As I opened my eyes to be greeted by the blinding light of dawn. I hissed and crawled backwards into the shadows while covering my eyes. I heard a few yelps and a weird howl to my left and turned around with lightning speed in fear of it being an attacker. I relaxed a bit when I realised it was only one of the cubs Night gave birth to. Yes, her name is Night. I smiled at the little thing and grabbed it by the scruff and carried him back to her. She was chuckling slightly and I smiled.

'Thank you for taking care of me and my cubs, Craig'

My eyes widened slightly.

'How do you know my real name?'

'I know a lot of things...'

'Well then you should know that I hate answers that do not explain shit'

'Watch your language around the kids'

She snickered.

I just rolled my eyes and pulled out another bit of food from my backpack with some water. I emptied it into 2 separate bowls and pushed them near her. She smiled gratefully at me while digging into the food. My eyes widened and I froze as I felt something wet and soft touch my hand. I looked down only to see Ghost licking my fingers.

'Don't do that, you don't need to get ill this early'

Night chuckled and Ghost had a confused look on his face.

'He likes you'

'Wha-? He does?'

'Yea'

I wiped my fingers on my hoodie and stood up.

'Night, Get some rest, I'll go to 2 of the nearest buildings to try and find food, don't worry, I'm gonna come back before dusk'

She gave me a nod before turning her attention back to her kids.

As I swiftly jumped to the nearest tree, I heard whimpering, but not infected whimpering and groaning. It sounded so... Human.

I silently perched on the branch above the window and peeked into the dark room. What I saw made a tear roll down my cheek.

"We're gonna get through this. Come on baby."

"I-I Can't..."

"Please, Please don't leave me now..."

"....I-Im S-sorr-sorry..."

"No.... No! Not now! Please!"

It was clear that one of the two people was infected. And was turning. Faster every minute. I didn't want to be a witness of a horrible death... This is the worst death imaginable.

I couldn't watch any more....

I jumped through the window and the person seemed to gasp and hold out a battered pistol that could still do damage.

"W-who's T-There?!"

"Hey, calm down, Im not going to hurt you...."

"NO! You will hurt me, US! I don't trust anybody since the... Incident."

"I....."

Should I really say this?

"I... can help..."

"HOW?! There is no cure. NO CURE! Only an immune can help, and thats a one in a million chance!"

"Im...."

Here goes nothing...

"Im... an Immune..."

The world seemed to freeze as it was deathly silent. One of my hands was pressed against my chest, my head still hanging low, covered by my hood.

I heard the safety of the gun click and the guy put his arm down. The other guy was passed out on the floor surrounded by blankets.

I switched my gaze back to the floor.

"We have to hurry, he will.... you get the idea, right?"

I saw the guy nod out of the corner of my eye and I walked up to the one lying on the floor, only to be stopped by a strong arm on my shoulder.

"I'll carry him"

I gave a nod and lead him the way to our temporary camp.

"This is our temporary camp. We moved from our old one."

"Our? You mean, there are more people?"

"Not really..."

"Then what do you mean by 'we'?"

"Me and... uhh, well, a wolf called Night, and her cubs."

"I see..."

As we arrived at our destination, I halted him.

'Hey Night. We have visitors who need our help, so be chill, okay?'

I heard a feminine chuckle.

'Sure'

"uhhh..."

I scratched the back of my head.

"Dude, that's awesome.... Teach us?"

I chuckled a bit. 

"Maybe..."

As we reached the upper floor where my camp was situated, the guy placed the bit dude on the pile of blankets I already had there for Night in emergency. I walked a few steps away and opened a drawer to find the exact type of chemical I need and a syringe. Bingo.  I walked back into the other room.

I used a glass beaker to measure out exactly 100ml of the needed chemical and stabbed myself with the syringe, extracting enough blood for a doze.

I mixed the two liquids together.

The guy looked at me as I motioned him to step aside. He did as he was told and I kneeled next to the infected guy. I took his arm and inserted the syringe under his flesh. I pushed on the top and the liquid ran into his body. I took out the syringe and stood up.

"Give him a few minutes...."

"....Thank you... And... Who are you?"

"Just call me Mini...."

"Call me Gassy, but I really don't mind if you call me Max"

The guy smiled and held out his hand. I shook it.

"And the guy you just saved... His name is Ze, or Steven. Or rather say, my boyfriend."

I smiled at him.

"Im happy for you two guys. Glad I was able to help."

He seemed to look surprised.

"No one we ever met supported us. But an immune guy who speaks telepathy and wolf supports us. This must be a dream..."

I chuckle as I hear coughing behind Max.

"Well looks like Ze is awake... Go talk to him"

"Thank you for everything you have done. How can we ever repay you?"

"Just stay out of trouble and I will give you a head start..."

I walked over to my backpack and pulled out an M16 and another silenced pistol. 

"Here, use these as defence..."

He looked like he was about to burst with happiness. Suddenly, I felt the air being squeezed out of me. He pulled me into a bone-crunching hug. 

"Max... Need... Air."

He let go and smiled sheepishly at the floor as I patted his back. 

"Go talk to your lover, he needs you right now..."

He walked towards Ze with a small smile on his lips....
