sessions."

I gulped loudly as he mentioned my missed training sessions, I had only attended one and I hated every second of it. Just the feeling of a gun in my hand felt so wrong and I wasn't able to continue. I didn't even know why I needed to know how to fire a gun- who were we fighting?

"We told the newbies about our plight yesterday, seeing as we trust you now. We are set on wiping out the mutants, which is why you need to attend some training sessions so you know how to kill them," I wasn't shocked by his words, I should have predicted it already to be honest.

"Ok..." I replied, not quite sure why he had come into my room to tell me such unimportant news.

"Also Dara," at the point he closed the door meaning we were trapped together, "I just wanted to let you know that you're really hot."

I almost choked on the air- this was out of the blue! Where had these words come from?

"You know, most people wouldn't look twice at you but I think you've got something so averagely special that I'm very attracted to you," he spoke with such arrogant confidence that I wanted to slap him. How dare he give me a backhanded compliment? Was he even complimenting me?

"You know what, Lance- I don't care. I don't find you attractive one bit," I walked over to him, pointing my finger, I was not in the mood for Lance's stupid behaviour, "I will never like you. I never want to be with anyone like you."

Walking out, I heard him call loudly, "You playing hard to get just makes me want you more!"

I ignored his childish words and instead went to breakfast, trying to clear my mind after the hectic morning. Was Lance just messing with me as some cruel joke? It seemed like something he would do. He acted like he was the king and we were his lowly peasants.

Walking into the large canteen, my eyes scanned the room until my eyes fell on Niall's angelic face and I stood there for a while just to admire him. He was talking with some of the people who were at the base before us, he could socialise with anyone. He was the life of any social situation.

Zara beckoned me to her where she was sitting with Adam, both of them were smiling like idiots. They were so in love.

"Stop staring, you look like a creep," she whispered in my ear and I laughed nervously, adjusting my hair and clothes as I noticed Niall look at me. He waved slightly and I waved back, looking stupid in doing so. Zara erupted into laughter and Adam just grinned like a maniac- he obviously knew something I didn't.

Grabbing my bagel, I went to go sit down with Zara and Adam, still smiling like an idiot. My whole encounter with Lance was forgotten, it had completely gone over my head. I shouldn't have believed that Lance would forget about it as easily as I had.

Oooohh what's Lance going to do now?? We'll just have to wait and see!!
