"What? Why?"
"I found an opportunity. While you were out, we made a plan. I'm going to go back to that place I was at and be a spy. But I won't be back for weeks, months even."
He stayed silent and furrowed his brows.
"I'm sorry. I have to take it. I have to. We could get such a big lead on them. And I'm used to being there. I know the place and I can blend in."
"It's dangerous."
"Life is dangerous now. I have to take this chance knowing it might help everyone here. We could seriously get ahead of them. They know nothing of us and we could know everything about them."
He looked hurt in his eyes. "I'm sorry, but I have to."
"You could die." His voice quivered.
"I know. I know the consequences."
"Okay." He sighed "I don't like it but I know why. I get that. I'm glad you're doing it."
"Really?"
"Really."
I smiled at him and thought of something.
"I wanted to give you something before I leave. I've been debating it for a while."
"What is it?"
I leaned down and pressed my lips to his softly.
He put a hand on the back of my neck and kissed me back with desperation.
I looked at him as I pushed myself away and he smiled.
"Wow." He breathily whispered "I'm glad that just happened."
"Good because I've wanted to do that forever."
It was quiet until he looked at me and put his hand on my cheek after brushing away a strand of hair.
"Will you stay with me tonight? I don't know if I'm ready to let you go." He asked quietly.
I nodded and he scooted over.
I laid down next to him and placed my head on his chest. I placed my hand on his heart and he sighed as he closed his eyes.
"I'll stay with you... always." I whispered to him as he started to drift off to sleep.
I felt his chest under me and his arm around my waist. I nuzzled into him and closed my eyes too.
I felt him settle in and fall asleep.
I soon fell asleep in the arms of the person I loved as well.
