Chapter 3

When I woke up, I was still in his arms. He opened his eyes, noticing me moving slightly. "Morning," he whispered. I turned towards him, my face nearly touching his. "Did you get up in the middle of the night to move me here?" I asked, smiling. "Maybe," he smirked. "Are you feeling better?" I questioned. He adjusted his position. "I feel better around you," he grunted. Then he sat up. "We need to leave now. We can't stay here. I don't want to have to worry about this anymore," he explained.

I sat up and pulled my legs to my chest. "But where would we go? Where is a place safe enough? The war is still present," I explained. He ran his fingers through my hair. "Where there is war, there will be peace. We'll find somewhere," he answered. He held me close to him and then he got up. "I'll pilot us out of here, alright?" He asked. I nodded and sat in the opposite seat. He thought I wouldn't notice him wincing as he slid into his seat, but I decided to keep quiet. He put on the headset and started up the ship. "Requesting to leave Rebel Base." He said into the headset. "Request denied. I have orders to keep you here until your next mission, Captain Andor," replied the voice. Cassian shook his head, not answering. "Did you hear me, Captain Andor?" The voice asked. "Oh I heard you, I'm just not following your orders," Cassian responded, flying the ship out of the hangar. "Disobeying orders...." the voice began.

But Cassian interrupted him: "I understand. Tell Mon Mothma that I don't care what she says. My loyalty is still to the rebellion, but I rather not go through this again." The voice crackled as the frequency between them broke. "But..." Was the last we heard of him. "Do you really think this a good idea? Leaving? It's just us and we could be easy targets," I warned him. He shrugged, flying through the atmosphere. "More fun for us, right?" He chuckled. I smiled noticing that he was positive despite the situation. "Do you think the war will ever end?" I asked, looking at him. Once he entered hyperspace, he turned towards me. He no longer seemed fatigued or in pain. His smile warmed me. "All wars end eventually, Jyn," he replied. "Not this one. This war will never end," I cried. He reached over and wiped away my tears with his finger. "It will. You'll see. And I'll be there with you to say that I told you so," he explained.

"So...where are we going?" I asked, taking his hand. "I'm planning on going towards Tatooine. It's controlled by the Empire, but it's very easy to blend in there," he responded. "What's it like? What do the people there specialize in?" I asked. "Moisture farming. It's an interesting place, just wait till we get there," he informed me. After the trip through hyperspace, we approached a planet with a sand covered terrain. "This is Tatooine?" I questioned, moving up in my seat to get a better look. "Indeed," he responded. The ship landed on a platform amidst the bustling city of traders and sellers. He took his headset off and stood up. "Ready?" He asked. I took a deep breath in. "Ready,"
