"Y/n! Get into the gates!"
"I can't! Tenn is still out there!"
"Y/n inside now!!! The herd has doubled!"
"Not until I know tenn is safe!"
I ran from louis's calls of anger.
I ran into the herd knowing that I'd be okay. Nobody else knew of my immunity to walker bites.
I knew that my secret wasn't worth the life of tenn.
I ran into the herd and felt a walker crack into my calf.
I screamed in pain but kicked him off and kept running.
I found tenn about to be taken down and bitten but I thrusted my elbow into the walkers mouth and pushed the walker into a tree, cracking it's skull with my arm.
Tenn screamed in sadness as he saw me get bit.
After the walker fell with a limp rag doll mien, I grabbed tenn and ran back to the school with him.
I was limping on my calf and crying because of the pain but I knew I had to get him back into the school.
I hobbled in quickly and the gates slammed behind me, signalling that we were safe.
I dropped to my knees with tenn still in my arms and I placed him down.
I weakly fell to the floor and hyperventilated to catch my breath again.
"Oh no. She's been bit." Mitch whispered in shock.
"Twice." Ruby added.
"I'll be okay. I'm not gonna turn." I grunted as I stood up.
"It's okay y/n, we know you're scared. I'd be too, but you have to know that you won't live." Tenn bravely said with tears in his eyes.
"No I'm serious, I'm not gonna turn guys." I laughed.
"What do you mean?"
I sighed and knew it was time to tell them.
"Im immune."
Everyone gathered around me as I told my story.
I lifted up my sleeve to show my scared bicep with a walker jaw mark in it.
"See. I've been bitten before. I didn't turn. No body ever wondered why, they just knew that it didn't happen." I shrugged.
Everyone's eyes were wide.
"How many times have you been bitten?" Louis asked in shock.
"Ummm... seventeen? I think."
"Seventeen times and you're not DEAD?" Mitch squawked.
"Yeah." I chuckled nervously.
"And that's why you weren't worried about getting bit to save tenn." Louis connected.
"Tada! I'm magic!" I bowed.
All the others laughed and breathed a sigh of relief.
I laughed along until I felt something wrap around me. I looked and saw tenn hugging me.
"Thank you for saving me. I love you."
"I-I... you're welcome, bud."
Tenn ran off with tears in his eyes and everyone else decided to drop the subject for now.
"Hey! You gotta tell your walker bite stories at bonfire tonight." Mitch smiled.
"I will." I nodded.
I saw Louis run to me and then felt him tackle me in a hug before I could realize he was doing it.
"I'm so glad you're not dead." He laughed as he squeezed me tighter.
"I'm glad I'm not dead too."
"I was so scared the entire time you were out there. And when I heard you scream I thought you were gone. I thought I lost you and I'd never forgive myself."
"I'm okay Louis. I'm right here."
"I know. I know you are. It's still scary though."
"Shh. You're alright."
He grabbed a ball of cloth from my shirt and still held me.
I couldn't help but feel butterflies inside.
I have always really liked Louis.
So the fact that he's showing he cares about me and that he's hugged me for this long is making me crazy.
"Louis?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah?" He asked as he backed away.
I looked into his eyes and seized my opportunity.
I pressed my lips onto his and he kissed me back.
I could feel him asking for more but I pulled away.
"What was that for? I thought you wanted to kiss me?" Louis laughed.
"We aren't that far ahead yet. Maybe later."
"Okay." He blushed.
I smiled and laughed at his obligatory response.
"Come on. Let's go join everyone else. I'm sure they wanna here all about my superpower."
"I mean you basically are super human." He pointed out.
"True." I nodded.
"Come on. Let's go show you off." He wonkily smiled as he threw an arm around my shoulders and held me close as we walked to the fire together.
