Ring made of wire
"Y/n? Can I talk to you for a minute?" Louis asked after dinner.
I nodded and put my bowl away as Louis took my hand.
We walked hand in hand to the farther part of the courtyard.
"Y/n I wanted to ask you something. Something really important."
My heart dropped as I felt like I knew what was coming.
"Y/n. I know this ramble is gonna take forever and I'm most likely gonna cry, but I can't wait anymore. I know we are still in a shit storm, but I couldn't be happier because I'm with you. Every night that I worry if I'm gonna love another day, that fear goes away because then I'm washed over with a calm because I know that if I die, I'd die happy. I'd die with you." Louis's lip started to quiver and his hands started to shake "I couldnt ever take you for granted and I thought you were actually an angel when you came here. I thought for sure you'd leave or at least hate me when you came, but you gave me a chance. That's the only thing I needed. You're the only thing I ever needed.
I always played a front of hope and joy, but inside I was just as hopeless as everyone else. Then you came in and you were joy through and through."
I started to feel tears prick my eyes as he continued to bless me.
"Long rant short, you are everything to me and I couldn't let you go. I know we are young but we may not be alive tomorrow so I want to do it now. Y/n m/n l/n, would you seriously make me the happiest man and fucking marry me."
I nodded as I let out a laughing sob.
He picked me up off my feet and wrapped his arms around me.
"I love you!" I cried.
"I love you too." He chuckled.
He put me down and reached for his coat pocket.
"Now I don't quite have an engagement ring that's like normal, but I made this." He pulled out a ring made of wire and put it on my finger "I'm sorry I couldn't give you an actual ring."
I shook my head
"No no no! It's okay! I love it!"
"Really?"
"Absolutely!"
He smiled as he looked at my hand and then at me.
"If only there was somewhere to actually travel for a honeymoon!"
I laughed and wrapped my arms around him again.
"I don't need one."
"You're too sweet."
He kissed my forehead and sat down. He pulled me onto his lap and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I'm glad I get to marry you."
I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I'm glad I get to marry you too."
