Aphmau's POV

The Next Day...

We're all taken to training. I get a glare from Gene and Sasha, but not from anybody else. Everyone else seems to ignore me and continue with their training. I mean, who wouldn't? There isn't much to look at, I'm just me. Kenmur and I start trying to come up with a plan.

"Get allies." Kenmur repeats, reminding himself of what we have to do. 

"By the looks of some of these people, we'll need allies to survive." I mumble for only us to hear. 

Kenmur nods, then we branch off into the training area. I search the room to see a boy with brown hair and a girl with fiery hair. I walk over to them, they look pretty nice. The boy is shooting arrows and the girl is mixing minerals and plants together. 

"Hi. I'm Aphmau. You must be Laurance and Cadenza." I introduce myself. 

I can tell who they are because the number of their district plastered on their back. They both direct their attention to me, the boy lowering his bow. 

"You're right." The boy smiles. 

He gently places the bow on the floor, then walks over to me. The girl walks over to me. She puts her hand out, greeting me in a handshake. 

I hesitantly take it, "I'm Cadenza." She smiles. 

"Aphmau." I state. She walks over to her brother, pulling him closer to me, "Should we become an alliance?" I ask. 

Cadenza and Laurance look at each other, then they both look at me. Laurance smiles, "Sure." He replies. 

I glance at Kenmur, who's talking to a girl with red hair. She has a big '4' plastered on her back and shoulders. 

"Well, we better get back to training. We'll see you later?" Cadenza questions. 

I nod, smiling, then walk off to a girl with red hair and a girl with blue hair. The girl with blue hair has a '3' on her clothing, then the girl with red hair has a '9' on her. 

"Hi, uhh.. I'm Aphmau." I start. 

The girl from district 3 has a mace in her palms. She's slashing a dummy into bits. The girl with red hair puts down her swords, then looks at me. 

"Are you lost?" She snaps, rather harshly. 

"No." I state. 

She looks me up and down, then smirks, "I'm Nicole." She puts her hand out. 

I shake it, then look at the girl with blue hair, "And that's Katelyn." She continues. 

Katelyn glances at me then drops her mace. We start to talk, then stop once we become allies. The two of them get back to training, so I start walking around more. Suddenly, I'm pushed to the wall. I look at the person in front of me. It's a boy. He's from District 10. 

"Zenix Shadow, I'm assuming?" I smirk, noticing his district number and hair color. 

"How'd you know?" He releases my shoulders. 

I poke him on the shoulder where the 10 is. He glances at it, then back at me, "Aphmau Obsidian. Quick a tongue twister if I do say so myself." Zenix says. 

"I know. Even took me a while to get the hang of." I reply. 

He chuckles. We click instantly, and start talking until Kenmur walks up with the same girl from earlier. The girl has a boy with black hair with her. Zenix and I turn around. 

"Aphmau, this is Kiki and her brother Brendan. They'll be allies." Kenmur introduces. 

"This is Zenix." I motion to him. Zenix waves.

I tell him the allies I've made, then we're called out. I notice a boy with black hair and dark eyes starring at me. Him and I make eye contact, then he quickly averts, running out of the room along with his district. He was from district 8. Or, at least his shirt said so. Once we reach the lunch hall, Katelyn, Nicole, Zenix, Kenmur and I sit at a table. Laurance is with a boy from District 1 and District 3. Once has blonde hair and the other has brown. The other boy at their table has blue hair. He's from District 5. I see a rather furry guy in the back. He has a girl with light brown hair surrounding him. Kiki and Brendan are also there with them. I finish examining the room, then start poking at my food. Cadenza sits down with us. I excuse myself, then rush to the restroom. I can hear someone following me. Once I get into the restroom, I'm instantly pinned to the wall. My vision clears then I see a girl with pale skin, white hair and violet eyes. 

"Sasha White." I grumble 

"Aphmau Obsidian." She replies. 

"District Eleven.." I read off of her shirt. 

"Twelve." She says. 

"What do you want, Sasha?" I question. 

"For you to be dead." She growls. 

"At least one of us is going to die. If not, both. I don't see what the point is. We're in the Hunger Games, in five days, we'll all be in the arena. By the end of this month, 23 of us will be dead." I explain.

"I don't need your logic. I've seen the Games enough to know the rules." Sasha continues.

"Hopefully it'll be me who wins. And me who gets to kill you. I am a Shadow Knight after all." She smirks, removing her hands from my shoulders. 

"I can tell that you want me dead, but now isn't the time to do it. We're not in the arena yet. When we're there, you can kill whoever you want. I wouldn't waste it on killing me. Not just yet." I say, then walk out of the restroom. 

"Hey! I'm not done with you!" I hear Sasha complain as I shut the door in her face. Steam is practically flowing from my ears. 

I turn around and see a demented guy trying to comfort her. I think it's Gene Ocean from District 11. Brother of Dante Ocean, from District Five. Gene glares at me, so I walk away, averting eye contact as much as possible. I feel someone grab my hand. I turn around swiftly and raise my fist. I lower them as I see a boy with blonde hair and teal eyes. Garroth Ro'Meave, District 1.

 "What do you want, Garroth?" I question. 

"Already know my name, I see?" He replies. 

"I'm observant. Now, answer my question. What do you want?" I repeat myself. 

"You, baby." He inches closer to me. 

I push him away, his hand leaving my wrist, "Don't even bother trying." I growl. 

He groans a bit as he rolls on the ground. I walk away, with all eyes on me. I don't care what the others think, we'll be in the arena in days, it's not like it's going to matter soon. I sit down at the same table as earlier, then continue to talk with everyone else. I find the same boy from District 8 starring at me. I think his name is Aaron Mayeh. He turns his head quickly. I shrug it off, then continue talking to everyone. I have a good feeling about this group. Maybe one of us could actually win the games! Luckily, we still have a few more days until the arena, which gives us time to train and make more allies. Like I said, one of us is likely to win the games. Arena, bring it on.
