"Louis! They are getting into the safe zone!" Assim shouted as he smashed in a rotting head.
"How are there is many?! I thought we already had our predicted big herd this month!"
"I guess not!"
Louis turned behind him to see Clem slash a walker in half with an axe.
"Nice one Clem!"
"Thanks." She replied as she huffed.
They were all caught up in keeping themselves alive that they almost missed the defenceless girl just outside the safe zone.
"Assim! Clem! Survivor at 3!"
Clem and Assim whipped over to see a girl struggling against a walker holding her down.
"Louis! Help!" Assims cry snapped him out of the stare he had on the girl.
Louis turned his head to see Assim being pushed against a tree. Assim held his axe in both hands across his chest as he tried to push the walker off of him.
Louis turned back to the girl who was now screaming. Her arms shook and she looked like she was about to give up.
"I'm sorry Assim!" Louis shouted before he ran to the helpless girl.
Louis raised his chair leg and thrusted it down as hard as he could.
The walker made a squishing sound as it fell to the ground beside the now terrified girl.
The girl looked over at the walker as blood poured out of it.
"It's okay. You're safe now, but let's get going." Louis spoke, getting the girls attention.
He offered his hand and she took it delicately.
Louis grabbed her and ran back into the safe zone with him.

Your POV
"Keep running! We are almost there!!" The boy shouted at me.
Almost where? I thought as I continued to run with him.
I looked down and realized I was holding his hand pretty tight.
I don't think I've ever held hands with a boy.
I shook off the butterfly feeling in my stomach and focused on trying to survive.
"In here!" He shouted as he pointed to a pair of gates.
The gates opened slowly and we ran inside.
The gates shut quicker then they opened and I sat down to catch my breath.
That was more running then I think I'd done in my entire life.
I huffed and huffed until I looked around.
This was an old school.
"Come on, up we go." The boy said as he helped me stand up.
I looked around and people gathered
"Who's that?"
"Is she new?"
"Where did she come from?"
Louis started to look irritated
"Guys! I know you all have questions but give the girl a minute to adjust. She almost died."
My breath was shaky as everything started to become a lot.

"HEY!" A booming voice rumbled.
The boy and I looked over to see another boy walking aggressively toward us.
"Woah! Assim! What's going on dude?"
Assim continued to walk closer and he ended up thrusting his hands onto Louis, making Louis stumble backwards.
"You left me out there!! For what? For some girl? That's not cool man!"
"I was saving an innocent life. And you survived didn't you? I knew you could, I didn't know if she could. So chill out!"
Assim huffed and turned on his heels. He walked angrily away, probably to go pout somewhere.
"Come on. Let's go get you a room."
Louis softly placed his hand on my lower back and took me inside.
"I'm Louis by the way." He spoke as we stopped in front of a chipping door.
"Y/n. My name is y/n."
"Nice to meet you y/n." He opened the door and walked inside "This is your room. It's not much but at least you have a bed!"
"It's more then I could ask for." I smiled.
"Well I'm glad it's satisfactory." Louis laughed.
I giggled at his comment and looked down in a blush.
I noticed that one of his fingers was half gone.
I scrunched my brows and looked into his eyes.
I grabbed his hand and held it.
"What happened?" I asked, pointing out his finger.
"Some really angry people happened. There was a group of people who would take kids to work in their community. Often times without any warnings or goodbyes."
"That's horrible."
My heart broke thinking of what that must have been like.
"Thankfully I wasn't one of those kids. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like."
Louis looked down in sorrow. I imagine he's thinking about someone who was one of those kids.
I cupped his cheek and pushed his face to look at me.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. It's not very healthy for a teenage boys mind. Trust me, I know."
He seemed to be content with my touch.
He closed his eyes tight to not cry and he gently placed his hand on top of mine that was around his jaw.
Soon I realized how close we were like we'd been friends forever and I backed up.
I cleared my throat and sighed.
"Anyway, I should probably get settled."
"Y-yeah. That would... be best. So... I'll be outside if you need anything. Later you'll be introduced to everyone."
"O-Okay. B-bye."
"Bye." He whispered breathily.
He walked out and I flopped onto the bed.
"What is wrong with me? Am I just trying to fall in love?!" I groaned and covered my face with my hands "y/n, you are a fucking idiot."

Third pov
A couple very boring weeks had gone by and everyone loved y/n. She turned out to be pretty helpful and pretty smart. Louis also seemed to have a thing for her.
He couldn't tell if it was just the thrill or if he was actually considering feelings for her.
Y/n jogged down the main steps and put to the court yard. She smiled at everyone and waved back to the kids who said hello.
"Y/n!" Ruby called to her new best friend.
She stopped and turned to her friend.
"What's up?" Y/n asked.
"I was wondering if you could help me with medical procedures today. It's gonna be a lot just for one person and if really appreciate it!"
"Sure! Why not?"
"Thanks y/n!"
Ruby side hugged her quickly and walked off with a purpose.
"Y/n!" Another female voice bounced.
"Clem, what's going on?"
"Have you seen Aj?" She huffed as she braced herself on her knees.
"He's out in the back with tenn." Y/n pointed behind her.
"Thanks! You're a life saver!"
Y/n laughed and waved her off.

Your POV
After a while I decided to head down and see if Tennessee wanted some company.
"Hey dude!" I smiled
"Oh! Hi y/n! Want to draw with me?"
"I'd love to!"
I sat down and Tenn gave me a pencil and a piece of paper. I doodled and showed him my crappy artwork.
We laughed about how bad they were but it made for a good memory!
I heard footsteps and looked up to see Louis.
"Hey Lou! What's up?"
"Can I talk to you alone for a minute?"
"Sure!"
I walked into the rundown greenhouse, which was still waiting for repairs, and waited for Louis to speak.
"I wanted to give you this." Louis said holding up a bracelet. The bracelet was just a wire but it had a little wood circle with a hole in it, kinda like a donut.
"Oh Louis! It's so cute! Thank you." I smiled wide as I pulled him in for a hug.
"Yeah and I also wanted to say... that umm... I guess this whole thing is a thing because I... well it's just.." Louis sighed. I placed my hand on his shoulder and told him to breathe "I did the gesture because ever since I met you you've been amazing and I can't help but feel close to you. I think it's just that I-"
Suddenly the door burst open and assim walked in.
He jogged up to me and pulled me into him.
"Y/n, I know I haven't been the best. In fact, I know I was a dick to you when you first came but I can't take it anymore. Would you please be my girlfriend?"
I was astounded at his question.
I hadn't ever had a boyfriend before, but I was willing to say yes.
And that's what I did
