A Favor.
The sun peeks from behind the mountain as it slowly makes it's climb. The sky a beaming orange hue. The grass lush green and thick, softening the slightest sound of my footsteps. Birds chirp, bringing awareness that another day has begun. I as usual make way through the forest without the slightest crunch of leaves. My ears pricked up analyzing sounds; chirping birds, blowing winds, and the faint drop of water falling from a leaf. Then, *SNAP*. My ears turn my head to face the direction of snapping twigs. I stalk swiftly and quietly through the foliage. I had no problem with disappearing into the shadows.
The snapping twigs begins to grow louder and louder as I push forth. Then through the brush I see it. A large female white-tailed deer. I decide to attack from above, and dig my claws deep into bark and climb up the canopy. I use the branches for cover to remain unseen and position myself. The deer slowly comes towards the tree eating a small patch of grass, unsuspecting of the creature hovering above her. Waiting for the moment to strike, savoring for the meal to come. I crouch, ready to pounce. Then only a few feet away stumbling through the leaves was her fawn.
An unclean kill. I sigh with disappointment having lost a meal. I remain in the canopy till the small family moves on. Live free little one. I think to myself. I leap down and head towards the river.
Spring is here, but food is still scarce. I may have to leave this area. I thought to myself. That deer was coming from the western ridge, maybe herds are coming down from the mountains? I'll have to head north to the edge of the forest line. I continue piecing together some kind of plan to increase my chances of survival. With spring here food will start replenishing and with that...bring forth competition. I breach into a small opening among the trees, the river cutting right in the middle of it. I do a brief scan of the area, nothing out of the ordinary thus potentially no danger. I come to the edge and cup hands together for a drink. Once I've quenched my thirst, I look back at the water as the ripples dissipate. I see a black mass. A muscular body with smokey-colored skin, and black fur with nearly visible rosettes. Large black pointed ears and slight dirtied streaks of white stemming from my forehead down to my back. Dark tattered forest camouflaged combat trousers. The only thing possessing any color of life was the hot coals that are my eyes. I growl disgusted by the beast I see. I hated what the river mirrored. Knowing this was anything, but natural causes, a result of someone's belief that they could play God. My nose starts twitching catching the scent of smoke. Fire. I swing my head to the direction and dart through the brush. After a few mins of searching I a locate a cache of weapons hidden at the base of a tree trunk. Armed with a M4A1 rifle, sidearm, handcrafted melee weapons and armor, I cautiously make my way to the scent fire. I stop in my tracks.
"If you're going to sneak up on me, better to do it downwind." I say.
A girl steps out of the brush. Wearing fishnet stockings, a black distressed jean skirt, and lastly a black leather jacket with red roses with bloody eyes in the base of the petals, very much open displaying her cleavage. Half of her head shaved. Giving her a punk rock style. Her skin light brown with dark black spots splattered across her body. A female hyena hybrid, but not just a random one. The clan leader, Aisha.
"Well it sure as Hell took you long enough," She says with a scowl. "Been waiting here for almost a whole damn hour."
"I have alot on my plate at the moment now what do you want?" I ask her with a raised eyebrow.
She let's out a sigh and stares at me with pure fury in her eyes, due to a history of past conflicts from time to time between us.
"I need a favor." She asks, with a pleading look.
