Bark worse than bite

Well I mean damn. I'm just uploading all the time now aren't I? I have literally nothing to do in school so I just decided to write all the time now! This book is the one I have the most ideas for... although Tim running out now... so I am just zooming through these!

"We are almost there." Louis chimed as I walked behind him.
"So you guys live completely alone? No adults."
"Yeah, we try our best to do what we can."
"That must be weird, at least you have each other though. I hadn't talked to people in weeks."
"Well now you have us. You're going to have so much conversation you won't even know what to do."
Louis smiled happily which transferred to me. He opened his hand for me to take and I smiled as I grabbed it.
We walked to the gates and they opened steadily
"Who's this?" A boy with a blonde mullet asked.
"This is y/n. She was found by me out in the woods. Told me she hadn't seen other people for weeks. I couldn't just leave her."
The mullet man turned to me and sighed
"Can you hunt?"
I nodded
"Can you swim?"
I nodded again
"Can you cook?"
I nodded once more.
"Yeah she can stay." He crossed his arms and looked away.
Louis cheered and I smiled wide.
"Thank you." I spoke to him.
"Yeah yeah don't sweat it kid." He tried to play it off but I could already tell he liked me "I'm Marlon by the way."
I shook his hand and he showed me around with Louis trialing behind me.
Marlon took us up to his office and opened the door. When he did a big dog walked out. I jumped back and started to shake.
"It's just Rosie. She loves people." Marlon spoke.
I shook my head and started to breathe heavy. I was trembling.
"It's okay she won't hurt you." Louis comforted as he rubbed my shoulders.
"I don't like dogs. Terrified of them actually. Please put her back." I begged.
Marlon whistled and commanded Rosie to get back into his office and I tried to breathe steady.
"She's away now. You're fine." Louis cooed
"Did you have a run in with a dog?" Marlon pried.
"Dude!" Louis warned.
"It's fine. It's okay. Yeah I did. When I was little. A dog bit me and I had to get 14 stitches. It wasn't fun. I can't even go near a dog now. I tremble and freeze."
"Okay okay. Do you midnight trying to work on it?"
"I don't know. If I'm gonna live here I might as well try right?"
"Right." Marlon agreed
"Right darlin." Louis smiled.
"But... not today. I've had enough." I shook my head.
"Of course. Let's get you a room and some blankets."

Louis found the perfect room for me and set me up.
"Call me if you need anything." He suggested before leaving. I nodded and started to unpack my stuff.

The next morning was a very chill day. I assumed Rosie would be out which already made my heart race. Louis knocked on my door and walked in.
"Hey. I was wondering if you wanted to do some Rosie training today."
"Sure." I shrugged.
I went out to the courtyard with him and Marlon was playing with Rosie. I saw her jump on him and I flinched a little.
"She's just playing. It's alright. He's alright." Louis cooed as he whispered lowly into my ear.
"Here's what we are going to do first. We are going to have you in a general vicinity with Rosie, and just wait until you get comfortable.
I sat down in the courtyard while Daisy played. It was feeling fine.
After an hour or two Louis moved me closer to Rosie. My heart raced for a couple minutes but then settled back down.
We repeated the process till I was about 6 feet away from her.
"Yeah no I can't do this." I was shaking and about to cry.
"Okay okay. Here let's back away. Have Rosie lay down, be calm and then we will step closer okay. I think you're intimidated you close movement."
I nodded and backed away with him. Rosie laid down, her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth as she huffed.
I scooted closer and felt my arms shake.
"Look. See how good you're doing? You're shaking less." Marlon encouraged.
I started to stop shaking and slowed my mind down.
"Okay can we be done for today?" I asked
"Sure." Louis nodded.

A couple weeks had gone by and I was doing pretty well with Rosie. I could now sit a foot away with her while she was sitting. I was still very uncomfortable but slowly I think it was working. Sometimes I hated it and sometimes I loved it. I threw Rosie a ball the other day and laughed out of pure excitement.

"You're getting good at this." Louis nodded as he put an arm around my shoulder.
"Thanks." I rested my head on his shoulder and sighed in content.
The sun started to go down and I looked at Louis as his skin reflected the orange and red sky perfectly.
"You're so beautiful." He whispered.
I smiled up at him and he leaned down. I put one hand on his jawline and kissed him back.
"You're gonna get this down with Rosie. I know she believes in you. I believe in you too."
"I still think it's going to take a while."

And it did. It took y/n three months to get over her fear of dogs to a point where she could sit with Rosie and cuddle her. She still couldn't play with her or get playful, but she was definitely able to hold her.
