I tapped my foot, waiting for Louis and assim to get back from hunting.
I guess I could call myself a worrier and a little overprotective but I just wanted him to be okay.
I paced on the little tower that let me see past the tree line.
I saw movement and my heart rate picked up.
I saw running and Louis and assim came bounding for the gates.
I opened the gates quickly and let them in. I jumped down and ran to Louis to make sure he was okay.
I saw Ruby run to assim to hug him.
I covered Louis with my body as he hugged me back.
I pulled away and looked him over.
"Are you okay?" I asked cupping his face with my hands.
He winced and I saw him grab his forearm.
I saw blood trickle down his hand and I yanked the coat away from his wound.
I gasped and back up.
"You.... you didn't.... you couldn't have." I started to cry. Worry flooded my entire body.
I started to hyperventilate as tears flooded out of my eyes.
I looked at the gashing bite mark in his arm.
"Holy hell." I sobbed out.
"Hey, look at me." Louis cooed.
I looked into his eyes as I continued to heave breaths out of my lungs.
"Hey hey. Calm down! A walker just couldn't help but want to take a bite of the sweet and good looking Louis." He smiled and puffed his jacket.
I let out a light laugh and hugged him.
"We have to tell Ruby. She has to cut your arm off."
Louis's eyes went wide.
"No. No no. She can't. I won't be able to play anymore!"
"Lou, you'll die if you don't!"
"I'd rather die then be held back from playing."
My eyes widened in shock.
"You'd rather DIE then be held back from doing one thing?"
"Playing is my life! I can't give it up."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"I'm not gonna let you die." I scolded.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him over to Ruby.
"Ruby. Louis has to loose his arm." I told her.
"Did he get bit?" She asked.
"Yes. But he's not dying. No matter how much he fights. He can not die." I told Ruby.
She looked at me and then Louis who started to tear up.
"Ruby." I pulled her attention back to me. "I can't loose him."
"Come with me." She said pulling me aside.
Ruby and I walked into a room and she asked me what was wrong.
"Louis doesn't want to get his arm cut off. He said he'd rather die then not be able to play. But I can not loose him."
She looked at me with sympathy.
"Well... I don't know how I'm going to do it with Louis restraining."
"Try as hard as possible... please Ruby! Think of it as like loosing assim to a bite."
She gave a shocked look and dropped her expression.
"That would kill me inside."
"I know. So please... try as hard as possible." I grabbed her hand and begged.
"I promise."
I sighed with relief and let go of her hand.
We walked out of the room and Louis walked off with Ruby.
As soon as I saw them disappear into the medical room I walked to Louis's room.
I grabbed an extra shirt that he had and I held it close to me. I inhaled his scent and laid on his bed.
Silent tears fell down my cheek and onto his bed.
God. Please let him be okay...
I fell asleep to the sound of my sniffles and woke up later that night.
It was dark and nothing but candle light lit up the school.
Ruby ran into me and I jumped.
"Oh my god Ruby you scared me!"
I tried to calm my heart rate.
"How's Louis doing?" I remember.
"He's doing good. It took a while for me to get him to do it but I convinced him."
"What took him to do it?"
She smiled and said "let's just say there was something that he couldn't give up even if it meant giving up his music."

*Flashback*
"Come on Louis! I have to!"
Louis squirmed from Ruby's grasp.
"Louis! You're gonna die! Let me do it!"
Louis wriggled his arm as ruby held the axe to his arm.
"Louis! I'm gonna do it wrong! Hold still!"
"NO! I don't want to! I'll never be able to play again!"
"If you don't do this, you'll never be able to see y/n again." I scolded.
His face softened.
"I-i never thought of that."
"Well she did." Ruby replied
"What do you mean?"
"When I was with y/n in that room. She begged me to take your arm off because she doesn't want to loose you. She was only thinking about what was best for you. She wants you to be alive because she can't live without you. You're all she has now. She loves you with all she has."
Louis looked at his arm. He held it out for her to grab it.
"Do it. I love her with all I have too."
Ruby lifted the axe and slammed it down.
Louis screamed and repeated "I love you." To himself as she bandaged him up. He did it for her.
